One show I just found out about is "Wolf Creek", which is based on the film and stars the original antagonist. I actually had no idea they made this into a series, but I thought season 1 was pretty good while season 2 was excellent. Lot of violence. 😲

Hi Kylie. " The Munsters", a real classic, is not horror per sei, but has been adapted into the big screen by a household figure: Rob Zombie. His take on the story is fresher , which renders it Interesting. Comedy/Horror hybrid too works out. Thank you for all you do!

I actually love the fact that The Boys is being postponed instead of just being pumped out with subpar effects. The fact that they want the audience to experience the best possible version of the show definitely speaks to their artistic integrity

This was definitely a welcome surprise. And the little upside down cross next to your eye was such a nice touch! I'll recommend a few movies and TV here that you might be interested in. MTV's Downtown - It's an animated slice of life comedy from 1999. It was canceled after season 1 for dumb reasons. Just watched all 13 episodes plus the pilot (and behind the scenes feature) in two days. It's all on youtube for free and it looks great. It's about young adults in NYC in the late '90's. It takes stereotypes like the nerd, the goth girl, the best friend and fleshes them out into complicated characters. Still very relevant! It's more dramady but it does have some spooky episodes like one takes place at a horror convention, episode 12 is a parody of Texas Chainsaw Massacre and the final episode is a Halloween episode. And the Insomnia episode is quite spooky too! When characters tell stories the stories are brought to life by the animation. Some of the animation gets very surreal despite the stories being grounded. Kind of like Midnight Gospels but each episode is sequential, except for the pilot. It's a great show with a tiny time commitment. Jenn is one of my fav characters because even though she "hates on" other people you can tell she only does it out of her own insecurities and disappointment in life. The show gets surprisingly deep. It's very funny too! Luther The Geek - A home invasion horror movie about a killer with metal teeth who clucks like a chicken. Sounds like a horror-comedy it's not. Very serious. Surprisingly disturbing. The actor playing the killer has the scariest eyes I've ever seen. I watched this the same day I watched Knock at the Cabin and I liked Luther The Geek way more. Aside from the killer's quirks it might be one of the most realistic home invasion horror movies I've ever seen. It's wild! Sex Doll - A beautiful but miserable sex worker goes about her day just doing whatever. It's slow, not much happens but it's such a dreamy vibe. It's like a beautiful mood piece. Things do happen near the end like some jerks get the crap kicked out of them haha It's an erotic drama directed by a woman. It was a recent rewatch for me. I just like it. It's a mostly a chill movie. And a dog rides in a taxi by himself! Marianne - A super creepy witch show on Netflix. Cancelled after one season but it's super scary and very dark. Can't recommend it enough. About a writer's witch character who comes to life and terrorizes her and her friends. One of the best horror shows on Netflix. And thanks for following me on Letterboxd. That was nice. Appreciate it!

I think The Others is a great rec for anyone who enjoyed Bly Manor. I also wanted to recommend The Innocents (1961), which was a direct adaptation of the Turn of the Screw. It’s one of the few black and white films that still scares me every time I rewatch it.

Hi Kylie :) ! I’d recommend the Innkeepers for some hotel horror. It’s a slowburn but Sara Paxton makes it worthwhile

Some tv suggestions. Being Human the UK or US versions. The US version ends better but the first 3 seasons of the UK version are top notch. It's about a vampire, werewolf and ghost living together trying to get by in life. Forever Knight is also a good early 90s show. It's a little dated but it still has some solid episodes and is delightfully cheesy. It's about a vampire cop looking for a cure and redemption.

i can understand the mistake because they both look like twins but it isnt josh duhamel in the crazies it is timothy olypahant who also is in the santa clarita diet :)

Love this video!! I also used to watch way more tv shows as a teenager, but lately I've been wanting to catch up on classic horror movies, big horror franchises, and new horror releases in general! I recently watched the whole Scream TV series and it was cheesy but addictive and fun at the same time :)! Timothy Olyphant was hilarious in Santa Clarita Diet 😂 I was disappointed too when they cancelled the show. And The Haunting of Hill House is one of my favorite horror tv shows, every time I watch it I love it even more and I cry more in some scenes, I especially love Theo 😍 And I definitely need to check out the new Wrong Turn if it's similar to Yellowjackets 🙌

Hotel horror, the hostel series (primarily the first 2 films), very gory, very violent kind of nihilistic horror Psycho, Norman Bates is literally a motel owner/operator I havent seen this franchise, but there's the no vacancy franchise.

