I spent way more time in college than most, not because I needed to in order to get my degree but because I enjoyed learning and loved the social aspect of college, that was back in the late 70s into the early 90s before colleges went over the edge. Even with all that education mostly in sciences I still admire my grandfather's wisdom even though he didn't graduate high school he was one of the smartest people I have known. agree, adding data from BUDGET COMMITTEE - - - The Biden Administration is more concerned with forgiving hundreds of billions of dollars’ worth of student debt than ensuring millions of students are receiving timely and accurate estimates regarding their financial aid. In just three years, the Biden Administration has attempted to spend an unprecedented $1 trillion on loan “forgiveness” in a clear circumvention of Congress. And just this week, DEMOCRAT Biden announced a new student loan bailout scheme. Independent analysis from the Penn Wharton Budget Model (PWBM) estimates this latest plan could cost taxpayers $84 billion over the next decade. According to PWBM, “about 750,000 households making over $312,000 in average household income.” Biden’s FY 2025 budget proposal doubles down on these student loan bailouts, requesting $290.3 billion to “reduce the cost of and expand access to postsecondary education, and training,” including $90 billion for “free community college.”

She's right in many ways and who cares if another person wears jewelry? Who posted this the jewelry police? Grow up on that point. Charlie always makes good points but he fails in a lot of other ways. For example, right wingers love him because he has them believing that ALL college students are stupid and wasting their time. IN FACT, colleges world wide give the world well educated, capable people year after year - doctors, engineers, physicists, educators, scientists, computer technicians, etc. She said, "College is what you make it." She's exactly right. My nephew went to 4 years of college, studied computer programming, graduated and got a great job programming for a very small company (20 employees). He and his wife bought a nice little house, he's paying off his loans and he is doing well. He had thought about joining the Army but he believes he's made the right decision for himself. Charlie also fails to talk about (avoids talking about) how much control corporate American has on public policy - law making - the courts, Wall Street, Healthcare, Banking, etc. It's like he's super smart but also a bit stupid. Wisdom? No Charlie, calling yourself a Christian but then thoroughly enjoying making dumb people look even dumber is NOT something Christ would have done and if you feel you are called to do that, you are being called by your ego, not by God.

I mean profit is such a curious word. When you force a massive number of people into the industry as consumers the profit margin for -most- of those in the industry isn't great. They're bringing in people who should be flipping burgers or laying brick or fixing tractors to be educators by shoving all this money into the industry. The people that SHOULD be educating are a teeny tiny margin. And then they make sure that those people can't actually teach because honest teaching would totally undermine their power structure. Profit -can- be dirty if it's someone who isn't fighting for what's right. I'm not convinced one way or the other on Charlie Kirk. I am convinced solidly on didactic (teacher-focused) education.

You've answered your own question. The fury is based on knowing very little about how the world really works and having very little responsibility or perspective. Once a person is put into a position where they (and the people for whom they are responsible) rise or sink on their own decisions and actions, they learn to appreciate how hard it is to actually succeed in the world without someone (parents, teachers, coaches, employers) propping you up and taking care of all the day-to-day operations and occasional disasters. It's easy to think you're the smartest little thing to come out of college and wonder why all these "dummies" don't just do the "right thing". Having to raise kids, manage employees, and/or own a company shows you just how little you really know about the world. It's a wonderful, yet deeply humbling experience, and it often makes you more understanding, appreciative, and compassionate toward people who are willing to be put in charge. In short, it's easy to be a follower who does little more than complain. It's much harder to lead and shoulder the burdens that comes with it. I learned this as a father of 3 children, a platoon sergeant in the Army, and by managing my own portfolio of rental properties.

The idea that modern colleges practice 'intellectualism' is just comedy, at this point. She can't even make a point, without a logical fallacy of some kind. That doesn't even get to the fact that the Democrat party represents both the Left and the Right wing, simultaneously... collectivism, combined with authoritarianism (vaks/maks mandates, etc.) They're always railing about Muh Right Wing, but IT'S THEM. THEY ARE THE RIGHT WING, as well as the Left wing. America is founded on the principle of INDIVIDUAL LIBERTY, which is the OPPOSITE of the Left-Right spectrum (which is merely different flavors of UN-LIBERTY). The Left-Right spectrum is the OPPOSITE of America (which is why there's such a thing as the American Dream) -- ever heard of the Cuban Dream? Ever heard of the Chinese Dream? Ever heard of the Venezuelan Dream? F*** no, you haven't -- there ain't no such thing, because they're all on the Left-Right spectrum, instead of the Liberty spectrum.

Î think it boils down to Charlie telling tem that "College is a scam". As a European, the concept of paying thousands of dollars for a University degree is very alien. But those people he debates are paying the amount of money I had to pay for my plot of land alone, without the house I built on top of it. That would be fine if they are later able to make decent money thanks to the education they got. But it's not anymore, especially for those not majoring in STEM-fields.

@zumogerstubchen2340 Right. The colleges are simply an outcome created by our federal government. It started in 1965. When they basically started subsidizing the university system...they guarantee this outcome. All they had to do is stop many many years ago and colleges would have DROPPED tuitions. That would be part of the equation. The debt issue aside, then there is the fields of study being chosen. Stem fields NEED to be pushed to our students. Instead of continuing college I went into an electrical apprenticeship my second year after graduating and it was clear IMMEDIATELY that there would be a staggering generational drop off at some point. That point is right now. We NEED electricians. Plumbers. Carpenters. Welders. So on and so on. The market does need to correct the wage being offered to be more in line with current market conditions but, that's just a matter of time. I think we are going to see a significant shift very soon.
