Can we take a minute to appreciate the sacrilege.. religious offensive.. woke garbage this is??? 😠...... We see a child dragged down to hell screaming and squealing in pain.. (Yeah.. the WHITE CHRISTIAN/CATHOLIC kid obviously)😡.... I am actually amazed that they use a female kid and not a boy for this shit 🤨...... Anyway..... The black girl survives (because of course she does🥴)....... and survives, saved by a pagan religion..... not by Christ or the church or Catholicism .... no no no 🙅‍♀... by a MANBO blessing .. (a priestess of dark magic according to some people)🙁......... I am a fac^&%ing atheist.... all this is mythology to me.. right there with the Greek Gods of Olympus 😶‍🌫...... but even I can see how highly offensive this shit is 🤷‍♀...

Exactly. There is no suspense, no tension, no mystery as to which one of them will die. Most modern TV series and movies have the same issue... you can see everything coming from a mile away. Even when a black character is a kidnapper, torturer, child-murdering, hand-chopping villain (Space Moses from the Obi-Wan Kenobi series, for example) it will eventually be revealed that they were actually good all along, and will be fully redeemed by the end. And of course every straight white male is either stupid, evil, and in most cases: both. This sh-t is the death of mystery and storytelling in general.

We use to make fun of the last few wrinkled old prunes who were still racist. It’s come roaring back with the vilification of an entire race and sex based upon things they had nothing to do with personally. Nobody likes to be generalized or have assumptions made about them based on immutable characteristics. @user-iv8hm6ui4lI don’t think so. Certainly not domestically. Most movies DO recoup their costs, even Waterworld eventually turned a profit. But I agree with the people saying they’ll probably cancel the future sequels and adapt them into a series for a streaming service or something to try to make their money back quicker. This movie is getting bad reviews and the only consistent earners at the box office anymore are like Chris Nolan movies. Even Marvel has totally fallen off because of the massive drop in quality. Guardians didn’t do nearly as well as it deserved to because of the preceding tripe the MCU flooded the market with. Guardians was really good and I’m glad I broke my MCU/Disney boycott for it, because it will be the last Disney film I see for a LONG time. And it was a good farewell to the MCU that use to be.

That's right, my signature film is about to be extended by the man who made Pineapple Express. I don't want to be around when that happens. But if there's a spirit world, and I can come back, I plan to possess David Gordon Green and make his life a living hell." And shortly after the first trailer came out, William Friedkin died. The thing that made The Exorcist different is that it was the one actual terrifying possession movie. The rest are mostly garbage. But now they've made The Exorcist franchise a part of that garbage. The idea of the possession by itself isn't that scary if you're not a believer. It was the psychological horror, the directing, the acting, the practical effects, etc. That's what made it scary for even atheists. No other possession movie has been able to accomplish that.

I personally never understood the whole thing of 'don't explain, it'll make it less scary'. Not to say I don't understand the examples, cause I do, those examples are indeed not scary, but the problem lies more in the explanation either being poorly thought out, like in the case of Prometheus, or the explanation being shoehorned in, like logically nobody should know this information but characters just have it anyways. The only thing I'd really say in regards to not explaining stuff in horror, is that my dad always said that you should only explain what it makes sense to know; like if a scientist is working on something related to whatever the thing happens to be, then yes, explain because the character would logically know it, but if the characters are in a situation where they wouldn't know anything, then don't tell the audience anything either. We need to be on the same wavelength as the character, beyond certain indie examples I suppose.

Morgan Creek really SHOULD have just tried to revive the 2016-2017 FX series. FX cancelling it after two seasons was a huge mistake. That show was how to follow-up a classic excellently. Outside that, only the original 1973 film, Exorcist 3 (1990), and Dominion-Prequel To The Exorcist (2005) are worth seeing.

The beginning was very good. As soon as Chris steps in, it goes in the trash. There's no character building, severely rushed. They could have stretched this one story out into three movies if done right. The ending is so strange...like what's going to happen in the other two??

Are people of color not supposed to be protagonist without pushing an agenda? Just cause you live in a predominantly white society where you probably have like two Asians you know both being from completely different parts of the continent. But you think they're different cause one is Middle eastern. Actually no. Dont answer my question. Just read this give a thumbs up, and keep it pushing.

I just knew there would be some woke trash. Every movie is like that now. I just knew when there was a Black and a White family, and the demon went ''choose one'' that the white family would be the selfish ones but the Black girl would live anyway. I guess the white male priest and ''white religion'' weren't as strong as the Black woman whatever she was and ''Black religion''. The patriarchy lien makes me feel like I'm possessed and want to do unspeakable things to the people who made this movie.
