lol it's not about perfectionism, it's that they have to hide the fact that 90% of the idols suck at singing so they lipsync, pre-record, and autotune the hell out of "live" performances. That kind of mediocre singing wouldn't fly for one second if they were all solo singers (unless you're selena gomez or something)

I honestly don’t know if it’s sustainable. Globally the rest of the world has seemed to move on and/or I haven’t really seen 4th gen groups get the type of world attention their 3rd gen and some 2nd gen groups got. At the very least Ik a common complaint amongst western audiences is that the kpop industry is wayyyy too manufactured and creeps them out. With the rise of “relatably messy” singers/lyrics it seems like the pendulum is swinging. Then again stan groups of all artists everywhere are growing and they’re interested in visuals first actual music content a distant second. Gonna be interesting to see what wins out

That also means they can no wrong cuz if they did, their career can be OVER. They can’t be like us humans who makes mistakes, they have to be perfect. Which ALSO means they have to sing very very great. So yeah it IS about perfectionism.

They don't sing during encore stage they don't sing during comeback stages and even standing in the radio

Back in the 2nd generation, most of the performance are live singing. If you watch the latest highlight's stage, it is clear that they are singing. I think everyone who watches kpop should think about, don't we deserve a REAL singing performance?

@@KinectWars I know you're talking in general, but is good to remember we still have groups like Nmixx, TXT and Stray Kids. There are even more, I just can't remember because I not a dedicate kpop stan anymore Perharps a lot of groups does playback sometimes, it seems to be a way to avoid criticism or smtg like that, cause they're really good live. In this video you can see Oneus as a perfect example of that. They're great, but for some reason they do playback sometimes.

i miss when you could find so many videos of idols singing live. now you have to search high and low for a five second clip of them singing live. live singing, to me, is more pleasing than perfection

No because that is the case with lesserafim I’m hearing everything abt these girls stage presence their cover but when it comes to the fact whether they’re singing live or not its cricket… they have never had a live show since that one fearless stage and everytime I hear something about these girls “slaying” on stage while they’re full on lip syncing just makes me cringe 😭 like just do a performance video at this point because you’re not even giving like a dance crew

@@subliminal5543 Actually there are videos and performances of them where it's CLEAR that they are singing live even in music shows and their voice cracks, being out of breath can be heard but they still kept on going and weren't bad that's why they are getting loads of appreciation and after all they are really great at dancing....

Now fans can't blame the choreo for them not singing, there literally standing there and still lipsync lol

But i don't like how they will say it's live but then give us lip sync .but we can't blame them , they have to appear in these radio shows for promotion and most fans are thirsty for live vocals so putting ' live ' on the title gets them a click .

@@memamay and what perfection is expected when there's no choreo? perfect standing? fans need to be less hyperoverprotective. so yall said if they don't sing perfect they will get criticized. but they get criticized for absurd reasons everyday. if they get criticized for not doing their job well at least that's a valid criticism they can learn from. but fans instead are making it seem like they need to be sheltered from this valid kind of criticism of all things, by defending for them to not even sing live in the most basic kind of performance where there's no stress for perfecting choreo etc.

i just wanted to say i'm so grateful there's people who make these kind if videos, cause i find it genuinely difficult to figure out myself when something is live or not a lot of the time. these videos really help me. and also reassure me that most idols do all, lipsync, live, autotune, cause there's so much unnecessary fighting about who does what and it's so stupid

And there is smthg called LIVE AR too which even more harder to identify cz idols record their breaths and sighs and ornaments hitting into the mic to make it sound like they are singing live but its all recorded in a studio and they lipsync to that. There's smthg called LIVE AR (Open mic) too, this is where the mic of these grps are ON BUT they don't sing. They let the live AR do the work and only fill in some sounds in the middle of a verse. So fans think that mic is on but they actually get fooled by this. Its sad.

