Jiyuna makes the best FGC tutorials. When DNF Duel came out I used his Hitman guide to climb to Legend rank, and now in SF6 I used his Modern Cammy guide to climb to Master rank. Thank you for always hooking us up with the cheap and broken stuff!

Whatever they do PLEASE don't give Jiyuna a trophy or even a gd keychain for winning. I'm gonna have to see that bs for decades.

You can hit every anti air playing modern, but the trick online is to let them get 2 or 3 jump ins so they think they can get away with it and then smoke them the rest of the set

I think learning both C and M versions of your character will be the play. You'll have to know both to be able to say you mastered your character. I'm telling you (and I been sayin this for a while now) M and C are basically just -isms/grooves. You need to know both

100% I learned Classic and Modern Lily, it has benefited me so much than just playing Classic. Was struggling in some match ups, decided to learn Modern for what I thought in theory would be better keep away, found out about her Modern command grab and went bonkers figuring out other stuff with her. Like her windclad level 2 super, this isn't exclusive to Modern but its so much better in Modern, her level 2 super has suction similar to Kens VT2 in SF5, it reaches quite far and with characters like JP and Juri zoning, you can react from decently far to their fireballs and punish early or really late and it'll always pull them in from wherever their at. It completely shuts down their zoning as long as you keep windclad level 2 stocked, even if they do it meaty they can only walk back after, you can't walk fwd or drive rush because you'll get sucked in during the start up, you could try and fake a walk fwd like a microstep and than hold back but once you get use to seeing the startup of their fireball animations, you're not getting baited since you're always reacting to the animation, something i've been practicing alot and getting better at. Best part is that it's also one of the best anti airs in the game, hitting both the front and crossups, so they can't bait or switch it up with jump ins during zoning. You can also use it the suction against slow recovery buttons like Kens St.HK, like I said works just like Kens VT2 from 5. I'm glad someone else is calling this out, cause just like you I wholeheartedly agree learning both Modern and Classic is the future of this game, the best and most consistent players will be the ones switching between both. That's why I think some characters def need their Modern counterparts buffed, some characters like Ryu absolutely suck in Modern, lose too much and too little benefits, I could be wrong but that's my impression so far labbing Modern Ryu for a week. Modern Manon is a joke. This game is full of exploration still and I love it, best time i've had labbing a SF since SF4/SFXT era. Can't wait for the first balance patch!

After a few matches on the battle hub a guy (very politely really) told me that I have my character on M by accident... Internally I was like: that's no accident > :)

Thank you Jiyuna for gassing the modern controls so hard. You completely opened my eyes and I finally picked a second modern-only character.

Yea I’m still surprised ppl try to shit on modern. I played against a couple players higher rank than me other day in customs on stream and they thought I wasn’t gonna bring the heat with modern Rashid but not only was I able to beat the streamer I was keeping up with diamond/masters players a bit(I’m plat 2) in the room w/ the pressure I could apply when I did get my licks in.

I for 1 use Modern Chun, Marisa and Honda but when i tried Modern Cammy, i just stuck with Classic for Cammy because im so used to having access to her counter hit confirm of stand Jab Counter hit into down Medium punch to confirm for combos. I started using modern because I was missing my inputs all the time on my ps5 controller. And it's been really fun so far. Until I get a better controller I'll stick to modern controls.

What controller did you use?

I'm still on the modern Lily (struggle) bus, but I think modern Ryu might be legit if you play him super lame. I'm super curious how Modern Ed is going to look, since he was basically modern before modern. Also hoping that modern Aki is sick, though if she's charge with no DP I dunno how great that would be!

BittaHitta has a good video about using Lily's (manual) command grab to beat throw loops by doing it but holding up-back for a few extra frames to get the "you're about to jump" throw-invulnerability so you reversal with heavy command grab; I've been wondering if you can do the same but way easier to time if you do it with Modern command grab but haven't tested it out yet 🤔🤞

@@Zindaras1 I haven't learned that tech yet but I can share what I know. Her modern command grab is obviously faster due to no frames wasted on the input but it only works with Medium command grab, so in theory it would be great with Modern but if what you're saying works only a certain distance to get it as a reversal the extra wait time for the opponent to walk fwd and be in range would probably put you in threat of counterhit. But assuming its meaty and their already close enough before you wake up, in theory it should be easier since you can do things like crouch command grab(which you cant do in classic) and you do stuff like walk fwd/back, fwd/back and command grab(instantly which you can't in classic). Also thanks for sharing!

You can still do them with the motion inputs. Cammy only loses access to her light and medium hooligan combination as its only available via the special move button. You can do all her other moves using the motion inputs to get the different versions.

Def dont see it taking over, especially if Capcom balance adjusts it. You guys gotta really need to start hitting the lab, and I mean really hitting it, because you'll find alot about what alot of ppl know like the downsides. Most characters arent like Chun Li where you can use her Modern version in any match up, characters like Modern Lily or Gief are only good with certain match ups, Classic is still very necessary. Characters like Manon absolutely suck all around with Modern. So this fear is def not warranted, SF6 is perfectly fine as is and headed in the best possible direction any SF has ever gone, aside some needed balanced adjustments to low and top tiers, and certain low and top Modern counterparts.

Yea haitani top 6, i think shuto also within top 24, almost defeated tokido, but tokido made a comeback during last final round. They aso won one tournament in japan prior EVO with a team with 3 modern.

She don't lose specials but you can only use Hooligan Combination with the Special Button (and I think you lose the ability to use the Heavy version that you can hold). But you still can use normal inputs for Quick Spin Knuckle, Spiral Arrow and Cannon Strike/Spike and not get the 20% damage reduction on those
