Was really nice to see him have a strong outing, especially since it was more than the standard one inning. He looked really good as did the rest of the bullpen in this one.
Yes absolutely, he is a huge key in locking down wins and when he's not available Nunez should be locking down those games

The ninth inning was such a problem for the Mets in May, they need to do whatever they can to win games in that final stage. If Díaz is back to himself, that should give the Mets asst least a couple more wins this year.

Ive been saying on a few videos, offense will come and go. There will be stretches where they hit constantly and then go cold. Teams live and die with pitching. Gotta be able to win games like this where the lineup can only scratch a couple of runs.

Even when he was healthy to start the year he wasn’t even close to touching 100 with his fastball. He’s doing that consistently now which is a great sign.
If McNeil has a partially torn UCL, he should really get surgery. Just think how much better his drives would be, on the golf course, if he does.
Diaz wasn’t himself at the beginning because of the shoulder impingement (swimmer’s shoulder) which was the cause of multiple blown saves
I believe that they can be a serious wildcard contender by 2026, but in order to be considered a championship-caliber team, they need to develop from within.
All the good things from last night, what has Diekman EVER done to show he should be pitching in high leverage situations? Either blows it or escapes by the skin of his teeth every time

Diaz looked good again. Other than a few guys, the offense is still non existent. It's not a slump anymore. There are some players that just shouldn't be in the lineup.
A few wins against mediocre teams and we want to start selling World Series tickets. After the Padres series the Mets have the Rangers, Cubs and Yankees. Let see just how long this rosy outlook lasts.

The Padres are no pushover either. They have the best offense in Baseball right now.
I think that they will make a short run before falling back to playing below 500. I think the team will still sell at the deadline because there is just too much traffic ahead of them, and the team is too old. they have too many holes to fill via free agency.
waiting for the shoe to drop while popping tums is is not how we want our status to be when closer is out there.
They beat a .500 team but the Mets are still the experiment they were set to be from the beginning of the season.

Why start Quintana when you know it’s a loss, there is no one else in this organization that gives you a better chance? If not we really have a long way to go.
Don't matter he doesn't hit this team is offensively challenged
DIAZ cannot rely just on his slider, use more his fastball. It wouldn't be a bad idea if he was to develope either a splitter or a goo changeup. Also, when it comes to throwing out would be stealers, ALVAREZ is just lousy. He just sucks and has a to do a lot of work to improve.
