I’ve never been more disappointed by a motorcycle! The MUTT GT SR 125. This bike is up for sale for £2999 ‪@in2moto480‬ it looks amazing but I’ve never been more disappointed with how it rides. It’s slow. It vibrates like nothing I’ve ever ridden. It’s the first time I’ve ever experienced riding a 125cc tractor. It’s just not for me. #motorbike #motorcycle #newbike #english #bike #gillybikes #bikes #mutt #worst #worstbike #worstmotorcycle #mutt #125 #england #motorcyclereview #bikereview #awful #poor #poo #garbage #tractor

It's 11bhp. It's not going to be quick. This bike is designed as an entry-level learner bike for a 17 year old who is probably built like a racing snake and who has only ridden a pedal cycle before. To that young person, this bike will feel like a rocket! Also to that 17 year-old, image is important and the Mutt (as you correctly observe) looks the part. That bike will give a sense of freedom and control to that 17 year-old and they will have a lot of fun with it. That's the point of this type of motorcycle. My first bike was a Honda CB100, with just 10bhp! That didn't stop me (aged 17) riding from Peterborough to John O'Groats via Oban and back again; that's 2000 miles in ten days on a slow bike in the 1980's, way before mobile phones, sat nav and the internet. Anyway, off to Europe next week on my 411 Royal Enfield Himalayan, just 24 bhp. Not booked my return ferry as I write this. Hey ho. Have fun. Love and peace.

I’ve been on loads of bikes this year from 2hp upwards. This bike on paper has 11hp but just seemed really poor. I jumped on this after going on the Lexmoto Michigan and that was much better than this. Performance was better and it was half the price. 😳. And I’m only slightly jealous of your tour. I like to travel like that as well. If you don’t book a return you can try and stay a few days xtra days. Ride safe and enjoy your trip. 😎

Back in February , I bought a secondhand Bullit 125 on a 2020 plate . The previous owner had kept it outside under a cover , so there was some surface rust on it ( easily sorted ) . Since February , I have put almost 800 miles on it , and it hasn't missed a beat . Speedwise , I have had it up to 70mph ( downhill with a southerly wind behind me😃) , but realistically you are looking at anywhere between 50-60mph . I have taken it on the Motorway too , where it will sit at 55-60 okay , which isn't a problem for me personally . The standard chain on the bike is poor , I have had to adjust it a couple of times in almost 800 miles , so I'll be swapping it out for a better quality chain ..My only concern regarding reliability on my bike would possibly be the " electrics" .... Anway , that's my experience so far on a 2020 Bullit 125 ..... So regarding the " Mutt " ......the bikes look fantastic , but are vastly overpriced . They are almost identical to the Bullit but are almost twice the price ( brand new and secondhand ) The reason for that probably , is that they are " tarted up " here in the UK which puts the cost up ....But ....?????.....Would I buy one ????......the answer to that one would be YES , but it would be one of the 250 variants , which I like the looks of personally ....cheap to run and easy to maintain .....Cheers👍

It’s nice to hear a positive story. I personally wouldn’t buy one of these because they are really expensive for what they are. And after a while of riding this one the vibration was just to much for me. I would just save money and buy a keeway or a Benelli.

They are nice looking bikes but I know local Kawasaki dealer uses to sell Mutt but dropped franchise as not happy with support from supplier. People day stick with Japanese but it only seems to be Chinese that offer retro 125

There are lots of decent Chinese bikes out there. Benelli make some great 125’s and Keeway have come along way with their bikes as well. I would happily recommend them. Japanese bikes are good because they have had many more years to get their processes right but you pay in some cases so much more. Not everyone can afford a £5-6k bike but bikes half that price can be just as good.

The biggest problem with these bikes is the engines are strangled by the need to keep the emmissions within the euro 4/5 spec which means they are never going to set the world on fire, or anything else for that matter. You could try fitting a slightly larger rear sprocket, one or two teeth, no more, which will improve the acceleration a little but this will sacrifice top speed a little but at least you will get there!.

Today's learners have a vast choice of 125's from numerous manufacturers (most Chinese!!). Back in the 1980's, there were only 8 manufacturers selling 125's in the UK (how many can you name?). . The 1980's 125's were divided into two groups, 2 stroke 125's and slow (4 stroke) 125's..

style wise it looks ok but the quality of the mutt bikes just isn't there, they just don't last well at all, the engines usually fine as it's based off the suzuki GS/GN range but the rest is where it gets let down, on the performance note I've found the older carbed model of these bikes and similar ones have a little more oomph in them, something about the EFI on these with the GS/GN copy engine just doesn't play nice together.

For a start the mudguards are almost non extant & look totally useless . The appears to be a low budget generic Chinese offering that’s sold under a number of names all over the world . I reckon Sinnis & Lexmoto have or had a version of it , should be reliable even if agricultural ,but I reckon there are better budget Chinese bikes out there to be had . It’s not unknown for certain importers to spend a few quid slightly upgrading & tarting up these generic Chinese 125 / 250 scrambler styled bikes , & banging up the price point twice the price . If you can get a used one that’s in reasonable tidy & running condition for a couple of hundred quid ,they may be worth a punt ,if your handy on the spanner’s . Other wise I would give them a wide berth .

@nohandlefound. There is Chinese parts on line , & usually you can find electrical parts generic to other models ,that can utilised . These bikes are hardly cutting edge mechanical or electrical technology . I have seen some Chinese models sold by Sinnis or Lexmoto that have been out of production & supposedly obsolete , kept running for years ,using parts or adapting parts from other makes . The engines are usually a cloned 125 Suzuki or Honda engine with cloned electrical generators & stators , that the Chinese have got down to a fine art & even available on line dirt cheap .

Most small capacity Japanese bikes are built in China (and have been for 20+ years)to keep the price down. Many KTM engines and all of their derivatives are also built there as are, Benelli's, Moto Morini's, Huskies, Bluroc's/Bullit's, Herald's, Mash's , AJS's , possibly also Gilera's in the future, etc etc etc..........................................