Prerecorded vocals also make it difficult because it technically a "live" recording but not being sung in the performance you're watching. So you hear the breaths and the mic pops, but the easiest way to tell is look for expressions, when they do high notes or belt notes do they look blank? If they do then they're most likely lip syncing, now that doesn't mean they have to look like they're struggling cause while that shows they're singing live it also shows they use unhealthy techiques to sing high/belt notes. Another good way to tell is to try and match up the movements with the vocals, cause it doesn't matter how good stability a person has, it is literally impossible to keep a clean sound when jumping/doing intense moves. Even someone as talented as Beyonce can't do it, and she is the queen of stability. And it has nothing to do with talent, it's just a human thing. If a group is preforming and very choreo intense song putting all their energy and there's never an ounce of the vocals being imperfect at all, it's lipsync. Another small thing to look for, though it isn't a for-sure one, jewelery. Bracelets, neckalces, etc. They WILL make noise, and it WILL be heard is near the mic. If you hear it, they aren't lipsyncing. Though not hearing doesn't necesarily mean they aren't singing live. Now how to tell autotune. You can tell there's autotune when there's like a robotic sound to their voice, if I had to describe it, think like the robotic filter that they use in EXO's song Lotte, obviously in that song it's used for stylistic purposes but it's helps you get an idea of what to look for in more subtler cases. Sometimes you'll hear a slight robot trill on longer notes, but that's rare because you only hear when someone messes up a notes kinda bad. Autotune tends to be more subtle but still obvious because it gives the idols voice an almost metallic sound. I personally the metalic sound it gives idols voices, cause I find it grating to my ears, so I tend to notice it very easy cause in a weird way it makes my ears almost itchy lol.

as a choral student: when trying to figure out whether or not someone is singing, always look for facials! no one hits high notes without looking like theyre trying at least a little. singing requires a lot of facials muscles(just look at jongho from ateez when he hits his notes!!)

You should also look at their throats!! If their throat moves, or gets slimmer while doing a high note then it means they aren't lip syncing, many of them can change their facial expressions and they can make you think they're actually live singing

And other body parts too! Siyeon from Dreamcatcher does like 99% of her high notes live and while she can maybe train her face to do the expressions she always does, you can not only feel it (different energy watching her), but if she has a hand-held mic she is leaning forward to the side and wiggles her pinky that holds the mic. I assume that every singer has something like that, for example as shown in the video I think Lily from NMIXX has so much happening in her face that it's very obvious when she's not singing live (although the high notes for Love me like that aren't as insane and she's so good that it's not as obvious now. But for Dice I think you can see it)

omg yes i noticed lily's blank expression too i got so confused. how does one hit a g5 barely any facial movement. and the andromeda it's live channel really needs to be called out. they go to the trouble of preparing a live band and performance then autotune it all. on top of that, it's really STRONG autotune. i watched viviz's concert and they didn't autotune viviz singing in the car but when sinb sang 2 lines of loveade for fans even those 10 seconds got autotuned. it's ridiculous! and dingo's killing voice needs to be called out too. they promote themselves as live vocals but have edited and smoothed everything before upload

Nayeon is also the center and normally the center in groups gets solo first like Jennie also got solo first in Blackpink, also Heejin from Loona got the solo first.

Every time there's an award show or gayo, I see cue sheets being leaked and most idols have LAR as audio of choice which is basically a prerecorded version of the song that includes the sounds of laboured breathing to add to the realism. And most of the idols use this, each time there's a show, only two or three performance use a backing track including only music. Even idols famous for their vocals like exo or txt often use lar version.

@@skzlegend 'live mr' is also full lipsyncing though but without the sounds of laboured breathing that would add to the fantasy. I don't think I've even seen cdr though. I can't even find it on Google tbh. The only audios when idols sing live are: MR (music recorded - some lines may be prerecorded but at least it's partially sung live) and 'band' which rarely happens druign kpop shows and mostly for indie artists. And cuesheets are accurate because it's the thing that everyone in the crew works with. Any music festival/ tv show or whatever has one of those anywhere you go. MR removed is actually the thing that I don't trust, it's too easy for someone to tweak something to make the celebs look better or worse. And I mean, if you're fine with lipsyncing and enjoy the performance then good for you. However, I prefer them to at least sometimes show off their abilities. I'll have more respect for someone who takes that risk.

