I saw the diapers that no one can get in your video about them. I took some screenshots of this and have re-sewn and modified them several times. You don't even need a sewing machine for this, but if you can use it, you can definitely make such pieces yourself. I have seven Serama chickens and therefore need more diapers. Buying is not an option for me because I always want to do everything myself. 🙂

I selected the velcro though for Sophie instead of snaps. It's very sticky. And I don't pull the elastic through her legs, just over her wings. Both Sophie and I prefer these now. I'm going to order more

Oh Sophie is a Sapphire Gem, 4 lbs @ 4 months old. We got 3 diapers from Yelisia/Owly; 2 x M and 1 x L. They all fit just fine, but for sure the L has a bigger pouch. When I get more I might see if she can do a M body and L pouch.

So I got two of these diapers, took me a hot minute to figure out how to put them on but now that I figured it out it’s so easy 😂 I really like them but every now and then she poops and it comes out so that may be an adjustment on my part, I’m finding most the diapers I try are really easy for her to slide her wings out of but idk it that’s because she is a silkie idk 😂 but so far I like these. I saw peckington is possibly taking new orders in febuary. So I’m really hoping that happens because those seem to be the one everyone has the best success with.

Yes! Can't wait for Peckingtons to come back! I think the Fur Momma Creations or Avian Fashions/Feather Wear Shop (website launching early this month) ones would be hard for someone to escape.

I want to try diapers on my girls...but I have fricken 6 of them and I did the chicken math here and it comes out to be I suck at figuring out simple equations! Would I need 18 diapers?! I feel like 3 each so there's always a dry one, a half dry one and a freshly washed one...times 6...then multiply that by the price per diaper and now I am dipping into my retirement funds...I currently pay $3.99 for a 6 roll package of cheap toilet paper every week for poop clean-up...ughhh I want my girls to just shit in diapers!!!

You and Tina did a fabulous job of critiquing this diaper! Both of you obviously wanted to be thorough and showed so much patience!!! If I had a small bird, this design would be fabulous. It looks like my girls are not fully grown yet, so adjustable straps will be a must. And thank you for pointing out the need for egg room. As far as the 'V' cut out on some other diapers you reviewed, I thought at first that it was for allowing me to pull the pouch up with my finger; but now that you explained the curve on this pouch, the v notch may be an attempt to allow preening... what do you think?

Thank you for joining me on this diaper adventure!! LOL Do you think for a bigger bird the need for bulkier straps is necessary? I was thinking that larger chickens will need more substantial straps to carry a heavier "load" more comfortably. I've heard the V cut out referred to as a tail notch, so the tail has somewhere to go, but the diaper design and that tail notch don't quite harmonize. I also need to note that I've only ever diapered seramas, sebrights, and silkies, so I don't have experience with standard size breeds.

These gals are accidental crosses of a Silkie and a bantam modern game. Although they look almost identical to some, their body shape is very different. I would say Millie is Silkie shaped, and has the most butt fluff and tail roundness.

Velcro is an option? I couldn't possibly do the snaps... Hopefully thicker elastic is available, or, as you mentioned, some fabric. Mynti is shaped more like Tina, but thicker (bigger boned). BTW, the have their own raisin container now, their favorite (only) SNACK 😊
