I Want to Like my 2022 Tundra but its already having issues.. Check Engine Light

Use Maxx10 for discount on Heretic Studios lights! :www.hereticstu...?sca_ref=32606.aw4WkGtKK9 Its never a good feeling to get a check engine light while thousands of miles from home, its even worse when the vehicle you're driving is literally a few weeks old. To say I'm disappointed with the new 2022 Tundra would be putting it mildly, but so far the issues i have encountered have been relatively mild as well. I am hoping that in time i will start to enjoy my new tundra a bit more. I am sure I will love it once we get it built up and looking a little more respectable so long as these check engine lights stop happening. If your tundra gets one of these check engine lights, disconnect the battery for a few minutes and restart the truck, drive cautiously for a while to see if the problem comes back. The new tundra's have been popping a a grill shudder code and a parking brake malfunction code a lot but it has been reportedly due to sensor issues. #2022tundra #tundra

There are a few times in my life where I looked back at the decisions that I made and thank the God in heaven I made the right choice. One of those was definitely marrying my wife, the second was picking the career that I have, and the third was buying a 2021 Tundra TRD Pro double cab and not waiting for the 2022 Tundra.

I was a bit disappointed when I decided to buy my 2020 Tundra because I wanted to buy the new redesign but got tired of waiting. The truck retailed just under 45k and I bought it for 36k. Now with the current crazy high prices and the underwhelming 2022 redesign I realize it was probably a blessing.

Bought a 2022 4Runner Off Road Premium a couple weeks ago. Rushed to get it to make sure I had one before the 5th gen 4Runner was gone for good (2023 looks to be the last year). I rushed to get it because I fully expect the new 6th Gen 4Runner to have a lot of problems. Which is crazy because even for the first year of new models, you still don't expect Toyotas to have issues. What's more is there is a rumor that the 6th Gen for North America will be manufactured in the Mexico factory, not Tahara. Obviously this is all useless info for anyone looking for a truck with a bed, as the 4Runner does not have a bed. But I guess just saying that your video is validating my concerns. I feel very lucky to own one of the most bullet proof vehicles on the road. And easy to work on. MPG sucks but the 4Runner will see 8,500 miles a year AT THE MOST.

I was actually expecting a video were the Tundra had to be towed or something like that. I been researching for videos like this with trucks having mechanical issues and this is the first video on a Toyota Tacoma most of the vifeos I have found are from Ford F150 Tremor owners, Chevy Silverado Trail Boss and Jeep Gladiators. I'm in the market for a full size truck and really leaning toward the Tundra TRD Pro but I will wait for another to go by and hopes all this chip shortage problems go away.

The reason why I never buy the first or second-year models of the newest generation. They usually have problems and takes the company a few years to fix them.

It's not a skid plate, it's a splash shield. And that's why I wouldn't buy any new gen of model vehicles until a few years. That's bc manufacturers still has bugs, errors and improvements to make.

Active check engine light vs recorded check engine light. At least you can scan for codes...and it will still be there for troubleshooting. That tire with the nail in it...has to be replaced. That's the sidewall...and should not be patched and driven on.

meanwhile my 07 has 180K and the light has never been on, runs absolutely perfect, I don't hesitate to jump in it and drive cross country. The 22 had bad reliability issues off the bat, dealerships cannot even sell them right now. People bitched about wanting more tech and Toyota ruined the most reliable 1/2 ton on the road all for 1-2 MPGs... Really sad. Do yourself a favor, sell that piece of junk and get a 21.

Especially because you're out with your family I got GX I get everywhere I need to go The only problem with it is it takes premium fuel other than that no issues regular maintenance.

You should not have cleared the code so now you may not know what the actual issue was. Also after disconnecting battery the car may not run smooth until a few hours/days in newer cars.

Sorry that this happened to you and your family, I know it is annoying but, to be fair its the first year of a brand new generation of a vehicle, where everything is new... There is always going to be teething problems for the first year or two... Ford, Chevy and Ram have all had the same issues before, look at the ten speed transmission on Fords and Chevys, and the ford Ecoboost had issues with water condensing in the intercoolers and would hydrolock the engine, same with the 2.7 eco boost in the bronco having complete engine failure are 2k miles, ram had issues with quality control and problems and then with there eco diesel engine only last 15-25k miles before complete failure... Same with Chevy with there 5.3 & 6.2 V8 spinning main bearings and bending pushrods, then there 3.0 diesels leaking from the read main seals, long Crank and no-starts. All new cars/trucks have problems brother. Toyota tends to have better reliability long term compared to other manufacturers especially after they engineer the glitch out and get past the teething stage. Even our Tacomas had issues when they first came out. Once again love the show and keep doing you bro, excited to see you build the tundra.

Yea the emissions standards and "technology" make these newer cars sort of like little toys or something. They do not make them like they used to. I prefer my 04 Tacoma.

Ya Maxx, I looked at one of these and just sighed... I so wanted to like it, now I am just not going to buy anything new till the stupids with all of the manus gets fixed. I'm driving a 2003 GMC Yukon XL with the 8.1 and to be brutally honest, it is more of a great rig than I thought. I bought it after our 2018 ram 3500 HO, with AEV stuff broke 2 drag links, I then went well lets try a 3.0 duramax, and it was just like this, flimsy. I let the door go at a gas station BARELY and it hit a pole guarding the tank, and neat dent in the aluminum. I then got told that towing and burning oil are normal, as well as 14 mpg with a small cargo trailer, I got mad they told me "this is how it is with all vehicles now." OK, fine, I'm done, looked all over for an 8.1 and guess what? It is reliable, tows better than that Ram one ton ever dreamed of (not amounts but comfort and speed). I was at the shop where my 91 land cruiser is getting worked at, and the mechanic was talking about my 8.1, how people don't realize how good they are. I told him, seriously, if it gets totaled I have not a clue what I would replace it with. No idea. 38 or more gallon tank? Sucks to fill but it has a killer range, even when towing and hey, no DEF or worrying about fuel. Sorry man, that is no fun buying a new rig and it sucks.

I feel you pain about these issues on your new truck . I feel that todays market .. like after year of 2000 , and forward… cars are not designed to last like the old days. There are lot of things that’s with the mpg regulations and smog .. like old days electronic fuel injection vs now is direct injection or something like that and they burn hotter and noisy like diesel .
