    Fantastic demo and review! Can you tell a difference between the maple and rosewood neck in feel or tone, or is it largely cosmetic? The maple sounded a little brighter to my ears... Thank you!

  • @LessonsWithCameron

    They were fairly even to me with a slight bright edge to the maple, but that might be a placebo effect. I wouldn’t swear one way or the other. I prefer ebony as my fretboard of choice, so the rosewood was a better feel to my hands. I like maple, too but I preferred the rosewood between these two.

  • @LessonsWithCameron
    @LessonsWithCameronАй бұрын

    Thank you! I really like the SAS. I would definitely keep it and add a NF3. They’re so different and the NF3 has what I think are unmatched cleans in the SE range. The woofy voice of the Swamp Ash Special is also unique. Both are just killer guitars particularly for how inexpensive they are.

  • @LessonsWithCameron
    @LessonsWithCameronАй бұрын

    @@thebrysmith3 if it’s any consolation, I felt the rosewood played like butter in my hands and the maple made me work for it. I did feel like there was a tiny tonal gain on the maple, but the rosewood was just a little better setup and was the one I liked best. A small neck adjustment would have probably evened the playing field, but I almost never turn a wrench until after the demo video unless it’s dreadful out of the box. I hope to show the authentic first impression right out of the box.

  • @LessonsWithCameron

    You can use it without a cab as a headphone amp or use the line out into your interface. If you want to hear it out loud, you will need a speaker. The PPC108 works, but it really should have a 1x12 if you want it to sound good.

    Lots of people misunderstood high pass filter It’s a treble bleed HPF / Treble Bleed has significant role only when you roll down the volume it retains high frequency and filtered the low end when volume being roll down i.e In crunch mode, roll down the volume will cleans up the tone instead of lower the volume output

  • @LessonsWithCameron
    @LessonsWithCameron3 ай бұрын

    This sounds like a pretty clear explanation. This is my first experience with this type of pull pot. I will definitely experiment with it more and see what I can get out of it. I definitely didn’t notice much when pulled, but often wasn’t running full volume. Not knowing the volume level was playing the primary role must have created a placebo effect, since there was definitely a difference at times and others I felt like maybe my ears were just tired and I wasn’t hearing it anymore. This would explain a lot and I’ll definitely expand on that in the future after gaining more experience with it. Thanks!

    Nice review, can't wait to get mine in 6 months lol. I do feel like for that insane price it should've had locking tuners and I'd prefer a truss rod adjustment Charvelle style with the wheel below 24th fret instead of hassling with the truss rod cover there kinda annoying. At least they should've made it removable without tools like on other cheaper Ibanezes

  • @LessonsWithCameron

    I definitely agree on the truss rod cover. The slide to adjust style covers seem like a no-brainer to me. After having it now for a while, it’s still the one I want to play most of the time. Any criticism I would have had melts away when I start to play it.

    Other than the upper shoulder’s interior carve and obviously the depth of the violin carve, they are extremely similar. We just held one up next to a CE24 for comparison. The heel is a little more manageable and petite on the SE, as well.

    Of the three guitars, which guitar model is the best?

  • @LessonsWithCameron
    @LessonsWithCameron8 ай бұрын

    It really depends. The Swamp Ash has a unique sound compared to most PRS, so for that sound there is only one choice. The SE CE24 is an incredible value and a great guitar. The Custom 24 Quilt was the one I felt played best and felt most capable in my hands. It had a refined tone and broader low end than the CE24. So, for uniqueness I would choose the SAS, for the PRS experience I would choose the Quilt, and for the budget conscious I would choose the CE24. They’re all much better than anticipated and are ridiculously inexpensive during this year’s holiday sale.
