@@Karma-pq9fi ima assume you caught up with TYBW because its obvious that white was never a separate entity. both him and old man 'zangetsu' were always protecting ichigo as Zangetsu. Back in SS arc, how many times did the hollow mask save Ichigo from fatal injuries. Even at the end of Zaraki fight, we saw Ichigo powering up and the energy turned into the face of a hollow mask. Then Byakuya, white had to show himself in order to beat Byakuya, only to be interfered by Ichigo. He was always trying to save Ichigo's life. It was never about dominance. He wanted to push Ichigo further so Ichigo doesnt falter and regret his own powers. Ichigo never accepted his own powers until TYBW because he believed the hollow to be a separate entity trying to take control of him. When in reality, white was Ichigo's powers. He cannot take over no more than a zanpakuto can take over a shinigami. Hes always been part of Ichigo's soul. This full hollow form was him pulling out the full force of Ichigo's hollow powers in order to protect Ichigo and fulfil Ichigo's wish of protecting Orihime.

1:20 this right here. The mental break Orihime has seeing Ichigo dead sells this scene completely. This is a person who has seen the people she cares about die and more then once.

Ichigo flipped the tides so hard that it felt like Ulquiorra became the protagonist!😅

Residual spiritual pressure makes Orihime healing difficult and her mental state affects potency as well.

@@magortom - an easier way to explain is something like: she has a hard time healing "burns" (the residual SP) from condensed spiritual pressure attacks. If it's cut clean with a sword, boom, no problem.

Not really, the spiritual pressure that made healing difficult was that of the "inner hollow", the same happened the first time Ulquiorra pierced Ichigo's chest.

@@dantes4780 yea it was White affecting it, since Ichigo dying would mean him dying, since we seen how the black reiatsu pulled out of Orihime then and flew to Ichigo fatal injury Since control was passed to White instead of Old man, White needs to be the one to do the protecting unlike back then during Zaraki fight, Old Man was in control, so his protection is by sealing the blood to "sustain" him longer and help compress his reiatsu

At 13:10, hollow ichigo did the “disrespect” move back to ulquiora, where he was moving towards him head first, then suddenly grabbed his head from the side. Showing there is some sanity and intent, and pure disrespect for ulquiora in the attacks. Just this time it was from ulquiora’s PoV

It's because Ulquiorra was slowly developing human-like emotions that he needed to question everything action that Ichigo, Orihime and even Ishida took. None of the other Arrancar ever bother to question the action of others (even more mentally developed ones like Nelliel), because they followed their own instinct. Only Ulquiorra bothered to do so, because he was slowly changing inside, which he even knew himself.

Hollows reproducing isn't really an issue for the Gotei as long as it's not fast enough to tip the balance between worlds (and that would be kinda easy to fix, they just need to raid Hueco Mundo and purify enough hollows)

Hollow Ichigo - 'If you die, your body is mine.' Ulquiorra - 'his spiritual pressure is volitile. When it's low it's insignificant but when it's high, it's higher than my own.' Paraphrasing from memory but this was all there + more. I personally believe Bleach could've benefited from more very quick flashback moments during these & similarly ambiguous scenes.

One of my favorite signs of foreshadowing from Kubo in the series is when ichigo fights white ichigo and defeats him, and white ichigo gives him the speech to not die or he’ll take control hence this whole transformation. But the best part is that he says he’ll literally stomp on his head, which he actually does to Ulquiorra.

flash step = use of spiritual energy. detectable. sonido = purely physical and like Ulquiorra said it went undetectable from his pesquisa

BTW Ulquiorra's lance explosion when compared to the size of Los Noches (the castle thing, estimated to be roughly the size of Texas), the blast size is estimated to have enough power to wipe out the state of California completely and not only did ichigo crushed a literal NUKE with his bare hand, he neutralized it...that some crazy shit!

(lightning spear) is >>>cero oscuras which is at least on par with the gran Rey cero that threatens to destroy all of las noches. People don't talk about the lightning attack because Ichigo made it look like nothing but its easily one of the strongest attacks we've seen yet.

Ulquiorra killed this man twice and every time he came back whether it was Orhime or the inner hollow White taking over Ichigos body so if you really think about Ulquiorra is 2-0 against Ichigo he lost to his inner hollow and Ichigo couldn’t beat him

It's stated in databooks that this form is due to Orihime crying resonating with his hollow. So it's his Hollow and Orihime that made him turn like this. As you've already seen next episode, you can see it when the only words that his hollow was saying were "protect her"

Nice! One of the hypest moments in the series. Especially since we had no real explanation about what was going on with Ichigo and this power at the time. The fact that this form does not appear again always made me mad thinking about how it would have fared against Aizen. It seemed like the most powerful Ichigo was ever portrayed in the series.

