When I was a kid I literally went barefoot everywhere except for when I went to school. Literally, around 10 years I wore no shoes and here's the kicker. I had such thick calluses on the bottom of my feet I once stepped on a thumbtack that sank completely into my heel and I still never felt it. I only knew it was there because I heard it tapping on the hardwood when I walked into the kitchen.

I am a 66 year old man, during my working career I did office work and was on my feet all day. I had all kinds of foot problems and I was buying 300.00 shoes just to make it through the day. After I retired, I was at the gym and stood next to a guy, he and I were watching a woman jogging barefoot, I said to him, wow that's incredible. He said she was his wife and she goes everywhere barefoot. He said it is the healthiest thing for your feet, and it naturally raises your arches. After that, my shoes came off. For the first few days, even grass was hard on my sissy feet, but now, it has been almost 10 years. I am so glad I listened to that guy, all my foot problems are gone. I hate it when I have to put shoes or even socks on. Your video was impressive, but my critique is, you took your shoes off, and right away abused your feet. The human body needs a little time to adjust. Luckily, you are young.

@@ramborenegadephantom9434 just start out by walking and doing everything barefoot. The skin on your feet will begin to toughen up automatically. As they toughen, then start doing more. After your feet have been in shoes for years and years, the skin has become tender and are easily susceptible to damage. It doesn't take long, especially if you keep your shoes and socks off as much as possible. There is no logic to hurting yourself. Best wishes!

hey everyone! I just wanted to share some good news with you all. Let's just put it this way, the Ten Commandments are called the Moral Law. Ask yourself this. How many lies have you told? Have you ever stolen anything? Have you ever used God's name in vein? Have you ever hated someone or ever looked with lust? This is for you to judge yourself, but chances are that you are a lying, thieving, blasphemous, fornicating, adulterer at heart and you HAVE to face God on judgement day. Now ask yourself this. If God judges you on judgement day by these Commandments, will you be innocent or guilty? Of course you'll be guilty because we've all done these things. The truth is that none of us are good people and we NESD God's grace to make it to heaven. We judt simply cannot do it on our own. These Commandments arecalled the Moral Law. You and I broke the law, Jesus payed the fine. So now what we must do to be saved is to repent of our sins and trust alone in Jesus Christ! To repent doesn't mean to just say I'm sorry, but to turn from our sins and let Him truly be our Lord continually. He said that many will say to Him, Lord, Lord I have done all of these things for you. And He will say I never knew you. Depart from Me, ye who work iniquity! And those will be cast into outer darkness and raging hellfire and loneliness for all of eternity!!! Because we broke His law, He is very, very just to send us to hell. If someone had murdered 4 people and said to the judge, I've done nice things too and have tried to treat people nice but it was just one time, the judge would then say, okay but you're going to jail. And the judge is very just to do that. One last thing, if you were 10,000 feet in the air and you had to jump, you wouldn't jump out and flap your arms and try to save yourself. That's ridiculous! You would put on the parachute. It is the same with Jesus. You must trust Him as you trust the parachute. We are not good and we cannot save ourselves with our own goodness. We must trust alone in Him to save us. In just a moment of time you can pass from death to life. Jesus said, "Verily, verily I say unto you, you must be born again." That is how we enter heaven. Through the blood and grace of Jesus Christ!!!!✝️If you ask someone how to enter Heaven, they will most likely say, "Be a good person." Well the Bible says that none is good, no not one. We like to compare ourselves to guys like Hitler and say, "Hey, I'm a pretty good guy compared to him." But when we compare ourselves to God's standard, we realize that the Bible speaks truth when it says that we all sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God!!! When we see this ( our sin in its TRUE light), we see how much trouble we are in and we say, "Well then there's nothing I can do. I'm going to hell for sure then." It's true that there is nothing that WE can do, but there is something that has already been done for you! God sent His One and Only Son to die on a cross as a sacrifice for our sins! So to recieve that eternal sweet sweet forgiveness, all we must do is repent of our sins (meaning to continually turn from them and confess them) and trust alone in Christ as you trust a parachute. If I was to push you out of an airplane, you'd want the parachute for sure! Don't try to flap your arms and save yourself, trust in the parachute!! His finished work on the Cross IS ENOUGH!!! He is the only way to Heaven, He said it Himself!! These other religions teach that we must he good and do good things and then maybe if we've been good enough, we will enter Heaven. But if that is true then we are all doomed to eternal hell because none of us are good. That's why this makes sense. Look at the Ten Commandments, they are written on your heart right now!!! I promise that you have violated them. And you might still be doing that today.. Therefore God is just to poor out His wrath on us because we deserve it! But Christ died for us so that we can spend eternity in Heaven with Him!!! Turn to Him today, and He and only He will save your soul!! "Verily, verily I say unto you, you must be born again ( to go to Heaven)."✝️

