Poor rich color doesn’t matter all patients need to be seen we are all human
That would have gotten her fired.
Such workers are a real threat to the healthcare industry. Socio-economic bias training is a cure, NOT A PREVENTION! There should be better due diligence where such workers are not even hired to begin with. If this isn’t given its due attention, there could be many casualties.
I'm 74 and have had many, many hospital stays. I love Doctors and Nurses for their dedication about keeping everyone healthy. I am alive today only because of them. BTW, never once in all my years has a receptionist insulted me in any way. - Peter

Because you never know how serious it is, and - depending upon the day - may not be able to get in to see their own doctor.

Lots of people use the ER as their private physician. Hospitals cannot turn any patient away regardless of their ability to pay. The hospital I worked in had many “regulars” that used the the hospital for all of their medical needs.

@@SagittariusQueen1980 nope. I’ve gone in just to get my shoulder checked out after dislocating it. That wasn’t a serious issue to some, but as a guitarist, it was to me.
