I Was Running Everyday for a Month, See What Happened to My Body

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

It all started when a friend invited me to do a 5k with him - that’s about 3 miles. Doesn’t sound like much, but it’s a lot when you’re in your late twenties and haven’t run since gym class back in school. Not to mention the barely-there energy and weight gain that adulthood seemed to hit me with. Anyway, I had a month to get ready. How did I do it?
The short answer is, baby steps! Of course, you should watch what you eat, stay hydrated, and train slowly but surely. After getting myself a new pair of running shoes, my journey began. I kept a daily log of my progress along the way. What about you? Are you ready to lace up your shoes and start running?

SUMMARY:
- The idea is to walk for 2 minutes, jog for 1 minute, and repeat that over and over again until your jogs hit the 30-minute mark.
- Foods that fuel running include bananas, oats, peanut butter, broccoli, plain yogurt, dark chocolate, whole grain pasta, potatoes, and coffee.
- Sore today too after that insane gym sesh. I guess that’s just gonna be a regular thing for the next month.
- My trainer suggested cycling as cross-training, so I went on a 3-mile bike ride.
- My energy levels are through the roof! I no longer crave afternoon naps.
- I weighed myself today, and I’m down 5 pounds! I’m convinced jogging is the fastest way to lose weight.
- I jogged for 10 solid minutes today and didn’t struggle at all! I’m getting there!
- My trainer told me to be extra careful to stay hydrated. He said to divide my body weight in half, and then drink an ounce per pound.
- I guess exercise improves your complexion because it boosts blood circulation.
- My trainer showed me how to use a tennis ball to massage any problem areas. I do it to the bottoms of my feet, too.
- Listening to music while jogging helps the time go a lot faster.
- Lots of bananas. I’m told the potassium will help balance the electrolytes I lose on longer runs.
- I think my training program must’ve been just right because the run was relatively easy and enjoyable. I can’t wait to sign up for my next race!

Nice work! I was never a runner but my co-workers challenged me to run half marathon. I trained for two months and managed to run it in 2:16. Next year I trained much more consistently and missed my two hour target by a couple of minutes. Next year I will run it under two hours. The point I was making is that training consistently with a running program tailored for your needs is very important. Even though I run faster the second time it felt much easier.

✨ Never even considered running, but took it up on a whim about a year ago. I struggled at first, but now its a huge part of my day, and of my life really. It completely clears my head and put things into much better perspective. Love being outdoors and I have noticed that I’m much less stressed since taking up running. If anyone here feels intimidated to start, just do it. It WILL be hard at first, but you’ll get through it. It’s totally worth the difficult transition. 😊 I hope everyone is having a wonderful Thanksgiving ♥️

I also drink gallons of water and I lost 8 poundd of water weight in my body. Since my background consisted of doing martial arts. I also do movement training but in the movnat routine of using common movements to and fitness. Examples are doing push, pull, crawl, jumping and landing sequence but using obstacles. I also do training founded in Ido Portal doing stationary, negative, isometricated movements to my advantages. Therefore being artistic and running allows me to push more harder and using creativity physically.

Great video. Everyone should run 5K at least 3 times each week. I am in 50s, if I could do it - you could do it. I transferred myself recently- from a couch potato to a runner. I did not follow any guidelines or training except - following own heart. It took 15 days continuous “try” to reach to my first 5K. And for the last 2 months, I am running 5K at a time 4 times each week: my timings are close to 30 mins now a days. It improved dramatically over the last 2 months, down from over 50 minutes to 32 minutes. Not too bad. Other then that, No change in my lifestyle. Nope, nothing changed. I looks the same as I was. I weigh the same as I was. 5K is the minimum effort to remain healthy. I believe, I am now a healthier person. I am sure my overall oxygen management system has improved. All of my internal organs have improved their functions (assuming).

If you have not run for many years and just starting, trying to develop it as a habit, then you needn't to go by this rate. There are serious chances of injury like runner's knee or backache if you try to achieve too much in short period. Go slow and try to improve your distance in long run. Think in this way that you have your whole life to improve, you are not running for a month. Consistency is more important. If you are able to make even one kilometer in the end of the month, that's not bad. Try to improve it from here by adding 10% of this distance for next week or month as per your convenience. Try to remain consistent and also take rest days in between.