The Bible says that no one is a good person. We have all broken God's law the 10 commandments, we have all committed, lies, adultery, idolatry, and blasphemy. We deserve hell, but because of what Jesus did on the cross we can be forgiven. So if you Repent of your sins, change your wicked ways, and put your faith in Christ you will be written in the book of life. 👌 🙏Repentance is reviewing one's actions and feeling contrition or regret for past wrongs, which is accompanied by commitment to and actual actions that show and prove a change for the better.

I've been walking barefoot for almost 5 months now. The skin on my feet are about 5mm thicker and my toes are super flexible. The muscles around my ankles are much more stable and my balance has improved. I find it more natural to land on the ball of my foot now rather than my heel. I also feel numb to any pain from stepping on rocks, stones and sticks unless of course I step on one that is super sharp like glass or nail. I only put shoes on when going out with friends or family now. Shoes feel incredibly awkward now though. It's little painful to do anything in them because I have no room to spread my toes or do anything really. They feel very restricting.

You should check out barefoot shoes for going out. Depending on which one you get, they still look like shoes but the sole is flat, so no custom comfortable arches. And it's thin and super flexible. Also the toe area is wider so you can spread put your toes. This is just a suggestion, not advice. More people should try going barefoot!! I’ve been barefoot for a really long time now, and when I’m not barefoot I wear barefoot shoes. The benefits of the barefoot lifestyle drastically outweighs the costs. It improves balance and posture, reduces inflammation, strengthens your feet, and more. The freedom is amazing! But you have to ease into barefoot, if you take it too hard at the start (like this guy did) it causes major problems. It’s like relearning how to walk. I hope the comments on this video will inspire more people to become barefoot!

@@OncleJer Most people stopped going barefoot after shoes became a status symbol, not because they suddenly didn't want to touch the ground anymore. People continued to go barefoot in most places long after shoes were invented, they only wore them when needed for very specific weather or terrain, sort of like how you probably treat hats and gloves. Feet shouldn't need extra protection for most common terrain, they grow their own, or at least they do when they aren't forced to atrophy from excessive shoe use. Once it became trendy for people of high status to wear them, people started wearing them excessively to look more important. Plus, plenty of people on a cultural level still follow the original logic of shoes being as important as gloves, a lot of ones near or below the equator for obvious reasons.

In the South, especially on the Beach, where we can go barefoot outside most of the time, the skin and muscles toughen up and accommodate the ground in a few months. Over the years, we also learn to pick up things with our toes. However, for common sense and common courtesy, we wear flip-flops or conventional shoes inside, and in the City. I wear Crocs, rather than flip-flops, as my quick shoes for outdoors in the marsh, where there may be glass, nails, or sharp rocks, or when I make a quick stop at the store. We are barefoot in the house, and the Crocs don't come into the house. On the other foot ..., I know my lawn and my yard, and I don't wear shoes in my yard. I don't recommend going barefoot for only a week, when going indoors, or outside in the summer ... until after the muscle and skin have built up for months. I do recommend going barefoot in safe places outdoors on grass or sand, for a month or longer.