Oh wow bummer that The Boys is getting delayed but I’m stoked they’re not settling for bad fx. Caught up with Yellowjackets, first season really rips! Gnarly show. Unscripted Kylie 🔥🔥🔥 I’ve heard good things about Severance, reminds me of Charlie Kaufman’s stuff like Being John Malkovich and Adaptation, really excellent concepts with great execution. Being John Malkovich specifically is another good match imo! Heady concepts, absurd office dystopian vibes. Also Brazil from (1985) is like an absurd surreal kinda fantasy horror movie that takes place in mostly in an office. Absolutely love that flick, one of my all time favs. Captures this remarkable surreal dystopian tone. It’s directed by Terry Gilliam (Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Monty Python and the Holy Grail) and Robert DeNiro in a small role. Mayhem and The Belko Experiment sound interesting as well, might have to peep em! Dark Shadows lol, fun pick. Aesthetics are on point. Recently watched Ginger Snaps and that’s another good match. Snarky teen girl outcasts, best friend is a werewolf, it’s a vibe! Ooh The Twilight Zone! What a pleasantly surprising pick!! Love it. I still haven’t seen Invasion of the Body Snatchers! I’m slacking. It’s now on the top my list with Prey haha. I love b&w, but my pair for the Twilight Zone would be The Man From Earth (2007), manages to capture a similar vibe with a super low budget and like no effects. It’s basically a play. But the themes and combination of science and fiction are really interestingly executed. AHS is always kind of so-so for me. Some aspects I love, some are not so awesome. Got around to watching Coven, loved Angela Bassett as Marie Laveau and the whole Stevie Nicks situation! Gonna have to peep Practical Magic and Eve’s Bayou, both have been on my list. The American Crime Story about Versace was really well done, that’s the only Ryan Murphy project that I’ve seen that is nearly perfect. Kubrickesque elegance and precision. Sort of like A Clockwork Orange with the super artful depiction of really disturbing stuff. Ooh nice Hellraiser is a great pick! The balance of nasty and campy is pretty close tonally! I recently watched Ken Russell’s Gothic, it’s about Mary Shelley, Lord Byron and co. doing drugs, being horny, and writin up bangers like Frankenstein in a gothic mansion. Very fun. AHS vibes a bit but not censored for cable haha Really great recs for the AHS seasons! Gonna have to peep the Hotel season. I know there’s one called No Vacancy from however long ago, might be a motel though haha The VVitch is a lot better than Roanoke haha. Couldn’t get through Roanoke. Cult is trash. Wag the Dog is a great political satire from the 90s that feels more relevant now than ever. Not horror or cults but that’s my pair for like tone/themes haha Someone else mentioned Search Party, really great show that goes culty and it just so fun. Apocalypse is also dookie. I’d rec the Teenage Apocalypse trilogy by Gregg Araki, 3 films (Totally F*cked Up, The Doom Generation, Nowhere) that explore themes of apocalypse and self destruction a lot better than AHS and with a similar fun transgressive style. The Alien season reminds me of Now Apocalypse, it’s a Gregg Araki show from a couple years ago on Stars. Horny stoner stumbles upon an alien conspiracy, really fun show and tone!! Quick