Got mine a month ago. I'm a first time EV owner and am very satisfied realizing the various quirks and downsides. The lease hooked me. It is incredible to drive. Acceleration is similar to my old 2019 WRX CVT !!.

I leased one for about $300 a month - $100 cheaper than the model Y and $200 less than the Mach E. I don’t want a Korean car or an American car either. It’s incredible to drive this car and it’s quick enough for me - like the fella said - it’s no problem passing anyone. The range is better than my previous Leaf so it’s good for me. I charge the Solterra every other night. I don’t think the Tesla would get me through 3 days on a single charge anyway. Overall, I’m really happy with the car - I see so many Teslas, it’s nice to be different even though the Tesla might be better for most.

I bought my 2023 Limited CPO and loving it so far. Mostly local driving so range and charging speed was not my main concern.

2024s have 7.6kwh onboard charger and 150kwh DCFC.

I don’t disagree with your assessment, however the Solterra is not marketed to potential/current EV drivers. It is meant for current Subie people. If you are a long time Forester or Outback driver, the Solterra makes sense.

That’s kinda my take away as well. It’s pretty obviously a bridge car. And that’s ok

Not bad but too expensive. You could buy a Forester and 5,000 gallons of gas.

It is kind of insane. Just gotta hop battery tech gets better and cheaper. That’s the big issue

I have had my 2023 Solterra for the past 16 months. I like the car BUT I hate the regenerative braking. Not aggressive enough. It's not even close to Tesla or Hyundai. Charging is slow and range is not great. The worse thing about this car is depreciation value. My car has dropped more than $20,000 in value just in one year. If I could do it over again, I would have gotten a Hyundai Ioniq 5 or the Tesla Y model. Probably the Hyundai because the warranty is better.

Even with the regen all the way up you feel that way? I appreciate the owner feedback! That’s helpful insight

@@MetzTech oh yes! The problem I have was … I was spoiled with Hyundai and Tesla before buying this. My brother and friends had one. I thought the regen would all be the same. Not even close. Max regen on the Solterra is S Pedal. It is their version of one foot driving. With Hyundai and Tesla you can literally drive the whole day without ever touching your brakes. Not true with Solterra. The two main reasons I wanted an electric car was to get rid of the engine and regen braking. I was not able to test drive the Solterra before buying because they were not in stock and my car was delivered specifically for me. After a year I tried to trade it in but losing $20,000 in value did not make it worth it so I decided to keep it. Tesla offered me $25,500 for my $50,000 car.

SMH on the price…absolutely nuts. Tesla again destroys this car. Appreciate the reviews as always 👍🏼

I think Subaru is really going to struggle with the whole EV thing until they push it to some of their big nameplates.
