grow it bro, my back taper has been growing for a month and the rest of my head for 6. it will be able to be braided with the rest of my hair by next month, it really doesnt take that long, you just wont have crazy drop at first

Side taper is cool I’d go low taper on the sides but not touch the back

Honestly for back tapers are just part of the journey right now. Once I want the long braids in the back then I’ll grow it out. It’s all part of the journey and figuring out what u want

Ever since I grew my back taper out a year ago, my corn rows look way better. I got way more hang time.

Facts once I grew my hair out & am constantly braided now I never do my back taper anymore especially being that I'm my own barber not doing back taper makes it 10x easier and I have my hang time back there now💯

I just say don’t get any taper or fade on the back, sides or the front while growing your hair. What happens if you want single braids later, or bantu knots or a fuller Afro but you cut your sides off?

Yeah I had to learn that myself to stop getting my back tapered so it will have more of a drop n my back area

I got a high top with 2years worth of hair. Biggest mistake but now im growing the sides again

i got a small back taper when my hair was really short. Letting it grow early was definitely my best move.

so what do i do if i already got the back tapered? should i just stop and let it grow? wont i need to trim the rest to make it even? also for box braids do i taper the sides or get a fade instead?

Yup this why when i restarted my hair , i grew a curly mullet till my hair was long enough for braids ! plus the hair busting out the cap is dope to me so no back tapers unless i got the mid drop fade

Thank God I grew it all out evenly for the past 2 years. I knew a style would work where I didn't have to cut the sides and back. The cost was I had to wear beanies everywhere for a while 😅

So even if I let the hair grow out for a a few months and wanna get braids or some the hair on tops super long but the sides and back are awkwardly short so I gotta either walk with that or get it cut so I don’t look stupid.😭

Currently three months I had to cut my hair because I kept on breaking it in a certain spot, causing a bald spot. Wasn’t going to look ridiculous so I cut it off. My friends kept on Clowney me saying I was going bald.. but I’m 16 so that’s impossible

I got my sides all the way faded 'my back taper is super low though ' i did it on purpose cause almost everyone is getting a full fadd and just braiding the top of they head

hated my back was cut it looked wired when it was time for braids so i stopped getting it & let my grow hair out and got the rest cut down to the same length.

What if you ate having a hard time growing the nape

I had to get a pretty high back tapper, like to the bottom line of my ear lobe. My neck was too sensitive when I would get cornrows and would break out. Either the braider was doing them to tight or my skin was just too sensitive. Either way my neck area feels a lot better without that tension right there from braids.😢

Man I've been growing my undercut since October 2022 now. Finally I can get small cornrows section in the back and on the side. But 100% I suggest y'all to not cut the hair on the back that's where you see all the length.
