Not to mention receiving the LOUDEST, pop of the night!! Funny story, I actually called out "The Undertaker" that night (technically). Let me explain I was at home quietly chanting "Undertaker!" just as Solo came out, then Cena's music hit. I started the chant again when the SHEILD music hit. When the gong actually hit I yelled "HOLY S#!T", at the same time Michael Cole yelled "Holy Christ". I woke up my mom (found that out the next morning).

Wrestlers are too focused on getting all their shit in regardless of the pacing of the match and whether a story is being told.

Taker has the best mind in the business. Obviously as you get older you realize pro wrestling is scripted but back then wrestlers focused on making things look real, they would make you believe they were the characters they potrayed, not only in the ring but also out of the ring they STUCK TO CHARACTER! You wouldn't have heels talking to faces etc. Now days you have every wrestler who hasn't even had 2 years on top start making documentaries. Now days the indie nerds focus on how many high spots and super kicks they can do rather than telling stories. Taker is an absolute legend because he went out of his way to stay in character, we all heard the stories of him only having black in his wardrobe, people believed he was the deadman. There is too much access these days and sometimes its not even the wrestlers fault, just how it is these days with social media, access, etc

Well i can tell you Mark that you had me on the edge of my seat. On MORE than a few occasions. And i consider myself "smart" to this business since i've been in it for a brief period doing promotional marketing for a local indy federation i used to work for. Sure i wasn't in the ring per say but i did that to when i "wanted" to be a pro wrestler. And then realized that it wasn't for me. Bottom line is, that brief stint of doing the marketing and being on the inside you learn the business quick by observing and talking with people. And certainly about things you weren't privy to beforehand. I always love it when you started selling with your character. In the beginning it wasn't so much like that. But i knew that wasn't going to last forever. And i'm glad it didn't because we as fans got to see so many more aspects to your character then we could have ever imagined.

And if youve just slammed a 400lb monster act like it took something from you, like it hurt, sell it properly

Everyone gets caught up in who’s the best “wrestler” like it’s an actual fight. There is a difference between a wrestler and a worker. Taker is a WORKER. And that’s more important. Not Muh MOVEZ.

Too many wrestlers now just sell the moment of impact but don't sell the effects of the move. A perfect example was a so-called great match between Kenny Omega and Vikingo on Dynamite. Vikingo took a brutal-looking knee flush to the face and sold it at that moment like God had punched him. However, Vikingo then immediately hit Kenny with a move a second later and jumped to the top rope without showing any problems at all. That rips me out of the match.

Even though Undertaker is probably my favourite pro wrestler I still have a hard time putting him on mount rushmore. I have Stone Cold,The Rock,Johna Cena and Hogan.

Nothing against Mark Henry, he wasn't the greatest or worst opponent for The Undertaker, he was pretty average. I just wished that they faced a bit later on during Henry's hall of pain run when he was built up like a legit monster, it would have been epic. Their Wrestlemania casket match was okay but it felt like a filler on the card than a big match but Mark Henry did prove that he could hang with the best in the business and showed that he belonged in the ring with a true legend like The Undertaker. Loved hearing their stories about the match and they're both first class human beings

Wrestling is ALL about psychology. Undertaker and Bret Hart are two guys I enjoy just studying why they did the things they did. Working a body part, hitting a move & letting it breathe, stalking a guy after you kick his feet from under him, setting a guy up for your finish. If you hit a guy with 5 superkicks, why would you keep doing it? Thats why Shawn Michaels only ever needed one.