If you die tonight, do you know where you're going? Did you know that Jesus Christ is THE only way to Heaven and He loves you? Through Him, God offers you a FREE gift - forgiveness. All you need to do is repent, turn away from your sins and evil ways, from now on put your faith completely in Jesus Christ and be obedient to Him. Biblical explanation of the Gospel: God doesn’t want anybody in hell because He loves us, but you must understand why we deserve hell and why those who refuse to live under His authority will go there. (Matthew 12:30) ''Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters.'' He gave us the law (Ten Commandments) not to make us righteouss, but rather to show us our sin (Romans 3:20). God gave us free will and since Adam sinned in the garden, sin is the nature of our flesh and we ALL have sinned. (Romans 3:23) The law demands death to those who sin (Romans 6:23). For someone to be justified before holy God they have to be sinless, that's why everyone need Jesus Christ for He lived a sinless life. None of us are good in God’s eyes, because for God good means moral perfection. We all have broken God’s commandments, we all have sinned in our lives so none of us are good. ‘’For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it.’’ (James 2:10). Good News is that Jesus Christ lived a perfect, holy, sinless life, Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, He was buried and He was raised from the dead on the third day according to the Scriptures (1 Corinthians 15:3-4) For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.’’ (John 3:16) We aren’t saved based on our good deeds/works, but only by the grace of God through faith. ''For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith - and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God - not by works, so that no one can boast. (Ephesians 2:8-9) Jesus said ‘’it is finished’’ (John 19:30) just before He died on the cross, which means He paid the fine for our sins (past, present, future) to be forgiven if we repent and trust in Him. ''What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? Certainly not!'' (Romans 6:15) ''Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out'' (Acts 3:19) Repentance is a turning away from sin and all evil works, and it always results in changed behavior (Luke 3:8). Biblically, a person who repents does not continue willfully in sin. While sorrow from sin is not equivalent to repentance, it is certainly an element of scriptural repentance (2 Corinthians 7:10). Do not play a hypocrite. ''God is light; in Him there is no darkness at all. If we claim to have fellowship with Him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live out the truth.'' (1 John 1:5-6) If you have repented and have genuine faith in Jesus Christ then you will receive the gift of Holy Spirit and be born-again spiritually. (John 3:3) Jesus replied, "Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again." When you believed, you were marked in Him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession - to the praise of His glory. (Ephesians 1:13-14) You are born again with the Spirit of Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17). Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him. (John 3:36) ''You will know them by their fruits'' (Matthew 7) If you have been truly born-again with the Holy Spirit and He has regenerated your heart, you will desire righteousness - to do what is good and righteous in God's eyes, to seek God everyday in His Word and prayer, to strengthen your relationship with God. You will no longer desire to willfully continue living in sin but will want to obey God out of your love for Him because of His amazing grace revealed to us through the death and resurrection of His Son. ''Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.'' (2 Corinthians 5:17) ''For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.'' (Eph 2:10) You will have a testimony - of what your life had been before and how has it changed now when you have surrendered it to Lord Jesus Christ. As a declaration and affirmation of your faith in Jesus Christ, get baptised in water because He commanded us to do so. In John 3:5 Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit.'' ''Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit'' (Matthew 28:19) ''Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to their number that day.'' (Acts 2:41) ''And this water symbolizes the baptism that now saves you also - not the removal of dirt from the body, but the pledge of a clear conscience toward God - through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,'' (1 Peter 3:21) ''We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.'' (Romans 6:4) ''Having been buried with him in baptism, in which you were also raised with him through your faith in the working of God, who raised him from the dead.'' (Colossians 2:12) Please get right with God and start your relationship with Jesus Christ today before it’s too late, because there’s not much time left! "But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.’’ (Mark 13:32) Get to know Christ through God's Word - Bible. At first I recommend reading Gospel of John and book of Romans. God bless you! Jeremiah 29:13 - ''You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.''

That's probably when people started wearing something on the bottom to protect them, along with the cold so they didn't get frost bite and fall off. Then it became a fashion statement. Then modern technology created cushion.

hey everyone!

They also tend to be vegans, keto people etc. I treat them normally, even if it's a bit weird if you're walking down a shopping street in a big city next to them. One thing I keep hearing is that winters are hard, and also they sometimes get fungus/infections on their feet.

It's all that "support" in the shoes that mess your feet up. They just handicap your foot muscles, so they get weak and damaged since you're not using them the way they're meant to be, and it crushes your toes together. I love running, but I kept getting shin splints. People kept telling me, "get shoes with arch support and cushioning." So I did, but they just got worse, and it made my leg muscles all tight. I've noticed that if I went barefoot, I would feel no pain at all, and my leg muscles loosened up. So now, the only time I ever wear shoes is at work and school, and I try to move in them as little as possible, and then the shoes are gone. I'm considering getting those barefoot shoes, so then I won't have to deal with those terrible conventional shoes.

Good on you for trying it! Speaking as a (nearly) full-time barefooter, you shouldn't expect that strong callus to form after one week of being barefoot. If you stick with it, it generally starts to appear around week 3. It takes a little longer than the calluses your hands get from lifting. Once the soles toughen, those little nicks and slivers become rare.

