    Just 3 weeks ago started back with grease lotta body leave and and water and the best decision I made for my hair I also grease my scalp o kid you not the shedding has significantly decreased my hair is softer and I’m actually excited to do my hair now and wash it. All these natural hair brands did was make my hair dry as hell and she’d like crazy I thought I had a health issue seriously. Bottom line I’m glad I went back to the basics and my hair is thanking me too, key is I don’t use a lot so I don’t have that overly greasy feel

    I like your method for caring for your hair--to keep it simple. When I think of all the women of color in my environment growing up who had beautiful long hair--including my mom--they kept hair care very simple...and yes, we used hair grease along with little manipulation. It seems we have lost or gotten away from this basic knowledge nowadays. Boy, my hair would be so much longer and healthier had I not started messing with it some much!

And conditioning with hair grease for about the last month or so, and I have to say, my hair has truly stopped breaking as much! Its been a while I've been having so much breakage. Thought it was due to my age and some it probably is. But I am truly grateful for your videos. Thank you. I will keep u posted on my progress. 🥰

I do only wash once a week, but as soon as I shampoo I use my hair grease and make 2 to 6 twists then pin it up and wear a hat or wig. Hi, Mrs. Mississippi! First off, I just wanna say thanks to you and Nezi Napps, moisturizing, sealing, and twisting my hair has grown it to collar bone length (I did a big chop and started my journey back in May/June). But I do have a question. I’m wearing box braids now and as you know, wearing box braids is a protective style and protective styles grow my hair like crazy. But, would you recommend applying grease on the scalp and massaging it while wearing box braids? If so, how often should I do it?

  • @mrs.mississippi5035

    @mrs.mississippi5035

    3 жыл бұрын

    Hi! It depends on how long you are going to wear the box braids and how you plan to take care of the scalp. If you are planning to wear them for a long time, I suggest "not" greasing your scalp unless you plan to shampoo the roots. If you grease your scalp and don't shampoo it out often, the scalp will be really really itchy....it will be a "deep" itch because the skin will continue to dry out because the grease will block moisture from the skin. If you do decide to use it, I suggest "one" time per wash. Let me know if this is helpful! Thanks for your support!

    Hi Mrs. M! I did a baddd thing with my hair! I pre poo my hair with my DIY shea butter, and left it on for like 2 weeks! When I washed my hair, it was "shed city"! I should have known better from watching your hair grease video about leaving grease on the hair for an extended amount of time. I thought I could get away with it, due to me NOT coming my hair. I had it in sections when I washed it. It was sooo debydrated!

    OMG, I’m so sorry to hear! 😢 Yes, that Shea butter will dry the heck out of your hair. In one video, I talked about how my ends were just falling off after using Shea butter. Also, YES, grease will do it too!!! You have to wash it out and reset it. Did you try wetting your hair with hot water and then putting a plastic bag over it for a while to remoisturize it before washing?

    No, I didn't say that. I said, don't try to moisturize your hair by spraying water on it after you have applied the grease. It's best to just wash the hair to get rid of the old grease and then re-apply the grease. I'm sorry if you misunderstood.
