If Bray Wyatt Was The One To Break The Streak At WrestleMania 31 #8
Спорт
Tony Hinchliffe (Kill Tony) explains how Bray Wyatt was the one who brought him back into wrestling because he was the new Undertaker. Tony and Taker also discuss what it would've been like had it been Bray Wyatt to break Undertaker's streak at WrestleMania 31 instead of Brock Lesnar.

If there was anyone who could continue the whole "dark side" persona of WWE, Bray was the one to do it

I feel like will never get someone to continue it tbh. Bray was so perfect for it.
The streak should have never been broken in my opinion
I’ve said this for years now that Bray should have been the one to break the streak. It’s unfortunate they fought when they did because for one the streak was already broken but you also already knew Taker was gonna win. Bray breaking the streak would have catapulted him to something huge at that time in giving the streak to a young and promising wrestler who would benefit greatly from it. Yes Bray got to that point eventually but only due to his genius and creativity. It would have been a torch passing moment in the most perfect way. RIP Bray

When Bray declared himself the New Face of Fear, I instantly thought it would lead to a program with Taker. Smh.
I had thought if anyone would break The Streak, it would be Bray. I really enjoyed a lot of what he did.
Don’t know what Vince’s issue was with Bray cause everytime he’d reinvent himself Vince would find a way to sabotage it no matter how over he was I remember probably not watching for over a year after they had him drop the belt to Goldberg

After the attitude era, Vince did it with anyone who got a lot of momentum. He didn't want to have any marquee names outside of Cena. Probably because of money and if any of them left the company, they wouldn't be big in the companies because all their momentum was destroyed.

@@crownprincesebastianjohano7069 Undertaker was never the face of the company either.Vince was just out of touch after 2008. Booking was horrible and everything became about Cena then Roman. Brock beating the streak is a perfect example of that. It was all short term money moves for Vince, he never thought long term. So happy Triple H is now in charge cause you see the difference. Has anyone ever asked Taker about the Mordecai character? Thats a real What If right there.
Agreed either the streak stay undefeated or let someone who needs it bray was one of the guys who could have been pass the torch
Bray Wyatt take on the Cape Fear/Waylon Mercy/cult leader was a breath of fresh air! Awesomeness. Classic promos. His vignettes were great and right up there with some classic 90s ones(Razor comes to mind). I miss him and he definitely was one that kept me interested when some of it got lull. Wyatt Family was brilliant
This was always the thing to me. He was the obvious choice. They ended up just going with Brock who didn't need any push. Bray was *the reason* I was into WWE again. He reminded me of everything I used to love about wrestling.
The only 2 correct answers are Bray and if not him then nobody, and let the streak immortal
I want to thank you Windham for bringing ALL of YOU into our lives. For the very limited time we had you here on this planet. As others pointed out he wasn't just great in his gimmicks. But also and more importantly as a human being. Who genuinely cared for other people's feelings. That's a mighty RARE trait to possess in the world of pro wrestling. Where 95% of the time it's cutthroat and get ahead of everyone else no matter what. Windham was a rarity in that regard. I can only imagine the things you would have accomplished if you had been given more time. But the lord called and when he calls you answer. Whether your ready or not. Their isn't anything we ALL can do about it. But we must know that he went on to fulfill a higher purpose. And is in a BY FAR greater place then we could ever imagine.
Bray was an updated version of Waylon Mercy for the most part, with some Cactus Jack (WCW and ECW) and a little Undertaker sprinkled and when he became The Fiend he added a lot of Mankind and Kane and obviously Mr Rogers for the firefly fun house. Undertaker was a lot more straightforward as a character, especially at first. He was a gravedigger with a Mike Myers/ Jason Voorhees vibe who later on added more supernatural elements and became more of a demonic undead wizard/ druid and then he shedded those elements to portray a badas biker.
Bray breaking the streak would have been a true handing the reins of from supernatural entity to supernatural entity. Meanwhile Roman was already taking over the enforcer of the back stage wrestling. Both Bray and Roman taking over after both aspects of the undertaker infront of the crowd and behind the scenes would have been perfect

