I've been hearing of more serious issues with these trucks, from rear ends to blown engines. Surprised to see so many little build quality issues as well. This is not your Father's Toyota, evidently.

I haven't had that much stuff break or any loose trim on my 2013 Ram 1500 and Toyota's are supposed to have good build quality.

Right? Same with my '18 F-150, which doesn't exactly have great build quality itself.

Maybe I should of bought a 2013 Tundra instead of 2022. They don't make them like they used to!

I do long drives on my 23 sr5 tundra, no issues and it really comfortable to where driving long trips are really enjoyable, I did have to install seat risers as I am not too tall about 5-9. I do carry a lot of weight sometime and it feels awesome only issue I have is the wireless connection to my phone. so far best truck ive owned

Good review. I have the 22 TRD off road and I love it. Is it perfect? No, but you're right. What automaker is producing solid vehicles these days?

As far as trucks go, you might want to try Ram 1500.

@@williamzhang963 I had 1st gen tundra and sold it at 235k. It was solid. I thought about the 2022 1500, but they have lifted cam failures and “etorque problems”

Post covid it really just seems like QC across the board has taken a significant hit for all manufacturers.

I think its just a brake hold feature and not a engine stop feature.

Seems like the music has stopped now and if you have one of these timebombs you're stuck with it for the foreseeable future as it's become non-sellable as a trade-in or on wholesale. People saying it's no big deal but personally I think Toyota trucks have a budd Lite future ahead of them given the triple customer betrayal (pricing , engine options, tundra timebomb)

They are not competing for lower EPA standards, they are complying.FJB. 2.5 gen is best 1/2ton made. Nice review Chris.

Tony.... Every Truck manufacturer in America matches Toyota's emissions. And still manufacture a naturally aspirated V6 and V8. Toyota is under new management as of 2021. This new CEO has changed Toyota from the ground up to produce and sell more cars at a faster pace. A Toyoda is no longer running the company. It has nothing to do with Biden. The current emissions standards were signed in 2019 Under Trump. Biden has only changed and adjusted the standards for electric vehicles. Man MAGA is sure making the rest of us look dumb to the world.
