Ibuprofen and Naproxen (Advil/Motrin/Aleve)

Ibuprofen is another one of the most commonly prescribed drugs in the world, and is also another NSAID. It was developed in the 1960s, so let's get a closer look at ibuprofen and a similar drug named naproxen, so that we can compare their properties and applications.

    Two months of suffering with shoulder pain. I tried exercise with my shoulder and Ibuprofen since my pain began nothing seem to work. Today is the first time I took Naproxen this morning and the pain is gone since I took it. I’m just glad I can have some relief. If my shoulder doesn’t get better by this week I’ll be heading to get some scans done on my shoulder.

    I get headaches from air pressure. Really severe ones. For almost 20 years. And in that time, my go to is coffee + ibuprofen. But works far less effectively without the coffee. I live in Calgary Alberta Canada, the Chinook headaches are famous. I have always wondered why this combo is effective. The other treatment I use is heat applied directly to the bridge of the nose, or cold on the top of the head. Haven't tried naproxen.

    The Walmart version doesn't work well on me. Advil's ibuprofen, coated with ibuprofen sodium (the silver label) works best on me, often removing my headache within 20-30 minutes. Wal-Mart ibuprofen often takes an additional dose 4 hours later for it to work.

This video talks how one drug can calm down the menstruation cramps or headaches. But this doesn't mean it fixes this internal problem of having cramps. It just eases the symptomps. A healthy body shouldn't experience pain? That's totally baseless. And how do you know the remission of the cramps isn't addressing the cause of the cramps? Did you listen to and comprehend the mechanism described?

  • @mileady777

    @mileady777

    @@ProfessorDaveExplains I know the remission of cramps isn't addressing the cause of the cramps simply because they keep coming back. The problem isn't solved at all. I suffered from menstrual cramps and I've heard many reasons for the pain and many solutions that didn't work. Gynecologists said that if the position of my ovary and hormonal levels were ok, then I should never experience cramps. Therefore, a healthy body shouldn't experience pain during periods. I took tablets like ibuprofen that only eased the pain which kept coming back every menstruation.