Joy’s voice is pretty consistent live, auto tuned to the lip sync version. 💚

Just a little note (because it kinda connfusing for a lot of people), Autotune is a plugin, which corrects notes to the destined ranges automatically as the sound go through the input devices (microphones) hence the name Autotune. Usually, prerecorded vocals are tuned, but didn't necessarily use Autotune. So the correct way to say it is that some of those vocals were tuned (which is the process after the recordings, to correct only some of the notes that were flat). :D Vocals that goes through Autotune usually sounds robotic and snappy because every note was corrected automatically by the plugin. You can hear them in a lot on rapper's vocals (usually for aesthetic purposes and artistic choices.) Additional note: You can sing live with Autotune because it's a plugin that directly goes to the software, and automatically tune the notes. But tuned vocals are recorded vocals that are "edited" afterwards in the processing stage. 👍 Oh also, there are many singers who sing really high notes with a really relaxed to almost no expression face, sometimes they added expressions when singing high to add to the feelings or to emphasize the lyrics and techniques. So we can't really decide whether the artist is singing live or not just based on just their expressions. :D (I'm saying this as a singer who often scolded by my coach because of the lack of expression even tho I was singing high notes and she said I sang like a robot🥲I need more practice)

@@hajimarayo kind of! pre recorded vocals are usually recorded in one take, in the venue, using the microphones used in the performance later on. This is so that the audience can still experience “live” vocals instead of the studio recordings (mostly for dynamic purposes) and the artist can dance and move freely without worry of running out of breath, cracking etc! Backing track on the other hand is usually recorded in a studio with a studio mic (sometimes with a live arrangement of the vocals instead of the regular lead melody) Hope that helped a little😎🫶

Sometimes they do like marking (dance marking) at the same time to feed into the illusion, I remember once a few friends of mine did that for a tv performance! sometimes also, only some parts are pre recorded, like where they know the choreo is extra hard, and sing the easy parts live !

for me their raw vocals in live performances are so much more beautiful and attractive than the autotuned ones

One thing i hate about kpop is that it is very very very rare to hear their raw voices without help of autotune and backtrack. It's understandable if they were dancing but when they're just standing or sitting down, i wish they would sing live. There's nothing wrong when fans demand them to sing live more because it's literally their job. It's the bare minimum of being an idol.

Ive members have such beautiful voices, they even sounded good in the live encore. There's no reason for them to lipsynch so much! Of course they're not perfect but they're still a young group. This industry is getting so frustrating to be a fan in lately. I remember when I first became a fan of kpop in the 2nd gen and I was so impressed that these groups could both sing AND dance at such a high level. Live performances are so important to the experience of being a kpop fan to me, I don't know if it's just the new 4th gen fans or what that value "perfection" over authenticity but to me it's incredibly boring to watch 10 performances with all of the same perfect vocals. Idols are at their best when they feel the music and let go.

But lipsync/playback was very common in 2nd generation, it's more like it got less and less common and now it's back again. I think if they could just be honest/clear about when it's live or not, then it's not a huge problem. But it feels wrong when they don't show this clearly, then it's like they want to fool people into believing it's live. And that is so wrong.

in the past it was very much used if the idols were too busy with promotions. it's completely ok to use prerecorded sometimes. but now recent kpop refuses to let idols sing bro. 1 outta 13 stages would be live and even then the backtrack is too loud. these idols can sing but agencies are obsessed with the image of perfection.

It's how I was able to justify to my father that I became a kpopper at almost 30. Look at them, dancing and singing at the same time, that is impressive! Now we have glorified cover groups consisting of teenagers, mouthing and dancing at the same time while wearing pretty clothes and too much plastic surgery. Kpop has lost a lot of its appeal with the over manufactured 4th gen.

