Good and funny one, especially about CAGED. I thought I knew every teacher on KZread, but just found you. So many teachers don't put diagrams up on the screen, most of us are visual learners. I like triads on strings 1-4. I never realized the switch from the 3 note top of the A shape to that F chord you show at 1:03. I would normally go from the A shape to the D shape on strings 1-3 at the same fret for the F.

@@guitarfriendtim I really have to roll my index finger over to the "thumb side" to get that G string to sound when switching to the 3-finger higher triad. But that works. If the finger is flat that G string is muted. Did you mention if you just slide up 2 frets you have the V chord.

well yeah, but.... you should probably just know some basic triad shapes cold (maj, min, dom, maj7) all over the guitar. and yes it will probably take you months to really own them. and you should be able to relate them to your chord shapes (yes CAGED), scales, and arpeggios. At some point you need to ditch the shortcuts and just know your stuff. Funny video though.

Lmaoooo you are gonna be big someday
"I can't remember all the triads " says professional guitarist . Yeah . I get it because triads are really esoteric & arcane . As my mother used to say - 'don't bullsh*t a bullshi**er' .
First of all Great video. But am I missing something @ 7:39 of the video? I hope that’s just an error. The G-A . If not my thinking is messed up. Anyway going to subscribe and like. Then wander around through all your videos. Have a great day and keep teaching the way you do.

Hilarious 😂and helpful...especially the CAGED robot
Open a and open e shape chords are all you need, ever. I absolutely hate the caged system. Down with the system!

Ah, you speak the truth - the number of time I've held a "d shape" barre chord is exactly zero. E and A all day.
Where have you been all my guitar… playing life?

Hahahaha excellent
At 3:17 you played G to C, but your screen text showed G to A. Typo, or you still need to learn those triads? ;-) No worries, details will get you every time no matter how careful we are.

Great lesson. At 3:17 I think you mean G-C, not G-A.

L'idée de base est intéressante mais on reste sur sa faim car ce n'est hélas pas approfondi.
well yeah, but.... you should probably just know some basic triad shapes cold (maj, min, dom, maj7) all over the guitar. and yes it will probably take you months to really own them. and you should be able to relate them to your chord shapes (yes CAGED), scales, and arpeggios. At some point you need to ditch the shortcuts and just know your stuff. Funny video though.

Amen to hard work!
CAGED = a cage. No one who is an original, high-quality guitarist ever learns CAGED.
