Does CarPlay stop functioning as normal when the device is connected? I have an iPhone and I like being able to type on my phone the address/destination on Waze and having It show up on the car’s screen. Would any functionality like that be compromised?

Hey Jon, your videos are all awesome. I finally took delivery of my TRD PRO this week. I'm curious if you can help with something? When I say: "hey Toyota, take me home!" it tells me that it doesn't have a home address set up in navigation and I can't for the life of me figure it out. Have you made a good display tutorial video? (for the larger screen) if so I can't find it.

Congrats!! I think you need to set up your home address in your Toyota app in your phone. That way it is linked to the profile. I believe you can also set it up inside the map settings.

I wonder if there’s a way to take the dash apart unplug that USB from the back and run a splitter so it could go to the cargo area between the seats so you could hide the device instead of having it plugged in all the time

I've only used it in the dash. I believe that is the only one that transfers data

I want to add a thermal forward looking camera. Hdmi is the cameras interface. How would someone add a camera to this. Or even an additional back up camera for a trailer.

I do have one on my 2022 tundra and believe me, now that big screen make sense, I love it. Also you can use a cellular SIM card and it’s way better than using the hotspot from your phone.

I am so glad I found your video. When I got my 2023 Tundra, I was looking forward to everything I could do with that giant screen. However Android auto leaves so much to be desired and is so limited. This device is awesome!!!!

Great idea..like screen recording or an app..the device would need to have a good amount of storage I doubt this has that kind of capability..

I bought a binize box and I connect it but my tundra doesn't recognize it, it doesn't work, do you know something that you can help me with?

Mine went right away. Did you go into settings? It takes a little bit the first time to set it up

I was just about to ask the same question! Don’t want it to look like it’s on the middle.

Curious about this style of system. Does your phone then chime or beep like normal when getting text or other messeges in the car at that point? With the latest generation of android auto, when driving I do not get those alerts like I would if I was not in my car, It only alerts me on phone calls.

Unfortunately this product didn’t work on my 2021 4Runner. After connecting this to the port I still see the projection option and not the apple car play. But I do appreciate you sharing this product on KZread :)

The phone type (Apple vs Android) isn’t important. The Binize is an Android device that uses your screen. I have used an Apple phone with mine.

Can anyone confirm if it still works? I just bought the same one and it does not pop up whatsoever on my 2023 tundra capstone.

I had trouble with mine contacted the factory and they were able to troubleshoot it. It happened to be at the cable provided with the unit was not giving the unit enough power so I bought a USB 3.0 to USB C. And it worked in case anybody is looking for a troubleshoot swap out the cable with a 3.0.

I think they are pllug and play.

I used this on a long trip in my 23 Tundra. There are certain buttons that must be pushed to make this work. First, you need a SIM card to make it work. You can use the SIM card in your phone by making your phone a hotspot, then connecting with the Binize. Or, you can plug a SIM card into the Binize. The problem with hotspots, I had to reconnect every time I parked the vehicle for any length of time. My biggest problem is that I use Apple Maps, and was not able to download Apple Maps to this Android device. This was a dealbreaker for me.

You don't have to use a hot spot. You can add an SD card and download shows or movies onto it. Apple Carplay works with this as well. You just have to set it up in the carkit and it works with this system.

@@TRDJon Thanks. I’m really enjoying your vids. I bought an SR, and it doesn’t.t have all the lights. I wonder if the wiring harness is different between the grades (SR, SR5..), and if maybe the wires that I need are there. I can say that the 7 pin towing harness wiring harness was attached to an inside dash panel, within reach of it’s intended switch location.

Just a thought. New Tundras have hotspots. You could just pay for that rather than the 4G.

Most states it is illegal to "watch" tv while driving. The screen has to be behind the driver for passenger viewing only. Just an FYI if ya see Five OH.