Also, hearing live singing that is good, usually can impress much more then the other. Sure, they might be more safe this way, but what they should want is to stand out more with the talent behind all that. It's sad indeed, they are so coward.

TREASURE sounds WAYYY better live than with autotune. Luckily they get to sing live at their concerts and almost all stages 😭

The fact that when the idols aren’t even moving or having to think about anything besides singing (choreo, facial expressions, etc), they still don’t let them sing live, or if they do it’s basically like they don’t. It’s Live and Killing Voice have been mentioned already, but stuff like Lee Mujin Service are also so heavily edited even though they’re literally sitting on a bench. It just makes me sad, it’s hard to hear how idols actually sound lately, it wouldn’t surprise me if they even start autotuning the studio recording videos.

But many of Lee Mujins performances are their actual voices..Some are Autotuned though

this makes me miss those days when radio shows would release two different clips of idol performances(at least for the group i followed)..one with the song audio backtrack and the other purely vocals. no background music/minus one whatsoever. i don't know if all shows did that or just one. but it was satisfying hearing my group utilising their many members harmonizing and doing adlibs etc. to produce complete sound since there's no backtrack at all.

Finally! These are so interesting. Wow companies are shameless. Tbh that infamous clip of GFRIEND caught lip singing years ago was pre-recorded to sound live so imagine how fake some the ones that sound authentic are.

Lol I remember that Oneus radio performance, thinking I was going crazy, like surely they wouldn't make them lipsynch on a radio show when they were singing the song live all the time on music shows - interesting to find out that that's just what this radio show does with everyone, apparently.

People in the comments keep saying “well, they’re idols, not singers”. I don’t know if all of you saying that is newer kpop fans, but I’ve been listening to kpop for more than 10 years and the second/first gen idols were also called/being referred to as “idols”, yet they were singing live more often. Yes, they’re not just singers. They’re “idols” who sing and dance on stage, do variety shows, and maybe some of them are into modeling and acting. But singing is still their main job, right? So I think, it’s understandable if some of us want them to sing live more often. For people who enjoy kpop for their music and their vocals, listening to their fav songs being sung live or listening to our fav vocalists live would be a very enjoyable experience.

Kpop is music, it supposed to be about sounds not visuals, height etc. They are singers in the first place, not model.

Treasure can definitely deliver. I like it better with their LIVE voices. You can say that they are a singers that can sing 🙂

The last place for live, non-pitch corrected vocals has been captured 😭

As for treasure they still sing live but its not their fault if the station/post production aims for perfection. I remember back in their rookie days, their performance was edited out and reuploaded because you can hear laughs in the middle of the performance.

What you said about Suyun is actually quite sad. I think they’re pushing her because she’s kind of the main vocalist but although they’re a powerhouse for good vocalists, she can also be a good vocalist if they train her properly and let her sing in her range..

KPOP has the worst vocal training. They literally tell idols to just scream. She has lots of potential too for improving her range. The thing is they don't need to shove high notes in either, Suyuns vocal is pretty good for the bulk of singing any melody.

I don't think Suyun was ever even supposed to be the main vocalist, they probably expected Chaewon and Eunbi to be the vocal line but then IZ*ONE happened

@SHANLIÉ I mean previous generations had some considerably better training for either the whole group or made more of an effort to obtain members with at least some training aside from a properly trained main or lead vocalist. Take 100% for example, but I guess it has become too much of a hassle and pointless expense even though the idols are still being used for music....

