The venom in Rick's voice toward Negan in this scene. It was glorious. I think this was probably the only *one* time that Negan was a little bit afraid of Rick.

The fact that you can see him trying to smile and make a line to say how dumb that is but he just can’t he continues to frown and weaken his mouth because Rick really did make him scared

That moment when Negan looks deep into Rick's eyes and realises, for the first time, he's met someone who is more dangerous and more badass than he is.

After watching the Ones Who Live. It's made me realize how vital to the show Rick is. Instantly felt like we were back to the glory days. And I think it's all because of Andrew Lincoln's amazing acting skills. He seriously has been robbed as an actor never winning major award for his portrayal as Rick.

The best part of this scene is the anger and fire you can see in both of the actors eyes

That fearlessness is pissing Negan off. Look at his face at the end.

It's explained better, Negan deals in theatrics to bring people in line. But theatrics can't bring Rick into line, he's a true believer. There is a moment of realization in this scene that Rick is just like him.

Everyone left standing just wanted him to suffer. Rick left him literally begging for death, relying on the grace of Rick's daughter just to get some semblance of life. Rick forced the man to bend, break and mend himself to Rick's wishes in the cruelest way because even ten years on he's still suffering. Rick 'punked out' of taking the easy option and just capping him, and everyone was better off for it

I think what made this scene so awesome is because Negan realized he couldn't break Rick. Negan broke Rick the last time by killing close friends. This time though it was his son and Rick accepted it he realized that the cost was out of his control. I actually think in that moment Rick let go of hope. I really think that's what being The Walking Dead was all about. When you held onto hope you would be paralyzed by fear of losing everything. But if you have no hope? What can anyone take from you?

They killed Carl to save Negan, worse decision ever! Rick told Negan he would kill him how many times? He Never did. All of sudden Rick couldn't shoot in S8. The guy shot 2 fingers off Gareth across a pitch black church but S8 couldn't hit Negan from 10 feet away. The Bad writing began in S7 and Negan/ JDM killed the show, I just couldn't stand watching the guy. I love a good villain, I loved the Governor but JDM... ugh. Just annoying IMO. After Andy left it picked up speed in going down hill. I am just stating facts here. I love the series, I've watched it since it aired in 2010. I met the cast and watched the show faithfully for 9+ years. I own all of the seasons on DVD but We all know come S7 it started showing signs of sinking. S8 the writing was horrendous. Swiss cheese writing with plot holes, slow mo scenes and characters acting out of character and poor choices in the writers room. I can't wait to see Rick/ Michonne spinoff tho.

@@mr.doctorcaptain1124 I made it until Andy left, S9 episode 5 but it was a struggle. S2 was a crazy season, That's when they fired Frank Darabont and put in Glenn Mazzara. In between those writers they kept the group running around on the farm lol but going back and re watching it S2 had some pretty good episodes. 18 miles out Nebraska showed us Rick was a badass and would do anything to protect the farm and family and woke Hershel up to that fact. Things changed after Nebraska. "Pretty Much Dead Already" where Sophia died was a good episode as well and "Better Angles" When Rick killed Shane was a good one. S3 had a few that shined through. "Clear" and "The Killer Within" when Lori Died. "Home" was a good one also. S4 had "Claimed" and "The Grove" "A" was good too. S5 was good and saw its peak in the premier with "No Sanctuary" and "4 walls and a Roof" where Rick kills Gareth but we certainly could have gone without those Beth in the Hospital episodes. Ugh. Filler waste of time BS. Why? Right? "Them" was amazing when they were out on the road was a great episode. S6 was good, few slow ones here and there but The best was "No Way Out" fighting the herd in Alexandria and "The Next World" where they Meet Jesus was a fun episode. After the Negan BS started it plummeted fast.

And the responding question, since there's no hope... You think, "What can I TAKE from Them?" Turns the game from Defense to Offense. Things happen in an offensive, but it's about ensuring they are hurt more than you are... And since you have nothing to lose... "Tell them I'm coming, and Hell is coming with me."

I love this loop for really illustrating the change in Neegan's face from this. You can tell that Neegan believes Rick and hates him for it. Rick, the one man Neegan can't brake. And when you think about it, Neegan, the Governor, Alpha... they all have the same soul as Rick, except Rick made that fundamental deep choice that life, and everyone who has it, matters. That choice being challenged over and over and seeing Rick carry the burden is always what made the show for me.

This was the moment Negan realized he had lost the Mental warfare.. that’s why he looks so ticked off because he thought that he had fully broken Rick by this point but Rick realized there was no worse punishment than giving into the saviors

Some of the best acting in the show came from these 2 right here!

Old Negans issue was his ego. He had broken down all other leaders so he looked at Rick as the final boss but he didn’t know the game was being played by Rick

I think Rick’s speech here was the turning point in the war. Negan’s biggest mistake was letting Rick live, Negan was good when he had an army, but without it, he’s just a funny, depressed, and underweight gym teacher. I fully believe that before the end of twdu, there will be a feud between the two of them, and that’ll be where we finally lose Negan.

Never leave a man with nothing because then all he has left to lose is fear,

Rick actually killed Negan‘s soul by locking him in that cell which he couldn’t handle. That’s why he begged Maggie to kill him. He was a tyrant that was always in control and all of a sudden he lost all of that.

I love the part where Negan says “Shane would be disappointed in you”. Amazing acting from both JDM and Andrew.

A part of me really thinks Negan was never gonna kill Carl he just wanted a reaction out of Rick to make him Surrender wich failed and you can see on Negans face it pissed him off

I’ve noticed that whenever Rick knew he or somebody he loved was about to die, (cannibals and this moment) he said fuck it and used a threat as his last words

He never did kill Negan, Carl died from a zombie bite, and Rick has gone missing. Now everybody loves Negan.

Rick changed Negan, once again. Rick's ending is everyone else's beginning.

You can see Negan getting really pissed here,cause it's the first time someone stand up against him,he only had a illusion that he completely maniputated and intimidated Rick.

Well this was Negans flaw…He wasn’t as crazy or ruthless as The Governor so it sowed so much rebellion when you meet people who who will stand up, it doesn’t even matter how much fear you try to bring to people.

Noticed when Rick says "Your all already dead", he tells Negan in the same tone Negan was talking to him about killing Carl

Negan forgot the Golden rule Better to be feared than to be loved, but never be hated.

It was at this moment, he knew he fcked up.

This response was actually the best way of “possibly” saving Carl given the current circumstances… Rick is essentially saying that he can’t be controlled by fear to Negan’s tyrannical rule. Telling him that he’ll still try to fight and kill him completely undermines why Negan feels it’s necessary to kill Carl in front of Rick. And it’s in Ricks best interest to get Negan so mad that he just wants to kill Rick quickly at that point.. All the while hoping that Negan might keep Carl around IF he thinks he could sway Carl to his side down the line.

The psychological warfare going on between these two was insane

His mistake was thinking that he, himself could ruin Rick. See, Rick was already a dead man and he knew it. Rick at this point was already mentally alone and wanted nothing but to kill.

This is Rick at his most savage, staring down Negan and telling your going to die .Rick is a freaking beast . Ssn 4 he ripped a guy’s throat out with his teeth who was going to rape Carl , he went half crazy at the prison after he lost his wife Lori . Taking on walkers after they killed his love interest at during them breaching Alexandria.The man is truly a savage and a beast.

You can see Negan actually get angry. He thrived on people’s fear. And in this moment. Rick had none.

What makes Rick a great character is how so many people underestimate him at first and Negan even saw here that this isn't a normal guy.