I would have loved this too, 1000% -- I think it would've made most sense for Bray, as it would have literally been a passing of the torch, and would've given his character so much more credibility. Brock felt like a bizarre choice to me for breaking the streak, I think with everything he'd done and how they handled his character, he was fine with or without it. Roman would've been good, even back then though, it's like... There would be better guys to beat the streak than Roman -- Plus, in hindsight where he is now, it's at a point where... He's not the guy that BEAT the Undertaker at Wrestlemania but rather THE guy with the longest reigning title of the modern era.
I loved it when Undertaker showed up at the end of WrestleMania 40! After graduating university around 20-23 years ago, I stopped watching wrestling. After discovering Undertaker's youtube channel as well as Maven's, I was inspired to watch WrestleMania again. I was totally entertained, so much has changed! I didn't know 95% of the wrestlers in the show, but I honestly loved every second of it because it was just so fun!

Much respect to Adam Copeland for saying no to breaking the streak. Brock was made already & didn’t gain anything from it tbh. He didn’t need it. Roman or Bray could’ve used it more.
What did taker whisper in the ear of bray Wyatt?
Same, came back in 2012 and been watching since. God I miss Bray 😢
I’ve been waiting for a long time to hear about Undertaker commenting about Lesnar he said it in this video. “Brock didn’t need to break the streak he was already an established star.” Thank you he should’ve not been the one.

That doesn't mean that Brock wasn't the RIGHT one to end the streak. He just said he didn't need to, but in terms of story telling, Brock was the Beast and they made the right call
The streak shouldnt have ended, but if it did, it shouldve been with a draw. That way, we get the passing of the torch, but Taker is still undefeated.

Fax! like they're both down for the 10 count and that's it. I personally think he should've retired on Raw after End Of An Era. Like "I've fought the best, and I've beaten the best. Now it's time for the Undertaker to RIP" then everyone comes out from the back clapping, he walks up the ramp, looks back one last time, then raises his fist in the air with the thunder and walks out never to be seen again until his HOF speech. Something like that would've been perfect imo

If you're gonna talk about pops, nothing, and I repeat *nothing,* will ever beat Austin's surprise entrance to help Mick Foley win the title from Rock. Austin was at the absolute zenith of his popularity, nobody was expecting him, and that crowd comes unglued. The infamous "that'll put butts in seats" moment- absolute perfection. For a different (but just as exciting) kind of reaction, the rising noise of unbelievable expectation and surprise the King of the Ring '98 crowd makes when Foley starts climbing back on top of the Cell after having already been thrown off it is also sublime.
Wyatt Family is still a very underrated faction

Even though Taker was made absent in the "build-up" to his resurrection match with Bray, Bray seized the opportunity to build it up all on his own for months. People really should go back and watch Bray's dark room promos on Taker that he did before WM31.
Looking good Taker! I need that hoodie though! Any way I can purchase it?
i was hyped when Bo came out as Uncle Howdy and then Bray was gone. I hope Bo gonna continue his legacy. I am sure he wants and he will make it awesome with much respect.
The Fact that Taker acknowledged this man my childhood is complete i've been saying this since the debut feud with Kane they could've tied that story into this as well
NOBODY should have broken the streak. absolute disgrace to have that streak broken.
If they would've let bray be the one to break the streak imagine how much bigger of a star he could've been
I can listen to UT talk about wrestling all day.
That was one of the best nitros ever! Goldberg beating Hogan. Fans who couldn’t afford paperview was able to watch it! I’ll never forget that night.
At 4:13 “theres so much you could’ve done there, you’re not only passing a torch you’re passing spirit” I always said imagine if bray wyatt had ended the streak and got undertaker’s powers
My always favourite undartrkar 😘😻
I said the same thing then, Bray should have been the one to break the streak, maybe even ending Taker's career by taking on his darkness as part of his own in story. Taker could have even continued wrestling as the American Badass Taker if he felt he needed to come back for more matches.
All due respect to Bray and the entire Rotunda family but The Streak should have remained intact.
I will forever say this. Bray or Roman should've one of the only two to end the streak!!! Bc they would've been benefited from that victory more than anyone. Bc Lesnar didn't need that at all to be a believable threat.
The Wyatt family could’ve been something out of resident evil
Waylon Mercy was the Original Bray Wyatt. Dan Spivey was just too old and broken when he became that character
Same time wise...i graduated in 2001 and when they started the What Stone Cold chants is when i stopped watching for the most part and came back when the Wyatt family debuted
Bray should've broke the streak. RIP Legend 🩶
It's 2024 and we got The Undertaker being a podcast host before GTA 6.
The Wyatt Family is straight from True Detective season 1
would love to have the old school ministry back with the new talent and taker as their "higher power".
I remember saying it back then bray was the new undertaker he definitely should have been the one to break the streak it would have pushed him to the next level he really needed
I will never forgive Vince for the way he treated Bray / Windham The only saving grace from it all was that Bray / Windham was so good that it didn’t matter how many times he had to reinvent himself, each & everytime he got better & better I truly believe that there will never ever be anyone like him & even though he is rated so highly, I still feel he is underrated R.I.P to one of the best to do ever do it ❤
All over the world we love the undertaker
Undertaker always reminded me of my Uncle Rick.
Jamie never stops talking
Wrestling is a lot of psychology. Like Taker said you can study why something works and make something. Copying will get you laughed at real quick.
Bray's death to me was right there with Mac Miller in that loss of potential in 2 of my favorite artists in their respective arts. Sometime it just goes that way, but man does it suck.
The Streak should have never been broken. Taker should have just disappeared for like 2 years after the Brock match, and let Brock run with the gimmick that he didn't break the streak, he broke the Undertaker, and then squash Cena like he did. Same heat for Brock without sacrificing the equity of the streak.
Prayers for brays family Jojo and the kids