watch. Hannibal 🔥🔥🔥 bring it back!! Zodiac is a great pick. I will double down on Doom Generation from the Teenage Apocalypse trilogy, the subtext is so strong it’s basically text. T’was Araki making a ‘heterosexual film’ lmaoo ET is another great ST pairing. S1 of course. Recently caught up with Yellowjackets, The Descent might be a good pair too! Nature, tough group faces with issues. Also Fearless is a movie with Jeff Bridges that deals with a personality change after a plane crash, really great movie!! Psychological drama more so than horror though. Hereditary 🔥🔥🔥 I gotta check out Hill House. Gotta catch up for your Flanagan vid haha Very stoked for Beau is Afraid!! Love Chucky, gotta get around to the show! PLL lmaoo my sister loved that show, strong early seasons and cliffhangers IKWYDLS is great. Great pair!! Eyy nice the Descent. Haven’t seen Midnight Mass but makes me hype to catch up on Flanagan. Oh wow I didn’t know Kevin Williamson wrote Vampire Diaries! Goosebumps 🔥🔥🔥 lol Steen or sty-ne it’s for sure one of those two haha Creepshow is a good pair Outsider sounds like Twin Peaks, one of the original mystery that might be supernatural shows on cable. Half soap opera half art house movie. It’s what Riverdale wanted to be hahah. Still gotta see Invisible Man, I’ve heard great things. Did yo ever watch the Sabrina show with Melissa Joan Heart? Haha twas the original, very 90s, not scary at all. Ooh I loved Swarm. I feel like Serial Mom has a similar comment on true crime in the media. Ma is a good pair, definitely has the obsession angle. You is definitely similar. Pearl would be a good pair as well movie-wise. Or King of Comedy. For those who like the tone of Swarm, check out Atlanta, really great show. For Squid Game, I feel like Parasite has a similar commentary on class and Snowpiercer has a similar dystopian vibe. Santa Clarita Diet was fun!! I recently watched Eating Raoul, a dark comedy from the 80s. Very LA, super fun vibe, an odd couple killin people but the deaths are funnier than they are disturbing. Similar tone to SCD! Nice doc recs. F for Fake is a great meta documentary by Orson Welles, it’s like half-documentary half fiction. Really fun 70s vibe. His last feature I believe. Yeah Zombies are a but tired innit. Love Shaun of the Dead haha. All the Romero stuff is a good pair of course!! Dawn of the Dead and all that. Not much if a gamer but Left 4 Dead is basically a video game version of like Dawn of the Dead and it’s good fun. This was absolutely a fun lil bonus video! Great idea. And went all out with the look too! Killin it. Love the lil inverted cross, nice detail haha Ahhh individual reviews coming soon too, nice! Has Alia Shawkat from AD (maeby fünke) as the lead, she’s amazing! The cast of this show is fantastic!! Going off the cuff with some straight up comedy show recs since you watched Arrested Development: Community (Dan Harmon also co-wrote Monster House and showruns Rick and Morty, I think you’d appreciate the metaness of the show) Reservation Dogs (teens coming of age on a reservation in Oklahoma, great wholesome and hilarious show! super unique, great cast) Also Doctor Who kinda has a Twilight Zone vibe sometimes. I was really into it in high school, it has the perfect concept for an infinitely continuing story. What a pleasant surprise! Happy Tuesday y’all!

