Just installed this in my 2020. Like others have said, the hardest part for me was working around the factory power connector. Stubborn connectors, tight space, and you can't really see what you're doing. Aside from that, piece of cake. Thanks for this video and this product!

Just got done installing mine on my 2021 Pilot. Very helpful video, although I don't know why you would say removing the wireless charging pad was the worst part of the installation. That took 2 seconds. What I struggled with was unhooking the power socket connector. Honda didn't leave much room in there especially if you have large hands. I found a useful tip in the comments of videos for other Honda models which suggested trying it from the passenger side, which did the trick for me. Having said all that it works like a charm! This fixes the one thing that I absolutely loathed about my Pilot, so I couldn't be happier.

Thanks for this video. Just installed Idlestopper on my Pilot. I had a hard time removing the factor black power connector. I ended up using a long flat screwdriver in 1 hand to wiggle off the connector while pushing on the upside down tab with other hand. Otherwise, it was very easy installation.

Just installed this on my '21 Pilot. It works! SAVE YOURSELF FRUSTRATION! That tab that the tech says needs to be pushed in (2:38), is NOT the case. It actually needs to be pulled away from the plug body. I tried on three separate days to get it to work the way he shows it. Didn't work. I finally got a 90 degree pick tool and a long flat screwdriver, worked the pick tool above the tab and pushed DOWN, applied pressure with the screwdriver, and off it came! Finally! I was so happy to be able to continue with the rest of the install! Now, looking to install another one on my wife's new '24 Passport.

THANK YOU SO MUCH!! Your tip saved me! I spent half an hour trying to pull that plug out. Ripped up my hands and broke my back trying every angle. Finally went back to this video and read the comments and your suggestion was spot on. I used an awl with a bent tip and a long screw driver just like you described. I used the new plug as reference to know how to place them, and after a little playing around to get them in position the plug popped out without much force. Really appreciate you posting this.

I just installed this on my wife's early 2023 Pilot... same setup as this. Instructions were spot on. The hardest part is getting your hand in to remove the power connector. If you put your hand in sideways and then turn it to face the connector, it's not too bad. Looking carefully at the orientation of the connector first really helps. I saw the comments on the 2023-2024 vid... I've worked on my cars for 40 years... mechanics deal with these scenarios all the time. Great product and great instructions! TYSM for a nuisance remover.

installed on my '20 pilot after getting stranded by a no-start condition at a busy intersection in florida. battery was flat busted and i had to replace with an autozone battery at $230. battery was toast due to auto stop/start. easy install on '20 pilot. 10 minutes tops to do it. while this may be cost-prohibitive for some folks, just know that it works great and is a permanent solution.

Thanks for being a customer! It is very dangerous to be stuck at an intersection and we are glad to help provide peace of mind that it won’t happen again.

When I'm at stop signs and the car shuts off and my car pauses unecessarily and sometimes creates dangerous situations where people think I'm waiting and then we both go at the same time. No more taking extra seconds to start going at intersections. With this switch, it's so much better than pressing a button every single time I start my car. I had this for my 2018 pilot and bought it again for my 2021 pilot. I will never drive without this ever again.

Sorry to hear that you are having troubles with the connection coming loose. Some of them seem to be tighter than others. I would suggest to try while sitting in the passenger seat at a different angle. The other suggestion would be to focus on wiggling the connection while pulling in the off direction. With the tab pressed down, wiggle a few times up and down and side to Side, then start pulling while still holding the tab. If you need a reference for the release tab location and feel, the idlestopper module has the exact same factory connector. I hope you get it! Also make sure to wrap a towel around the opening so you don’t cut your arm on the under dash area.

@@idlestopper7486 Will give that a shot. I felt like I was wiggling it pretty hard but it's hard to tell if I have the tab pushed down enough to unlatch.

Yeah screw that! That more effort than I’m willing to put in.

It’s not that bad but it’s also not super easy to install our module, but the pilot console does come apart with little effort. 15-20 minutes of install time is much better than having to disable manually each startup. Not for everyone’s mechanical capabilities and that’s ok, it’s totally whatever you are comfortable with😊

Why not just tap the button to turn it off when you hit reverse or drive each time. It becomes a habit after just a few times.

I always do, but the one time my wife was driving she left it on and she broke down in traffic and wasn’t able to restart for 1 minute.

Because if you forget to do so it will breakdown & I'm not putting my wife or my 4 year old son in a dangerous situation. Honda should have a fix or bypass for this stupid button but they will not do anything about it. I will be doing this bypass asap.