Yeah, I like the Sonido sound better. And Sonido ignores Pesquisa which is the Arrancar's way of detecting spiritual pressure.

This battle was supposed to be more even. 2nd Ulq and Hollow Ichigo was supposed to be roughly equal in power, but Kubo's editors made him hurry up and get back to Aizen, which is why Hollow Ighigo stomps. In the beginning of the Hell Verse movie, the scene was redone more in line with what Kubo wanted, with them having a more balanced fight.

Anime censors a lot of things. In the manga Quimera Parca is seen ripping Rangiku's stomach out. It is also seen in the Manga that Ulquiorra cuts off Ishida's arm.

Flash Step is a Shinigami teleportation. Sonido is Arrancar teleportation, but bit faster as Flash Step.

This old school bleach is no where near the new bleach 2022. So much bloody and head / body parts cutting off. I’m glad they went all out on the new bleach

Vasto Lorde Ichigo is just Peak

One of the best fights in Bleach! BTW. remember Ichigo's inner hollow telling him he'll take over his body if he dies... Well. Here it is. Nothing to do with Orihime. Oh, and don't disrespect my boy Ulquiorra. He doesn't lie or hype himself up. He speaks only what he knows, but he's learning as he goes. He's just trying to understand things. And Ulquiorra was Vasto Lorde Hollow, meaning he was incredbily powerful even before becoming an Arrancar.

So in the anime Uryu's arm is broken but in the manga source material his arm is ripped off completely. Ichigo's hallow saves him from death.

I love how Zangetsu fights, wish we could have seen more

I figure Ichigo could observe/hear Orihime ‘cause he hadn’t reached complete, cellular death. Like, it reminded me of the rumor that even after you are beheaded, the electrical signals within your brain will still be firing for a few more moments, meaning you could potentially still see as your head was lifted to the crowd. …Kinda like a chicken “running” with it’s head cut off. With Orihime trying healing him, and his “death” still only moments before, his brain probably had enough neurons scrambling in panic to kinda “out-of-body” observe her, and want to protect her. (Still some heavy plot armor, tho… but I guess hollows get to heal after their Resurrección, so Ichigo had that going for him too…)

Yah just checked the manga chapters, since i never read it before. And when uryu arm was broken, it was suppose to be ripped off.

Actually, when a person is dead, auditory functions would still be working in a span of a few minutes. As the brain still is active even if the heart stops, it's a fact that a person can hear their surroundings.

I totaly agree with you till that last part.. Ichigo definitely heard Orihime's cries and screams but it wasn't the reason why Ichigo stook back, infact Ichigo doesn't have the power to come back from that, he doesn't have a recolection that he stood and fought. The one who stood and fought was Shirosaki (hollow Ichigo) not to save Orihime or Ishida but to save and protect Ichigo, beause that's his purpose, same goes for Zangetsu... It was clearly showed in the Final getsuga training.

In the manga Ishida's whole arm was missing but the show censored it

Well, let's put it this way--Byakuya was EXTREMELY lucky that he didn't actually kill Ichigo back then, as Ichigo would likely have gone full final boss mode on him. The casualties in Soul Society would have been enormous.

The whole not worthy thing has to do with the fact that Ichigo is still technically human. The Espada may have started that way, but they became something else. They're supposed to be better than humanity. Then Ichigo goes full on Vasto Lorde and rocks Ulquiorra's shit. A human transcends anything they thought possible and immediately gives hands.

I'm a big fan of ichigos vasto Lorde form his vasto Lorde power comes out desperation for a killing type power

This episode is 🔥, and there are several interpretations with regards to Ichigo's comeback. The prominent one is due to Orihime's Power and/or cries and call for help, though Ichigo heard her, he doesn't power to come back from that injury, and the fact that till this day most people think that the reason for Ichigo's revival is due to Orihime's power and Ichigo's will is preplexing..I refuse to belive that Bleach asspulled a power of friendship this time. The one who stood up and fought was Shirosaki (hollow Ichigo), it is consistent to his character. Whenever Ichigo is in a pinch, Shirosaki swoops in and saves Ichigo's ass. It happened several times throughout the series, i.e. Byakuya and the Spider Doll (Bount arc) It was cleared on his Dangai traing.. Both Zangetsu/Shirosaki's purpose is to protect Ichigo. That's why I do believe that the one saying..'I will...Protect you' is both Zangetsu and Shirosaki.
