There’s an older gentleman in my neighborhood with an old little basset hound. They will always match jackets whether it’s a christmas sweater, or just one to keep warm. It’s adorable.

Tip: use embroidery thread (you don’t have to use all 6 strands; 3 or 4 is enough) to sew buttons onto coats - much likelier to stay on for a long time.

as a quilter the idea that one of my creations might be tossed into a donation bag is horrifying. I only hope that someone like you finds it simply because they understand and love that quilt.

As a quilter, I would be horrified that someone would cut up one of my quilts to make impractical shorts out of it. What season is that good for? Quilted summer outfit? You’d sweat a lot.

If you still have the scraps, you should make a bag. A cute cross body bag or mini backpack would be great. Also, Walmart has some of the most comfortable pajamas. I have been in the hospital for most of this year, and I have pretty much lived in Walmart pajamas, especially their $5 nightgowns, which I used as an alternative to hospital gowns by cutting a line down the back of them.

You are so inspiring Jenna. I love how you find a project and "Just Jump In". That is what i say when im sewing something new to me. You could make dog jackets. That would be great. People spend a lot of money on dog clothes. And because you love it makes it so much better. You inspire me. I now have an official Sewing area. So when i get an idea I could try it out quickly. Thank you for being your bubbly self and bringing joy to my life. You are awesome! 😎

This coat is so cute. It turned out great. I wanted to tell you that I've never used math to make buttons and button holes. Oh, maybe a little measuring, for example dividing the area eaqually for the button holes. First I make the button holes and then put the sides together, put the button on the other side, hold it there while sticking a needle through it and the button holes. Lines it up perfectly. Hope that made sense. I love how daring you are to try new things. Thanks for taking us along.

Girl, idk if anyone has mentioned it but a dog rain jacket made from a quilt is just asking for mold and mildew to grow on it. Quilts are typically 100% cotton with 100% cotton batting. If he wears the coat and it rains, please lay it out to air dry and wash it immediately.
