Been following your channel throughout my hair journey for about, a year now. Just got my first wash and trim today and I’m feeling real P 😬🙏🏾 thank you for all your tips man even the smallest tips help along the way
For those that prefer wearing their hair out, the key is doing weekly braid outs or leaving them in big braids and just taking it out when you go out. This is bc it’s a good way to semi stretch your hair and it allows you to comb your hair less (which means less breaking). It def retains easiest doing twists or braids but it’s another option

Ok can someone tell me if this is bad so, I two strand twist my hair every single night. And take it out in the morning and just rock a twist out. A lot of ppl tell me twisting it every day is bad for your hair or it will thin it out or that’s leading to breakage but I googled it and it said u can twist out ur hair every night as long as your not doing it too tight so can someone tell me what’s right and what’s wrong? And pls don’t just say both sides r right I need to know what to listen to😂😂

@@notsurge2321 in general the reason why ladies say that men's hair just appears to grow with minimal or no effort at all is because we touch it a lot less than they do. Wearing out your hair or having different styles on it is amazing, that's the reason we are not doing dread locks probably. Having long hair myself I rock a two strand twist, braid hairstyle or a protective hairstyle for 3 or 4 weeks and rock it out combed back or curled out for a week. When you don't touch your hair much, workout, plenty of water and eat a healthy balanced diet your hair grows. Don't forget to deep condition aight!

@@notsurge2321 lol I’m gonna go with the assumption that you got typical Black hair - that kinky/nappy type like myself. If so, the answer is absolutely not. Our hair grows its best when left tf alone 😂 Peep how the people with the longest and healthier hair usually have it in braids/twists. Any time you are braiding or twisting, you’re manipulating it. Manipulation WILL cause at least a small bit of damage but it is necessary if you don’t plan on locking your hair. Basically, if you’re wearing your hair out, the goal is to comb it enough that it isn’t matting/dreading but not so often your hair keeps coming out. This is why a weekly braid out or twist out works. If you’re doing it every day bc the style isn’t lasting long enough, here’s what you gotta do: 1- before twisting/braiding, your hair MUST BE thoroughly combed otherwise it is going to get matted faster 2- don’t take out until fully dry. Wet braid outs don’t hold even close to the same amount of time 3- protection is needed (pause lol). Sleep with a durag or bonnet or anything to keep those ends protected (a silk type shirt works too. 4- still moisturize with an oil and/or conditioner if it feels dry.

Waddup OG! Been here since Rice Water fam Lmao. Been growing my hair for almost 2 years since bizzcut. I'm down past my lips now. 2 strand twisting, untangling, deep conditioning, and bonnet up (rich royal style) everyday (well I might have missed a couple days in a year, dont crucify me). The results made my momma happy. It's a blessing to have long thick hair man. Appreciate all your advice.
My stylist who does my twists does a trim for me once a season/quarter. It's never a lot that gets trimmed off. But it helps tremendously. Whenever you see those little knots start to form, or your hair gets harder to detangle, or you start getting more breakage than normal while washing/detangling, then it's time for a trim.

I hit 2 years in my hair journey last November. At this point all I have to do is get a style and leave it in for a month minimum. My hair is healthy and I’m finally starting to get to that point where I don’t need to worry about length I already have more hair than most guys not including locs.
I love that more men are growing they hair n learning how to take care of it. Length retention is the game. Take care of your ends n massage your scalp.

keep the ends moisturized and lubricated and protected is the 🔑 of major length retention equals less need of time
As a late high schooler who been on the hair grind since freshman year, honestly you just need to leave hair alone for maximum length. Wash it every 1-2 weeks, only pick it out a little if needed, and put it in a protective style if you know you aren't going to leave it alone

Locs also look like they grow quicker is because the tangled pieces of hair are helping prevent the contraction of shrinkage which is a good plus too locs

Just found your channel and it’s been really helpful but I have two questions. 1. If I’m a waver that puts product in my hair everyday should I also wash it everyday? 2. Do beard hairs have the same porosity as the hair on our scalp?
Hair does stop if you are vitamin deficient. Number 1 vitamin for hair loss is vitamin D. But pretty much any vitamin can cause your hair to thin. Remember to check your levels every 6 months. Make sure your doctor check ALL of your vitamin levels.
Bout to go coo that bonnet onG💪🏾🛎️
So I get my hair trimmed every 8-10 weeks, but it's just a dusting. Not even half an inch i started doing this because I felt like over time, the slip ends kept rising higher and higher. So I've noticed a healthier difference, no fairy knots, and no slit ends that I can see. The faithful ones know, especially when you're first staring out on your hair growth journey. Slit ends, and heat damage is the enemy.😅
appreciate u fam
When I had dreadlocks my hair would not stop growing. I cut my my dreadlocks as my daughter started to feel away as her hair was not long. My natural hair grows definitely like being braided and cornrows grow my hair faster. Great points! My other daughter has cornrows & wears a bonnet allday everyday and her hair has doubled in length.

I’ve been growing my hair since February 2020 but I’ve never gotten a trim. But started to take care of it august 2020 and been taking care of it since. I can’t tell if I have split ends though. You think I have some split ends to the point where I have to trim it really low?
Starting my hair journey this year and beard from about a inch of hair I plan on just working out everything and keeping it healthy and moisturized till I have enough hair for braids. Any advice?
In addition to split ends, your hair could also not be “growing” due to lack of vitamins or lack of water. I also recommend to not use combs, but use fingers and the flexible ez detangler brush. Lastly, I recommend oiling the scalp and massaging your scalp for nutrients and blood flow promotion
This was good and helpful.
Awesome hair help. Thank you.

Split ends is one reason but it’s also just overall maintaining the moisture in your hair to avoid breakage. Try treating your hair after braid ups instead of jumping right back into another style and keeping your ends healthy, and comb gently from the bottom to the roots and you’ll grow your hair down to your mid chest like mine and I have 4c hair 🤷🏾♂️

Glad you mentioned leaving your hair alone but COMBS! COMBS and brushes are the reason our hair breaks off. I started GENTLE finger detangling for 1 year. My hair grew 6 more inches like it’s SUPPOSED TO. Our hair is so dang fragile and COMBS are honestly the BIGGEST reason our hair breaks off. Hair grows 6 inches each year so why do some people that are 20+ years old and haven’t cut their hair have hair that doesn’t pass chin length? Because we rip our hair out using COMBS!! That’s the biggest secret. Drop the combs and brushes and your hair will be long AF.
