In this video, I show you all what ownership was like for the 2022+ 3rd Gen Toyota Tundra after one year. I put 15,000 miles on this truck throughout my time of ownership. Aside from a few issues that the dealer was able to fix and some that weren't, this truck was amazing to own.
I enjoyed road tripping and just daily driving this truck over the last year. It's been great and I am glad that it gets to stay in Florida.

@John DoeI can’t speak on what numbers you managed to Google to try to ease the pain of your butthurt, all I can say is I’ve had ZERO recalls and ZERO issues on an almost 10 year old vehicle. Of course Ford has issues, every company does, all I’m saying is Toyota is putting out products with issues that should have easily been spotted in testing. As an adult I feel i should use this as a moment to teach you a life lesson, don’t call a stranger a bro and then call them a clown bc you will get punched in the mouth, but this won’t pertain to you bc you’re a keyboard warrior. I just hit my one year ownership of my 22 platinum. I’ve found more than a few things I’ve noticed so far that bug me. First off the IQ wireless charger has been virtually useless as it constantly disconnects. The deployable running boards have started to slow down, and don’t deploy as quickly. I have also noticed they will sometimes freak out and fail to deploy / retract. I could list a few other pet peeves I have, but I love it and it’s been an absolute blast to drive. And I’ve driven across the country and many a states without any issues.

I have a 2010 Tundra SR5 with 118k on it. Absolutely love my truck. The 2023 version of my truck is now nearly $60k. I honestly don't know how people are affording the new Tundras and Tacoms let alone the Squoias and Land cruisers. Holy S*&t!
Sounds like a lot of quality control and cost cutting on certain components with the new Tundra. Also the cost cutting on interior quality and sound deadening are not a good look. Is def the loudest interior in the market among full size trucks, which is surprising since its a brand new model.
Great looking truck. I like the lift, tires, wheels, TRD badging on the grill, and the American flag tundra script on the tailgate.

Not everybody is doing rock crawling and whoops. Some of us have a need for the longer box and still use our trucks offroad and there isn't 1 single truck out there that offers a longer box with the top offroad trim. Pretty crappy to not give the option.
Wow, who could have thought a new Toyota will have all these problems.
I love my 23. My issue was the back window rattling when down a third of the way. Apple car play would continue to kick me out at random. Also automatic front collision braking would randomly engage. So I just turned that off. But other that and thinking it should get a bit better mpg. It’s solid and quick.

I appreciate the content and look forward to seeing how the TRD Pro holds up long-term, but if I ever do bite the bullet and get one of these 3rd gens, I still might stick with the non-hybrid motor. My main reasoning is that's the drivetrain you get in a 300 series Land Cruiser so from a longevity standpoint it has to be good, but also, I really do like that storage space under the rear seats. Maybe you can come up with another storage compartment/rail system of some sort when you get the new one.
Sorry you had so many issues and you are not alone. What a nightmare. Stories like this are why I bought the 2018 1794 model. When Toyota gets their act together again, we can talk. Using customers for R&D on THEIR dime and time is inexcusable.

I’m curious why you would want to trade a truck so perfect in the first place? What exactly does the new truck do that you’re truck isn’t capable of? Towing, hauling? I bought my truck in 2010 and it works great, never occurred to me to trade it for basically the same thing. It’s like a hammer once you get one why look for a new one? To each their own though, but I always hear people say they had a perfect thing but got rid of it.
So this is an SR5 with the TRD sport or pro package?

The previous model doesn't really have any flaws. Toyotas are popular because they do their primary function well. They run. Chevrolets, Fords, and the Ram trucks are breaking down left and right. My step-mother recently bought an Escalade. It has somewhere between 30 and 40k on it, and the engine is done. The dealer is rebuilding the engine. They will not replace it. She paid over 100k for this vehicle. Then the dealership left it parked outside... after promising that they wouldn't (she is VERY particular), and it sustained significant hail damage. They didn't even call her to tell her. She went up there to check on it and found out. Then these yahoos told her that she would have to file on HER insurance. This is not an uncommon occurrence. I know this because the dealership knew exactly what was wrong with it as soon as they got it.
I want to get rid of my 2019 ram rebel. Something went wrong electrical wise and dealer can’t find a solution.. I really like tundras especially this new gen but sheesh there’s a lot of issues it seems like.

It sure is!
The v6 trucks are plain stupid. Your not even saving gas mileage. My HD gasser gets 14 mpg, with a lift and mud tires. Why would I get a smaller turbo engine, just to save 3 mpg? And that’s stock? Sure the power is nice. But it doesn’t have a quarter of the reliability. Maybe if you use the truck as a mom mobile, otherwise you gotta be very gentle with them. Ecoboosts don’t last as work trucks. Most of the guys who have crazy high mileage use them as highway commuters. Tons of guys beating them to heck, and they die at 150k miles.
Toyota should have considered the old V8 engine 5.7 engine and do a hybrid V8 ⛽ gasoline and continue with the V 8 diesel engines 4.5 with increasing the horsepowers and torques, those new V6 3.5 twin turbos gasoline engines and 3.3 V6 diesel engines we as consumers and customers have to be very careful taking into consideration..

We don't want any damned hybrid pickups. We don't want V6s in a full size pickup. Nobody with any sense wants a dino (diesel in name only). We want V8s with a key ignition and the least amount of electronics possible. In short, we want actual pickup trucks . . .
What was the fuel economy difference with the tires and stuff

RRW wheels and nitto ridge grapplers. I have a full build video on this truck on my page 👍🏼
The only similarities between this and the first gen is the window rattle lol love my first gen
I sold my 23 Tundra, due to being so disappointed with the changes. It was my 3 rd tundra. The motor was fine , I didn’t like the smaller size leg room on long trips, and several other annoying things. Especially the engine auto stopping at red lights and having to change settings to be able to back a trailer without it locking the brakes. Also NO FRONT TOW HOOKS !, Wait problems with the AC cooling efficiently. Sooo. I bought a 24 Nissan Titan Pro 4x. IMO it’s a better truck. 19 MPG hwy with the V8 is impressive for the Nissan. The stock Tundra is now a chick truck unless you plan to spend a lot extra money.

Enjoy the Titan man!
The “mustache” grill surround is the ugliest feature! No fake chrome!
I’m no where close to being within the arena of being able to afford one of these full-size pickups, given that I’m still young (18yrs); however, that doesn’t negate the fact that I might be a consumer in the future. I hope and wish to take the family out on healthy weekend getaways, hauling a fifth-wheel toy hauler comfortably with Toyota reliability.
