    I see Ian McCollum was there too! Huge fan of Forgotten Weapons and InRangeTV for that matter. Though I don’t necessarily expect it because of the subject differences between the channels, any collaborations with Karl Kasarda or Ian McCollum would be really cool for fans of you all. Thank you for all the content and commitment, please stay safe.

    I really like content like this. I actually agree with Clint Smith that the shotgun is often unfairly maligned because people haven't been properly trained on one/expect it to be a rifle. They don't understand how it fills a different niche entirely. It's absolutely still a viable weapon for duty and defense oriented shooting. (On that note, Clint Smith is doing a shotgun course in Vegas come January 2021. It's $800 which is a great price for a course like that from someone that legendary.)

    Wow! Now that I know Ian McCollum and John Correia are both left eye dominant shooters I don't feel like it's a handicap to also do so. Despite being right handed, three of my sisters and I are left eye dominant for some reason, so we shoot left handed. It's kind of nice because I can carry a heavy gun in my strong arm.

    Just stumbled across this video. Very cool, and happy to see another lefty shooting. Will check out more of your content. I am curious though to hear your reasons for choosing an 870 over a 500/590. Last year a friend lent me his 870, and I hated the controls. I purchased a 590 this year specifically for the tang safety and love it.

    That's exactly what we teach in our classes :) Like any technique, it requires practice and training, but even after a morning of such, most people will see significant improvement in their recoil control. And once you can control recoil, everything else becomes possible.

  • @musicman1eanda

    Why does the push/pull method work for shotguns while it was rejected for handguns and isn't used for managing rifle recoil?

  • @matthaught4707

    @matthaught4707

    4 жыл бұрын

    I use it for managing rifle recoil all the time. Works like a charm for carbines, and is damn near mandatory if you want to shoot a lot of big-bore stuff. I used it hunting in Africa to great effect with my 9.3x62mm bolt gun, and I've used it in practice with rifles up to and including .600NE doubles. As for handguns, well, there isn't exactly room to grip in two distally separate locations and attempt to stretch the gun apart. I suppose if you wanted to form 1 a pistol into an AOW, mount a VFG on it, and shoot it with push pull, it would work to reduce recoil, but then again, it's a pistol and hanging all that off the gun kind of defeats the purpose of a concealable, holsterable weapon.

Something like earning a second-degree black belt and then starting over as a brand new white belt in another fighting art (bjj)? Something like working on the mat a couple of times a week for years? Maybe what is lacking here is your understanding of the situation and thinking that you "tell it like it is" when really you are just an ass. - skw
