cool product but makes you think "why?" ahaha. don't fix what ain't broke.
@joeyw4531
29 күн бұрын
@@kaylum983 There's several reasons "why". If you try to use power with freeweights or weight stacks, you''ll exert force the first portion off the rep and make the weights fly up the rest of the way. With air pressure there is no momentum, so you'll have to apply force through the entire range of motion. Then there's also the ease of adjusting weights, which makes it possible to instantly transition between resistances between reps.
Great vid man, wanted to shout out to Kieser, I've been using them and installing them in my gym's for 20 years and honestly wish more gyms would use them; particularly their functional trainers and squat racks. Stri 6 has some older models but the newer ones track force, velocity and much more; they're expensive though and maintaining old air compressors can be a pain, lots of down time...
I go to a privately owned gym and the equipment definitely has alot of love lol. Theres no real heat or ventilation but they do have an industrial fan as well as few others scattered around and if desired you can open the garage door for natural light and fresh air. I enjoy the freedom of being (mostly) alone to do my thing and the condition doesn't bother me so long as its still usable.

Agree. Time of day is so different. I use my local YMCA at 5am, and it’s a really great vibe. Usually the exact same group of people getting it done in the gym, friendly and supportive. Nice community vibe. If I accidentally go in the afternoon when schools out, it’s a bunch of fuckboy highscoolers being fuckboy high schoolers, which is annoying at best. And you get all the aggressive basketball games going on, all yelling at eachother and sometimes fights breaking out. It’s a totally different scene to say the least. And lock your shit up in the afternoon. That’s when your stuff gets stolen. Early AM is no risk for theft

Or maybe the staff had a bad day when that lady made the review. Or maybe they are more likely to be nice to him because he is jacked and not so many gym goers look or are super strong... Yeah, I think it's good to keep in mind, a lot of places, their business is going to go through rough times, and hopefully get better (for the owner and community's sake). Best practice in reviews is to be concise, be honest, share the good, share the issues. Finally hope that, if it's bad that your review is going to become outdated in the near future. If it's good, hope it doesn't. (the dating of reviews is what makes me uncomfortable reviewing at all some times, but the good of information sharing supersedes that for me. Loved the video! Good stuff.
I can tell you as a gym employee/trainer for a few years, gym staff is probably the most fluctuating quality at a gym. You get rude/uncaring/unattentive teenagers or blowhards. I'd always be sure to be out by 5pm, or get there after 7pm cos that's when the douches show up. But if I was there at the Douching Hour, at least it was entertaining.

@@BigJonB36 Sadly dude, that's not even far from something you might overhear. Or you're trying to get checked in and you have to repeat yourself 5 times to them while they stare at their phone before they actually pick their head up, "huh? What's up dude? uhhh?" Or worse case scenario, you've got weird membership issues and because you come in to workout at 6pm, and sales leaves at 5pm, you literally never encounter someone who can help you. Then you come in next week and get told your membership is innactive and you're charged a fee for missing a membership payment. (things that happen surprisingly often)

One of the things I love about this country (USA) is the variety of gyms… it is literally small business ownership that allows that variety. My gym back in the day had those, in the 90's. They're actually pretty good machines. Made by Kaiser.
Hey Will, I think it is unfair to discount the 1 star reviews when chances are we will never know if the issues were fixed before you got there and also considering that you may get noticed and treated better than the average gym goers
The underground gym felt like watching a mystery gym video game, it even had like loading screen tips 🔥🔥🔥
for the record, just because someone isn't harassing you, doesn't mean they haven't harassed anyone else

You tripping on that scooter was hilarious!😅
I am sad that you didnt catch the graveler sticker on the locker during the locker room review :( I got to that hone all the time. You actually should have looked up at the light fixtures on the main floor. bug city....
Initially I was put off by Striation's backrooms-esque entrance but boy did the place grow on me the more I watched. There's a very cool, friendly ambience and the machines seem really awesome. I'd like to see more of those everywhere. I low-key loved that moody black room.
this gave me a good laugh, i saw a bunch of negative reviews for the powerhouse i go to, went to a tour and looks like they fixed everything they complained about in the reviews ✨
These 1-star gyms look like the 5-star ones I have in my city lol
The noise you heard at the preacher machine (at hone fitness) is the weight plates sticking together because they are oiled and then gravity overcoming the sticky force and the plate falls down creating the metal to metal noise. I hear this a lot at my gym which is full of matrix machines (like that preacher there).
These reviews might have been true once, but if you get a lot of 1 star reviews you are bound to do something about it.
I hope this becomes a series, a lot of us don't get to explore new gyms like this and tackling it through the perspective of a 1 star review is very neat
the air pressure machines are actually sick imagine doing a dropset with them it's so easy or doing a rep and then loading up the eccentrics after you hit the top for maximum gains
22:40 the ears... respect
10:28 that translation had me weak lmao
Will I wanted just to say thank you ( I know this isn't one of those vids but whatever). You helped me start to get better and get my life back. I was beyond morbidly obese if there is a category above it or below it I don't know. I spent more years than I care to admit having just given up on everything. I can't remember how I came across you but am so glad I did you helped me more than you can imagine with your delivery and light hearted approach yet serious and instructive. It has been around 8 months now since started training tbh only had 4 good months, I was hardly able to walk and doc told me all bad things. I am now about 90kg (198lb) down I am still about as strong as a toddler but I can do things I thought were impossible to my old self now. I have a tomorrow now and am trying to make it better and you have been a big inspiration to me. From the bottom of my heart THANK YOU! You were a big part in saving my life. Much love
I wonder what my gym is. I have not seen any torn stuff yet, the locker rooms are just fine. They got some old scales like we used to use on the farm for weighing sunflower seeds. The people who work at the front desk have a list of machines that they clean off everyday when the next shift comes in. The only thing wrong with my gym is one of the saunas has been screwed up since I started using the gym a year ago but I've only seen one person ever in the sauna.
You should do more videos like this!
The gym I go to in Ottawa also has those air pressure/pneumatic machines, absolute game changer for drop sets

Bro thank you so much for THE OFFICE outro! Best video i have seen in a very long time
Been binge watching your videos for the last week. Usually the ones from a few years ago. You’ve been keeping me motivated. It’s currently 1245 am here in Australia, didn’t feel like going to gym but am going when this vid finishes. Yeah, I know it’s late/ early but I’m a shift worker with a really stuffed up sleep schedule and if I don’t go now I won’t be able to get my 15000 steps in for today ( Good Friday).
My old gym had a pneumatics room. It was awesome! A whole different level of resistance.
Using the green screen from the underground gym was genius, bravo

I've been in customer service roles my whole life, including the community and events manager of a 5-star gym (I'm talking 1000's a year, cryotherapy, 1on1 nutritionists, the janitor was told to memorize new member names by photo before their first day. My civic looked so out of place in that parking lot lmao). Some people just live to complain tbh, especially the higher up you go in terms of net-value clients. The 2/3 star reviews are where its at, those people are honest
I think adding the date next to the review would be helpful
thanks for the content really enjoyed this gave you a sub