Very strong and fast legs (idk how). Cons- your feet will look dirty but they are clean, you’ll get some stares, parents might lecture you, stores might have a policy for having shoes on, harmful bugs could bite you or you could step on some rusty things. So that second part is a problem actually fixed going barefoot. 3. Gangrene. Wtf? You don't "get" gangrene-it's a symptom of other serious health problems, like diabetes. Solution: Be healthy? In fact, walking barefoot increases circulation to your feet, so it's probably recommended if you have diabetes. 4. Frostbite. Another wtf. Obviously wear shoes in the winter. Loved your video! Going barefoot is great! I've been running barefoot for over a decade, and have done 1/2 marathons barefoot. It was one of the best decisions of my life, but I will admit that the first month of going barefoot was incredibly difficult. However, I have developed muscles that were never used when shoes were involved (shoes handicap some of your muscles), my feet are tough and leathery like a dog's pads, and I have developed another sense with my feet (in other words, my feet became another pair of eyes). If I could, I'd never wear shoes again.

I would recommend just walking in the beginning. You can try running a mile or so but if you run a longer distance you will probably overdo it, which you won't notice until afterwards. Running completely barefoot is awesome but if you're not careful you will get blood filled blisters pretty quickly (and don't run on asphalt, it's like sandpaper).

You felt stronger in the gym because now you could engage the calves, adding their strength to whatever you were doing. Sports shoes usually have a high heel, which leaves your calves on a shortened position to begin with. You probably had better balance too, which leaves the other muscles more strength to lift.

I've found when barefoot, I'm able to rip the ground by flexing my toes. Especially if I focus on internal rotation, this seems to activate my hips and lower abs more completely. And somehow, this naturally causes me to grip the muscles in my hands more tightly as well. I now believe the nerve endings for the hands and feet are mapped in the brain in similar locations.

Hi there! That is so hard! To go cold turkey and just do barefoot sprinting and jumping on uneven surfaces. It usually is a process you build up too. Imagine all those compressed little muscles of your feet having to all the sudden carry your whole body weight? Also, you might want to look at wider toe box shoes and flexible soles to keep working on foot mobility. Normal shoes will keep you in permanent extension, since the front of the foot is elevated (for giving the appearance of having a smaller foot).

The ONLY time I wear shoes is out in public areas or when I go on a walk on the gravelly road and want to prevent getting blisters and having them rip open and gather rocks inside of them again. Other than that, I'm barefoot all day, every day. I've always been like that! I find comfort in not wearing shoes when it's not really needed. 11:52 That's exactly what's damaging to your foot strength. Also, the narrow toe box literally messes up your toes and the heel raise and toe spring are bad too. You should just get "barefoot" shoes (the name is such a misleading oxymoron, so I call them normal shoes), and only wear them sometimes. Just a week is nothing. Also, you would have MORE than just callouses even after a month or 2. You'll have actual skin pads. So just go barefoot again like normal, but stick with it, don't rush the process, and stop when you start getting sore. Edit More like minimalist shoes except actually regular shoes. Imagine calling normal gloves minimalist just because they don't have thick padding in them.

This was a fad like 10 yrs ago that stopped and no serious runners run barefoot today, unless they are strength training carefully. If you attempt to run regularly without any support, you will encounter incredibly tight calves, which will lead to Achilles Tendonitis very shortly after. There are also shoes that give zero support, simulate bare feet, but protect your feet from stepping on shit that will hurt you, if you insist on the barefoot stuff. If you are actually a runner and you're putting in 70+ miles per week, barefoot running will put you out of commission with injuries, almost guaranteed. ~sub 4:15 miler in college.

People started getting Achilles Tendonitis left and right, and it later came out that much of the supposed benefits of barefoot running were bunk science used to sell the shoes. To be fair marathon running and subsequent training isn't really the healthiest training full stop. Can humans do it, yes; should they, no. Its literally just burdening your body for too long. The outlast the prey through endurance thing is about walking because our feet are "designed" to be energy efficient when walking not jogging. Don't get me wrong, cardio and conditioning are important....but there are better ways. Even just taking a more moderate approach. But I guess you did mention for serious runners that I assume want to compete and have to manage stimulus to fatigue ratio. So it's probably still quite healthy for laymen or people that care about other things.

I guess you've not seen any of the studies over the last 4 or 5 years that have proven that wearing regular shoes is the leading cause for every knee and back injury for people, not just sprinters. Heels aren't designed to slam into the ground, which is how shoes force you to move.

It looks like your arch gotten deeper compared to your previous visuals. Also a good way to stretch your arch is to roll a tennis ball under near your arch.
