MY HONEST OPINION OF THE MUTT MONGREL 125

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

I'm no mechanic nor do I proclaim to have a deep understanding of motorcycles. The aim of this video is to get across to you my views on this great motorcycle and how it's treated me over my first year of riding in London. Hope you enjoy it and ask if you have any questions for me!

    Look for the mash 125 , I know they are in Europe . Same engine etc, mutt just dress them differently. Basically sinnis, hanway, mash, herald, hmc, mutt,lexmoto, are basically the same . Same engine , frame, just varies on forks, seats , colours, wheels.

    I've been looking at them since they were launched a few years back now as a second bike. I like the retro style, but I would prefer a 250cc and Mutt did sell a limited number a while back. I'm now considering the Herald 250cc Rambler as it is a descent looking bike for £3500. You will notice a huge difference with your new Street Twin, they are nice also. Good video mate as there aren't many on YT. :)

    the issue is that you can get the same thing from an importer for just shy of 2 grand and the 250 versions at over 4 grand are competing with honda / ktm and other main brands.

    I must say I've been looking at these as a little comuter for work and the occasional bit of green laneing, that said I think the hanway scrambler is my current choice because it has better front suspension and a stainless exhaust, plus better tires for green laning, that said as tempting as it is I'm thinking of getting my bike licence and getting one with a bit bigger of an engine lol

    Nice bike. There is a Thai bike manufacturer called Stallions which makes a range of bikes much like this using Chinese parts like this manufacturer does. They do 125, 250 and 400 models. My favourite is the Stallions CT400 Scrambler. In Europe I believe these bikes are called Mash.

    Hey Nick, Nice Vid. Do you think this will suit/comfortable enough for a 20mile each way from Swanscombe to London Commute? Seriously looking out for a comfortable commuter. Looking at Sinnis scrambler, Mutt Mongrel, Sinnis Terrain, Lexmoto Michigan or Valiant. Will be taking non-motorway route though.

  • @AngelDjay
    @AngelDjay Жыл бұрын

    Looking at the difference between the mongrel and the mastiff I just bought, fuel injection rear disk brake the seat on the mastiff is very hard but goes well with a scrambler, and the knobbly tyres one thing I did notice for a 125 is very quick on acceleration as long as you fire it through the gears, clocks are fantastic with the digital display plus it deals with the weather bad weather with no issues. Faults I find the seat takes in water through the fancy stitching plus there's literally no padding more like a wooden plank, the suspension is almost solid, gear change indicator tends to lock but who needs one just a gadget. What I'm a bit confused over is the use of solid plastic brake pipes on moving parts such as front forks and rear swing arm, I see the pipes fracturing in time with sunlight and movement but had experience with brake loss before in the past so no problem to me but still BF Goodridge pipes would have made more sense other than that, love the little bike its more fun than any big bike I own.

    "just before the first service there were a few rattles here and there, but that's to be expected of a new bike".... no mate, this is exactly NOT what is expected from a NEW bike, it might be expected from a beat up machine bought second hand from someone you don't know, maybe... Within the last 3 years I had 3 new bikes and couple of used ones in my garage and even on the used ones (not even mentioning new ones) there were no "rattles" when taking them into the service, none. If that's "to be expected" from a chinese bike, I am not surprised that they have the opinion as they do...

    Hey Lukas, As far as I know Mutt Motorcycles is a sister company to Herald [someone correct me if I'm wrong!]. The bikes are much the same in terms of spec but I've never ridden a Herald machine. I too was looking at them before i bought my mutt but decided on the Mutt as it checked all my boxes in terms of style. MMC are building bigger bikes now too, there was the 250 Mauler and the New Mushman 400 so take your pick. personally for my bigger bike i went with Triumph as i trust their components when I'm doing a ton, but that's no critiscism to Mutt on their reliability and build quality...it was just my preference. Happy hunting!

    A great looking bike, but 45-50mpg is truly appalling, and a real deal breaker for me. I’ve gotten far more than this in the past from 250’s. With the Ukrainian crisis and petrol going into the stratosphere, I hope the new models are a lot more economical, or this company could soon be out of business. Incidentally, I’d strongly recommend never entertaining spoked wheels on a bike (even though they look great) as they require tubes, which if punctured deflate almost instantly, throwing the bike into a deadly wobble! They now make the FSR 125/250, with cast wheels.

    There is nothing better than people with own opinion! These people are like those one staring on expensive picture in art gallery. They will tell you, its marvellous picture. Hide the price and author, replace it with low price and no name author, they will tell you its junk.
