Thanks a lot for your review! All the best!
Nice review
Still Rocking that DC-5!!!

Forever, it will remain in my stable. I’d be using my Rockerverb, but the power tubes are deader than a door nail. The DC-5 holds up almost 25 years later.
Never thought this guitar would turn out to be my favourite🔥

Congrats on the Pia! The high pass filter is only noticeable at lower volume, no effect on max volume.

Thanks. I’ll take a closer look when I sit down with it next. It doesn’t seem to make a huge difference at any setting, but guitar tone is the sum of the smallest details so even the most minute detail can matter.

exactly, t's a treble bleed mod but switchable... so when you lower the volume, high freq don't disapear as much.
Nice guitar!!!!!
Great review thanks. I just received one too. Loving it.

@@LessonsWithCameron Yea....you need two I guess in case you bust a string on stage. Apart from that it would just be really cool to have more than one. Every one would be a little different.

@@LessonsWithCameron Do you do any tapping or shredding tutorials. I'm typically more of a rock/blues and dabble in jazz....but I love listening to some guys/gals when they are mixing tapping with their arpeggios etc. Also I notice you have a beautiful PRS....I've got a Macarty 594 Hollowbody Charcoal. Compliments the PIA really well to cover different styles....especially Deep Purple covers. Next gig I will be using that and the Ibanez PIA :-)

@@bok2bok333 I really love the way PRS looks, plays, and sounds. One of my favorite brands, alongside Ibanez. They cover different ground, but when I’m playing different styles, different guitars definitely do different things. I haven’t done any tapping or shred videos, though that may be a topic to cover in the future. It’s so well covered by so many, I’d hope to have something to add to the pool of information already out there.

Thanks! It’s been my go-to guitar for a while now. Always wanted a Jem, but didn’t get around to it until it was too late.
Well well well Mr. Carbrey, we meet again, Moscow, bike festival, some 15 years ago, Charlie B. band show, late night beers - rings a bell?

Wow. It sure has been a minute!!
Nice review. Congrats! I love mine, but the 2 PIA's I've had in my studio have had a slightly thicker neck from any of the wizards I've had/have. I guess that's a typical inconsistency with most brands.
@LessonsWithCameron
Жыл бұрын
Thanks! The PIA neck is 1mm thicker than the original Wizard. While it’s not as thin as the Wizard, the 1mm addition, 5-ply, and volute will likely make the PIA neck significantly less fragile over time. I do love my Wizards, but I’ve really enjoyed the feel of the PIA neck. I expected it to feel like my late ‘80s RGs, but ultimately I found it to be a superior instrument that only gives up a little in the thickness of the neck in exchange for a more solid instrument that sounds amazing and plays incredibly well. The UtoPIA pickups have quickly risen to the top of my list of favorite pickups.

@@LessonsWithCameron I have several videos reviewing the PIA. Mine is .76 1st and .82 at 12th frets. My other white PIA was .78-.83. So, they’ll vary from guitar. But, yeah…. My black PIA is gonna stay with me. One of the most fun guitars. Keep rocking, dude! Subbed
@LessonsWithCameron

@@tonlarj37 I’ll have to throw some calipers on mine. Now I’m curious! Thanks for the sub!
Lots of people misunderstood high pass filter It’s a treble bleed HPF / Treble Bleed has significant role only when you roll down the volume it retains high frequency and filtered the low end when volume being roll down i.e In crunch mode, roll down the volume will cleans up the tone instead of lower the volume output

This sounds like a pretty clear explanation. This is my first experience with this type of pull pot. I will definitely experiment with it more and see what I can get out of it. I definitely didn’t notice much when pulled, but often wasn’t running full volume. Not knowing the volume level was playing the primary role must have created a placebo effect, since there was definitely a difference at times and others I felt like maybe my ears were just tired and I wasn’t hearing it anymore. This would explain a lot and I’ll definitely expand on that in the future after gaining more experience with it. Thanks!

Nice review, can't wait to get mine in 6 months lol. I do feel like for that insane price it should've had locking tuners and I'd prefer a truss rod adjustment Charvelle style with the wheel below 24th fret instead of hassling with the truss rod cover there kinda annoying. At least they should've made it removable without tools like on other cheaper Ibanezes
@LessonsWithCameron

I definitely agree on the truss rod cover. The slide to adjust style covers seem like a no-brainer to me. After having it now for a while, it’s still the one I want to play most of the time. Any criticism I would have had melts away when I start to play it.

@LessonsWithCameron

@@lightmusicguitar That is a hard one. I went black first, love the white, but I might go blue for my second. It’s growing on me.
HI great video and great guitar I ask you, do you think it's a versatile guitar with which to play multiple styles (rock, pop, blues..) or is it made just for Steve's world? Can it finally replace Strato and Les Paul or not? Thanks and congratulations again!!!
@LessonsWithCameron
Жыл бұрын
Thanks and great question! While the PIA is incredibly versatile and can fit in a wide variety of styles, the floating tremolo allows access to certain sounds and techniques a Strat or Les Paul cannot do, however the floating trem is not forgiving for more heavy handed playing, where a stop tail or traditional style trem is stable enough to take a pounding for more intense attack. As far as shred guitars go, it is very hard to beat. If you are comfortable with a floating trem, it will absolutely fit rock/pop/blues genres very well and might be preferable to a S or LP. Sometimes it’s like driving a fast car slowly, but it sounds great at all speeds.
Cameron, thanx for explaining all of the features, but are there onley springs for getting The tremelo in tune, ore more? 😃

After about 9 months with it, I can say that it was worth every penny and is still a tremendous joy to play.
I’ve yet to see anyone comment that the finish is Matt on that guitar, not sure about the other pia’s though
@LessonsWithCameron
5 күн бұрын
@@filipewilson1842 You are correct that the Onyx Black color is a matte finish. It is the only matte finish offered on the PIA so far. All the other colors released were gloss finishes.
Fantastic guitar. Magnetic spring cover? a) I don't take it off enough to need a magnet on it, b) Not sure I want a magnet pressing up against the family jewels.
@LessonsWithCameron
Жыл бұрын
If you’re gigging with it, it’s pretty handy for dealing with environmental changes on the go. I’m not sure the nuggets would be within the magnetic field, it’s like a refrigerator magnet strength. I suppose if you stand like James Hetfield, you might encounter some unwanted magnetism?

My favourite is Gibson Slash les Paul standard, but not Ibanez.
It's a pity that you only use the humbuckers. For clean sounds i use much more position 2 and 4.

Thanks for the comment. I didn’t do a whole lot, just adjusted the height of the bridge and compensated the neck accordingly. There is a card in the case candy that explains how to adjust the PIA and it was pretty straight forward.