I feel like the kpop industry has maneuvered itself into a position where it's impossible to compete without lipsyncing most if not all the performances. First of all: being able to sing and dance well while also having good looks is incredibly rare. On top of that choreos have become much harder over time while songs still contain difficult to sing sections or really high pitched notes that are IMPOSSIBLE to sing properly while dancing. Overall I feel like companies now prioritize dancing over singing abilities since they have to rely on lip syncing during the choreos anyway. So they now autotune basically everything to avoid the online harrassment that will inevitably happen if any group admits that they cannot actually sing their songs live. IMO kpop fans also have to take a part of the blame here. Edit: forcing female idols into higher vocal ranges they are not comfortable with for aesthetic reasons is not helping either.

ur so right, 4th gen is basically a dance competition. you could say the choreos r much harder compared to prev gens but the thing is prev gens had to also have stable vocals while doing their choreos which is a skill itself. having eh vocals is accepted now bc as long as ur a good dancer it's aight. performances = cool hard choreo - vocals. but the thing is many groups have hard choreos but stages r still a bit dull even compared to past groups with not as difficult choreo... it's a difference in what companies look for nowadays which r visuals and dance and underdeveloped vocals

THIS. I agree that fans kinda take part in this though. People want perfection so much that the human part of idols on stage is slowly fading.. I can just hope sometimes companies (or maybe kpop in the future) can balance the song+choreo more. I mean, if the song seems hard, tone down the choreo a bit so they still can sing properly. Meanwhile if the dance is complicated, tone down the song's difficulty

Idk, we think like that but in reality most people are annoyed by this trend. Yes, idols can't do anything right and if they would sing live there would be haters too but just think of the positive attention groups get that actually sing live. I remember when Fifty Fifty debuted they immediately stood out because they were like the only group that did ever single music show performance live as absolute rookies. It has gotten so ridiculous that you can use live singing as a marketing advantage now. You can also go viral with insanely good performances so I actually don't get why more small companies try it. It's not like they have something to lose anyway. But maybe they don't have the money for proper vocal training either. As for the big companies, idk what their reasons are. SM has fantastic vocalists but never does live singing unless it's in a very controlled environment it seems, so maybe they are truly so afraid of their idols making mistakes that they'd rather get the hate for lip-syncing everything.

Fans only have themselves to blame. Excessive nitpicking, stan wars, and majority of fans buying and supporting content based on visuals first and music a distant second have all led to this. It also does not help that most of these fans use these groups as extensions of themselves and their identity, so valid critique gets drowned out due to Stans seeing it as an attack on themselves. Music companies have no incentive beyond trying to deliver profits if they’re doing the bare minimum. Doesn’t help that fans will buy, support, and stream anythingggg in massive numbers that comes out regardless of if it’s actually good or not. The industry has tricked fans into thinking they need to do this, because it’s so cutthroat, but the reality is just that the kpop market is over saturated. If fans would be realistic with themselves they would take a step back and start using a critical ear, but pretty sells so

I feel like the problem is that 1) the companies don‘t properly train their idols anymore, especially when it comes to singing and 2) apparently now it’s visuals > talent. 3) it‘s like everyone only cares about having the most extravagent MVs, the most views and feeding even more into the supposedly flawless and unrealistic beauty standrards. It‘s a shame because hardly any of the groups these day feel like actual artists.

kpop idols used to train for years and years, now they only train for months and debut as minors.

Okay, I can understand idols not singing live when they’re doing hard choreography on stage…but for radio, they’re literally just standing still. 😅 Why don’t the agencies allow them to sing? If they don’t even sing when standing still, when do they ever get to sing?

Oneus did pretty great with the Live radio. Bring it on is so layered it's definitely hard to sing without a backtrack but they slayeddd. I guess it's that one radio show that's making them all lip sync.

I understand a bit why some artists lipsync to some extent... they have a bajillion schedules where they need to "sing" back to back. They have to protect their vocal chords... the problem is some groups absolutely abuse it and rarely sing live which is ridiculous.

