I Went BEAR MODE For a Week

Going bear mode to gain mass on the traps, neck and upper body to look sauced while being natty. It actually worked well

Video idea: stand up for an entire week. 8 hours lying down for sleep allowed per day, the remaining 16 hours spent standing or moving around (working out allowed)

Would love to see this as a 30 day challenge. Def would recommend focusing on side and rear delts to get that crazy 3-d look, and also using a lower angle on incline to try and isolate that upper chest portion more.

I think the people that coinned the term bear mode never had any intention for trying to look like geared guys, it's about looking huge in clothes at the expense of looking worse with your shirt off, (since most people try and look good with their shirt off and end up looking small in clothes)

This is the exact method I used for several years to achieve a more yoked look. It works. This is the next step in bodybuilding. I tell people who ask me for advice on training to be very specific with their training. Where do you need to place the muscle to achieve a more awesome look? Upper and inner chest? Front delts and chest popping and separated? Traps popping out from shoulders and chest? Yes. Upper bicep development separated from the front and side delt? Yes. This is the line of thinking you need. Most people don’t have the mind for this.

This dude does experiments i typically daydream about as to if or it isnt possible, grade A this is very informative, im weird and love these types of "bro science" ideas when it comes to targeting specific bodyparts, theres so much we dont understand of the human body and really nobody knows anything, we are still fresh at understanding as humans. Edit; i thought of a random study that was done that was very interesting, your muscles remember their size better with a higher rest time between sets rather than fast rest times, therefore you should technically be able to not only accumilate more muscle memory if you ever lost it and were gaining it back, but from one exercise session to the next training the same muscle you did days prior, a bigger rest period would slap the muscle harder, because its fresh in where it needs to be, therefore the progress goes above in a way
damn,i rarely stumble on your channel, but every video is just amazing, i must warn you, binging may happen

I watch your video's many times an week and this is my favorite video that you ever uploaded. Maybe you can make more video's like this. (Your choice)
I thought these muscles were always targeted by pretty much everyone when I first started out. I've been training them since my first days in the gym. My traps are arguably the biggest contributor to how big I look right now.

Your body isn't always going to have the same composition on different days (e.g water retention). Also - it probably would need more than a week to see a significant difference.
I really hope so that he will do a 1 year bear mode update video because I really liked
Video idea. What if you grew your beard out and tested the products available to stop itching and dandruff and any other beard care products
Bro you have got to go longer on your chalanges, 😂 much love ❤
If youre looking to get the best side delts, I suggest going past failiure and doing a bunch of half reps at the end of each set
I was told that Kelso Shrugs are really effective to target all the traps. That can help speed up maybe. For the delts Lu Raises can be mechanical drop set to Lateral Raises. This i know because it is exactly what i am focusing on right now.
I like this idea more long-term like 6 months or something because how much are you actually going to do in a week? Still a fun video but I watch a lot of your stuff and I'm like I wonder if he's going to keep going

You remind me of that Tom Schwartz guy from Vanderplump rules! As a natty I spend a whole workout on just traps, then during the week plenty of Hammer curls and extra side delt work, all helps to look more anabolic
to make the clean bulk more effective and to adhere to the bear mode i would do it like this eat clean high calories high protein foods as much as you want so things like meat and eggs will be very prominent and other things like butter if you want
I really notice the cannonball pump on those deltoids. Always love a experiment with a conclusion that goes against the hypothesis. Rawr?!
Have you considered going on walks to help with digestion and to improve recovery right after eating? Sub one mile is all you need, the results have been insane for me. Zone 2 cardio is insanely beneficial for recovery and incredibly underrated. I get more high quality work done in less time just by walking around 5-7 miles a day.

So you walk for less than one mile after every meal? Great for digestion? I will try. Any other tips?
@jacobdebernardi4385
Жыл бұрын
@@sonoftheking831 If even, I do a super short loop around the house and it's about 0.75 miles. On longer walks I'll go for 4-6 miles. There's something about getting the blood flowing that makes recovery so much better. Other than that it's the usual get good sleep and learn to cook cause that's the only way to eat healthy these days! And it's affordable that way. High protein diet works great for me but not too much, somewhere between 0.85-1 g/lb per day.
@hercules_144
Жыл бұрын
@@jacobdebernardi4385 anything more than that is unnecessary anyway. 1g/lb is more than enough for 99.9% of people. Almost everyone tends to overestimate how much protein they actually need.

A pro-tip for preventing your phone from keeping you from falling asleep: Keep your phone in "night mode" at all times. You get used to the slightly yellowish color and it won't keep you up due to less blue light. You won't have to stop using your phone an hour before bed. Haven't looked into any of the exact specifications of the light emitted from the iphone screen or anything like that but as someone who has had sleep problems in the past, this made a big difference for me.
I have a video idea!!!! Wear a resistance band around your upper knees/thighs for a week! And see if there’s progress on your legs
For the Neck & even upper back to an extent-.I use a 6 pound D moose Neck harness. It works amazing

So I've done more of a longer term weight train with a lower amount of weight but you don't stop until you reach like 30 mins or so for a rest period. So it like the snach and clean but you run it slow and isolate each part of that exercise in a slower more controlled manner. It's a good way to kind of evenly tone your muscles for in a full body way. I call them gladiators. You should try it for at least 15 mins straight to really understand the work out and then just add time to your "set"
@heath5305
Жыл бұрын
It's the kind of exercise that if your not really ready to lift heavy that day then you can do this workout for two or three sets of 15 to 30 mins at around 25% or less of your max.

Supersets work opposing muscle groups. Had it right when going from bi's to tri's. Doing front/side/rear delts is a compound set, as you're targeting the same muscle group. 'nuf said. I like this guy's approach.

Any interest in the John the Baptist diet for a week? Raw honey and locusts/grasshoppers.
I always wondered what'd happen with physique and mood if you took like a week period or whatever only eating red meat, beef, steaks, with oils and such of course, steaks can have plenty of fat for bigger calories, you get mass protein, might lack on carbs obv but, you might become and actual bear mode beast.
My Best/Easiest muscles to develops that I've noticed are traps shoulders and back wing muscles (ofc natural methods) and I love what you called it a Bear Mode.Tho my weaknesses are always been abdomen (not much budget to choose what I eat for my ab muscles) and also my forearms are not that develop so I am increasing the days for my abdomen and forearms workout days,I've been inconsistent in working out cause of health problems but I am not stopping now (trying to work out 5 days in a week).

I have also been honing down on forearms lately. My number one tip is to find exercises you enjoy doing, not ones that are 'optimal'. Personally I love heavy hammer curls and finger curls, and I look forward to doing them more than some lame wrist curls. See what you like best :)