Bray should not have broken the streak because Noone should have though a full program with taker would have been dope.
Bray was way too young... so much potential
My opinion was Bray should have won in his match against Taker. Even then since that wasn't the case. The fact they never chased it up when the fiend was going after people who "hurt bray" was a lost chance imo
RIP Bray…
Reminded me of some old Kevin Sullivan type vibe. And I think bray could have broken the streak and they could have done so much .

I'm glad taker chose brock even though Brock didn't want to. The streak was meant to live on or be broken by someone who had bested taker before.

he always should have, if anybody
I will always stand on bray being the one to beat the undertaker and end the streak
Bray wasn't the greatest but he had the potential to be one of the greatest. HE IS JUST A ULTIMATE WHAT IF? type of wresler..
Vince didn’t want to push Bray to the extent of an Undertaker, which was a mistake,
Y’all have to ask Taker how he didn’t break character when Kane and Devon did the What’s up on Haku.
Honestly people haven’t even discussed how badass a it would be if we got a sober Jeff hardy winning a royal rumble to face undertaker and redeem his career 😅
Bray had an aura few had
If Bray Wyatt broke the Streak, he could’ve carried around the Urn ⚱️ with him, could’ve talked about the Undertaker’s Urn giving him the power and maybe down the line when the Fiend showed up, could say the Urn brought out the power of the fiend idk
Bray Wyatt couldn’t break the streak because WWE didn’t see him as that calibre.
I love Taker but I wish he would’ve fought for the streak. He has always been a yes man to Vince. I respect the loyalty but he should’ve had the final say in if the streak gets broken.
For me, its Jerichos last entrance @ Wrestlemania 33
We have to let this idea go. Bray had absolutely no move set. Think of all the finishing moves that failed to keep the Undertaker down for three seconds. But Sister Abigail would?
Bray shoulda been the new undertaker. He was the perfect character to take over after the undertaker retired. Just to have those supernatural matches. We need characters that aren't just wrestlers. Where's the creativity?
No one should have broken the streak. That was a mistake
Bray definitely should have either broken the streak or been Taker's retirement match. Each time Taker lost , that was *exactly* my first thought. Neither Lesnar nor Reigns needed it.
At first ge said he thought roman should've broke the streak, now Bray, honestly either of them would've benefited more from it than brock at that point
Passing the URN! I always thought the best storyline they could have done with Bray was for him to covet the URN even more than the titles. Because it's a dark occult object thats never been explained, would have been superb to finally explain it and have him take 'the power of the undertaker, instead Randy orton beats bray with 1 RKO and Seth Rollins beats him in a Hell in a cell (what even are these writers) 🙄
I can't believe a youtuber just chokeslammed the rock 🤣