As a kpop fan since 2012, the change is very clear to me, before it is rare to find lipsync performances, now it is very rare to find a clear live performance (by clear i mean mic volumes are obviously high with breathing etc. to the point were u dont doubt wether it is live but with autotune/voice corrector or very loud backtrack, or pre-recorded or just plain lipsync) its like a treasure hunting in this generation.. weird

Unless in the studio, they do edit/correction a lot so that the sounds come out actually impossible to replicate. 🤔

sadly kpop is more about the visuals than the actual talent and art

i don't know with y'all.. but i can really tell if an artist/singer doing a live or lipsync performance, specially if u see them in person.. It's really obvious and it looks so awkward if they do lipsyncing..

I love when we can talk about this topic because I know so many kids and younger fans don’t understand what goes on behind the scenes in kpop…..they’re becoming used to the auto tune and pre recordings 😮‍💨 We need to be able to distinguish live singing from prerecorded, etc. There’s no hate to idols who don’t sing live because it’s usually not their choice….but this is creating unreasonable expectations for what real live singing sounds like! It’s never perfect, but it doesn’t need to be

after years of liking kpop, it’s real easy to tell the difference, so i hope people understand it too

It really makes u ask why the hell they're idol singers if they don't sing on radio shows. Live singing while dancing is hard af so I obviously don't expect them to but c'mon at least sing live on encores and radio shows...

if the kpop industry continues to be afraid of singing live, atp no one's gonna give credit to actual vocalists in this field. i feel bad for the talented vocalists out there who actually took the time and effort to enhance their skills.

Your Art is BREATHTAKING. If I can ever get my hands on extra $$$, I will 100% buy some. Your channel is EYE-OPENING! I have learned so much between the difference of live versus autotune that I can spot it just about anywhere. I will admit it was hard for me at first, but now I hear it so glaringly. The interesting thing is if the artist has a voice that doesn’t need auto tune, you won’t hear the distortion. You only hear it when the artist messes up or doesn’t hit the note/is flat. Thank you for doing this for us. More people need to come to your channel and see how these companies are trying to fool us because I don’t blame the artists. No one is perfect, and I value every voice crack, every missed note, every little “mistake” because at least it is natural and way less boring. 💯❤😊

Great video! These are my thoughts exactly when I see some fans mistaking performances as live when they aren't. After many years of kpop I've managed to pick up on the differences - and you've explained them so well with lots of examples! 👍👍

Why do they try so hard to make even radio performances such an overly produced thing. Like god just sing. Also your right RedVelvet are the only SM Idols left even willing to go on radio now let alone encores. Aespa lip sync 1 encore already (I have hope for their future tho) and Suju. EXO, NCT, Shinee, and all their soloists wont even touch a microphone thats turned on these days. They suddenly don't want to get an award if it means singing an encore....

Chen and Onew did sing live during their comebacks this year tho. But yeah the first SM artist I noticed that sang live this year was Onew, with his On the Way performances, and then Red Velvet during their In My Dreams althought with a loud backtrack but still live, also Red velvet sang live during festivals, and during the SM Concert Red velvet were few of the artist that sang live.

I think that the pre-recorded showcase of NMIXX is live. Clearly throughout the song you hear their hands and accessories making noises and inflections in their voices that align with actions they do. Sullyoon's highnote is almost never sung on broadcasts. Lily, at her level, I'm not surprised at the relaxed face hitting high notes. The It's Live performance is disappointingly autotuned, unfortunately. It's supposed to be live, but they love their tweaking over there.

I thought it was live too at first but as it went on some parts didn't line up. Like at 6:27 Sullyoon didn't sing that while jumping. That is physically impossible. It's also possible it was live and their mistakes were later edited out with the backtrack. Vixx did something similar with a few shangri-la stages. The mics were on so you could hear their fans/ props opening, but the vocals were pre-recorded.