I might be asking you to check out something you've already seen, but if you haven't checked out Raw by Julia Ducournau you 110% should. They've made two excellent horror films that I've seen, but while I adore Titane, Raw is my favorite of her two-feature filmography atm. As long as you're okay with reading subtitles (or you're okay with the fact that you speak French), it's a 10/10 watch imo. Awesome video btw! 👻

Severance was amazing! The ending of season 1 had my heart rate so high 😅 and I cannot wait for season 2! It’s been a long time since I was this hooked/hyped for a new season of something.

I'm a big fan of Ma.. it's actually extremely dark, disturbing, creepy and messed up while still feeling "fun".. it feels pretty unique, original, and unpredictable for the genre.. and Octavia Spencer is gives a great performance..

I am honored to be in this coven! My damned soul is yours. Anyway, I'll have to watch Severance, it sounds like an interesting show. I've also been wanting to watch Dark Shadows for awhile. I quite like Eva Green, so any movie or show with her has me intrigued. As for American Horror Story, if you like or love it, that's awesome. I used to, but now I dislike it. Mainly because in my opinion it's just exploitative shite disguised as horror. First example is a school shooting in season one and yet another mass murder at a school in season five. Second example is that the way sexual assault is handled in the show is absolutely disgusting and shameful. It's just thrown in for shock value, which just proves to me that Ryan Murphy is a talentless hack. Third example is how serial killers are portrayed. For crying out loud, Richard Ramirez is pretty much portrayed as a slasher villain in AHS:1984. There are some good things about American Horror Story, such as the gore, some of the characters, and the homages to classic horror are pretty clever. I don't hate this show, but it just makes me uncomfortable, and not in a good way like Hellraiser.

Horror is not for everyone. My favorite horror movie franchise is scream but I've never seen the tv series.

I don't know why, but I always mixed up Pretty Little Liars and Gossip Girl.

I know this has nothing to do with horror but I would for sure recommend to people is Escape at Dannemora a great mini-series from Ben Stiller one of my best tv shows ever. (based on a true story)

The Shining and maybe The Innkeepers as well to pair with AHS Hotel - I stopped watching after this season Haunting of Hills House can be complimentary with The Conjuring and I pair these on Halloween Scream has 3 which is the worst film of the franchise, but other than that I looove all the films - could go well with Scream Queens? I do want to get into the Chucky franchise, but sometimes a TV can throw me off with the extra commitment to sit down and watch entire seasons - but it does have me intrigued that they kept the consistency across Film > TV

watch True Detective season 1 and Servant

The first 6 seasons of American Horror Story were the best. I'm in the minority with loving Roanoke. I've been to the Lost Colony of Roanoke. There is an energy there, lol. Kinda brought the whole thing to life for me lol There is a scene in the first episode of Hotel though that...I just wasn't ready for you. Made my WHOLE body hurt to watch it. They just pulled no punches. I think AHS Apocalypse could also be likened to 10 Cloverfield Lane and maybe loosely on The Happening. Please do not get me started on the disappointment that was 1984. Very excited to see what you think of Salem. PRETTY...LITTLE...LIARS. Let me tell you. I went in because Piper from Charmed was the mom (Which was a weird thing for me because that meant I was old enough to be a mom to one of these girls) ANYWAY. And I got sucked in. I hopped in December, right as Season 5B was supposed to start in January. When I tell you, I binged ALL four full seasons and the half of Season 5 in 4 weeks. That is my most impressive marathon to date. I was ALL in. I had a notebook and everything, haha. Tales from the Darkside would be great to pair up with Goosebumps and also Cats Eye from Stephen King. I gave up on Walking Dead at the finish line but let me tell you why. They screwed themselves. You have the final season of a show I have invested a DECADE into and then you tell me WHO is getting spinoffs which tells me NOTHING is at stake. So I stopped. I was done at Season 11.

Hammer house of horror

Season 11 of AHS was definitely better than Season 10. But Season 11 is called NYC it takes place in the 80s, there's a aids outbreak and a serial killer killing gay men. As someone who is gay watching this season I was a little uncomfortable because of the sexual content they display it has a lot to do with BDSM & A lot of drug use its very graphic stuff and I'm a recovering addict and those scenes were uncomfortable for me to watch but over all not a horrible season but AHS hasn't felt like AHS since Hotel. Jessica Lange leaving after Freakshow killed the series imo. But 1984 is such an underrated season btw.

Negan arrived and I stopped watching Walking Dead shortly after that. The character and the actor are great. It’s just what he did.

American horror story is a sinking ship. I've seen every season and found enjoyment out of most of them but double feature I started to get annoyed and the newest one just frustrated me. I like that Ryan Murphy made the season very very gay but as a gay man he should know that the gay community doesn't need an aids is bad metaphor banged over our heads for an entire season. I could write a whole essay on why the finale did not work for me at all 😤
