This series was so well written and thought out. I was really concerned that if they ended up together it would seem forced; but they made it clear from the beginning that Willi never wanted any of it. He didn't want to go to Hillerska ( where the royal family has always gone), didn't want to be Crown prince or King; so it all makes perfect sense.

Love this ending. I was worried they wouldn't have a happy ending. So glad they did. Wilmon forever !

Thank you so much! I just finished the last episode. I knew that Wilmon was endgame because taking all of us in their journey for the last 3 years with a sad ending would be sadistic and perhaps even homophobic. But the ending of ep. 5 made it seem impossible for them to continue. It was like "If you really love someone, let them go." But, in the end, Wille chose love and when he broke the 4th wall, Wille was calm and not angry like the previous two season endings. He absolutely made the right decision--to be with the love of his life. Thank you again!

A classic ending from Edward VIII and Wallis Simpson nearly 100 years ago, but with a modern ending, and a much, much MUCH happier ending. To get something great, you have to give up something great. I hope the writers re-visit this story in 3 or 5 years.
