I was not prepared for how beautiful this turned out
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
I have a bunch of acrylic paint pours sitting around my art room. This one I decided to make in to a clock. I think the end results are pretty amazing.
This was a reverse dip pour that I created on a 2'x2' piece of hardboard. The wood was too thin and warped as it dried. I figured that by adding another piece of wood and a layer of resin I could make it solid enough to create a beatiful clock.
This resin art clock DIY was a whole lot of fun to create.

I love it. Here's a tip for finding the centre of a circle, from a mandala dot painter. Draw around your circle onto a piece of paper and cut it out. Fold the circle in half, then in half again. Then snip off the corner, just a tiny snip. Place your opened paper over your painted circle and use a pen or pin to mark the centre. Easy!

I vote YES to adding numbers. As a mom with a special needs kid, I can tell you how hard it is for her to tell time on a blank clock or watch face. I wouldn't add numbers...too much of a detraction. Most people are probably fine with it blank, so it's entirely a personal decision. Great result, especially with the black hands. What did you put on the back for hanging? Personally I'd prefer numbers but they'd be small and along the rim so as not to intrude on the wonderful painting too much. Do you think you could add the clock mechanism to a canvas or would that be too flimsy?
@LeftBrainedArtist
Жыл бұрын
There was a little hook you put in between the wood and the clock body that has a hanger on it. If you had a good washer on both sides it could work if it was resined. WIthout a hard coat like resin it would sage after a while.

Depends on the size of the canvas. For 1/2" depth canvases you can put the saw hooks on an put them directly on the wall. I like to make my own shadow frames too. I never put glass in front of my paintings. For 1 1/2" and gallery wrapped paintings I like to put eye hooks on the inside of the frame (2/3 of the way up) and then string wire and hang them from wire.