NMixx lip syncs and they’re voices are auto toned just like everyone else. Doesn’t mean they can’t sing. They are better than average that’s for sure but it’s clear most of what is put out is auto toned

@@essavanz Autotune is rampant in Kpop, yes, and NMIXX is subject to it in countless "live" shows. That doesn't discount, however, the fact that they can sing /in tune/ and even while in non-optimal positions and harmonised (see: KBS interview acapella O.O, DICE Karaoke in Nmixx Wonderland, ABCDEFU Cover in KCON not the official version, and almost all karaoke performances of NMIXX). Their recording behinds are also great, especially Funky Glitter Christmas, but they are of course some of their best vocals conditions and not dancing. Music shows have an almost impossible standard of perfection in singing while dancing, but NMIXX is very commendable in showing effort and doing their best to perform live, even with backtrack, in countless if not all shows, despite their flats, sharps, and voice cracks. Their last few music shows, especially on mnet ep 773, for DICE had good balancing of backtrack and vocals, so I suggest those videos to whoever might want to hear them better while performing.

The reason they do that is that fans love fake voices and don't support idols when they do sing live, even IU sings with autone or doesn't sing live... They don't understand why focus on dance and forget the other part. People nowadays don't know what a real voice sounds like :(

Kpop isn't about vocals anymore. It's about unnecessarily complicated and over the top choreographies (guys) or looking pretty (girls)

could you make a video about that show where the main vocal of idol groups (and other artists) go to cover a few songs live? i think it's lee mujin's show, there's no way it's 100% live, they all sound way too perfect! love your videos 💗

I grew up with kpop since 2nd Gen and find it so disheartening that they aren't singing live even when standing still at radio shows and I just know the korean public is probably over it, too. The job of an idol was still considered a singer. They were singers before they were performers. Now it seems like they are performers more than singers.

Liz is an amazing singer but bc they don’t let her showcase her vocals more often she’s always forgotten as one of the best 4th gen female vocalists. Is soo sad cause her voice projection plus how clean her vocals are always underrated!!!

I love videos like this because it shows that idols can in fact sing and sing live, they just don’t. Like I notice with a lot of Aespa fans, they equate people talking about Aespa’s lip syncing with they can’t sing, which isn’t true. I know IVE can sing, I DEFINITELY KNOW Treasure and Especially ONEUS can sing, I known NMIXX esp lily and Aespa can sing. They all have at least one top tier vocalist, but they don’t sing live. And I wish people would stop making it out to be the end of the world. I don’t care if idols lipsync, I just care that they do it good (or be like BoA and Taeyeon and don’t even bother opening your mouth during a stage 😂). The only thing I wished for was during encores and ACTUAL CONCERTS (I told my grandma that idols lipsync at concerts and she said “well you won’t be getting money from me to go and they don’t SING” 😭😭). But I enjoy these videos because it makes them seem more realistic. Like again, I know they can sing but watching lily stare into the camera during a “live” performance with literally only her mouth moving just seems odd when they try to market it as live when she’s not even putting in the energy to hit the note 😭

Because the autotune wasn't to alter or smooth their voices but they tried to blend it with the background sound so that there is not 2 voices , in my opinion they should just use the instruments and let them do the rest, the background voice was very unnecessary

You have to listen to Treasure's MR removed 💜💜💜💎💎 Even since the debut they had a difficult choreography and they still sang live 🥺💝

For oneus they rly try hard to sing over the music but sometimes it’s not possible bc the editing is done on top (after recording live), you can tell at 3:15

But most of the clips (for example Joy,IVE,NMIXX) you said lipsynced were actually very loud track with live vocals so still could be considered live imo

i don't even understand why they stand in front of the mic, without did the hard choreo, but still lip sync? what's the point they prepared the mic? to fool us?

Yes but unfortunately most of fans are foolish, they believe that live show and performance are 100% are live singing when it's almost autotuned pre-recorded vocals.

It’s crazy to me cause they sound great live so why don’t they let them just sing live in these shows. They’re great already

Thank you for making this video! very informative! I wish more people could see this since a lot of stans are quite defensive when we talk about idols singing live. It's sad that companies and shows now prefer pre-recorded vocals when these idols train really hard for this. Must be frustrating to work your butt off as a trainee then after debut they just tell you lipsync. I hope you continue to make these kinds of videos, more power to your channel!
