I almost feel like this is the lesson guitar instructors have been hiding from us all along, preventing us from becoming as good as them.. Like seriously, this unlocks so much it almost pisses me off…years of lessons and no one shared this. Their secret is out now, and they’ve all been exposed as frauds. Im coming to active melody from now on for all my lessons. Thanks for the light bulb moment!

@@MelModica I just like this guy because he shows the road maps. Guys like Tim Pierce are great teachers/players but they never really show you the road map. When I brought this up to Tim Pierce,he actually yelled at me telling me subscribe to his pay lessons. But why would i do that if im not happy with his free ones? Active Melody focuses on road maps thats why i like him so much. I think his name might be Brian, but not sure.

A teacher (not guitar teacher) once told me “Teaching is an ever decreasing circle of lies that winds it’s way slowly to the truth”. I doubt that guitar teachers are deliberately lying to their pupils but it does always surprise me why so much time is spent in the ‘beginner’ years learning first open chords, then struggling with barre chords, only to then be told ‘You don’t need all those notes or to struggle with the barre, just play these 3 strings”. Anyway, so glad Brian is here to bring us to the ‘truth’ :). Been a premium member for years. Best value teaching site available. If you are not already, do it! You won’t regret it.

I really like the way that this guy teaches. Through his explanation, you can sense an immense body of knowledge, but it is done without ego in a way of someone that remembers and sympathizes with the journeys struggle. I really like how he makes no assumption about your skill level with his explanation. He also provides equivalent examples and analytical parallels to try to make the material contextual. This is very rare and refreshing to see. It's makes learning enjoyable.

These Triads lessons have been an eye opener for me. Like many people I know the chords on the low strings E,A and D. You just opened up so much more for me showing these triad chords and positions. I like that you keep reminding everyone how they are related to the caged system. I really think you are on to something here. I would continue to cover all the functionality of the triads and how they are used in relation to the caged system. Just knowing the caged system doesn’t really help anybody if they don’t know what to do with it. Same with the modes. You can learn them but if you don’t understand or have useful knowledge of how to use them they are useless. Thank you very much for the knowledge, you are a great guitar teacher.

Just recently rediscovered your channel and I think you're one of the best explainers and dot-connectors out there! Absolutely perfect for where I'm at in my guitar journey. Light bulbs are exploding 🤘🤘, thank you for putting these up!
