I ran across a bug at one point that let me load a guard from New Babbage onto my ship and he stayed in the cargo area while I flew around. I was hoping someone would have tried to steal my ship just to see their reaction to the NB guard.

@@qwaaq I also got curious about that and googled, according to a reddit comment, sounds kinda boring but fair I guess: "you lose that specific hull to the pirate but they can’t really do anything to it yet, apart from flying around you can get it back for free or pay a little in game fee to speed up the process they keep it until they leave the game, ship will be marked as stolen though so they will have a hard time landing it anywhere."

@@raphaelG_ Ah, so that's why he only asked for 500k. It's a shame there's nothing you can do to remove the stolen flag. I assume the pirate can offload any cargo though... so, that could still be a nice score. What if the pirate gets the ship destroyed? Do the owners just get it replaced on the insurance?

HODS made a previous video where he stole a Hercules with cargo in it and got 6.9 mil auec so pirating can be quite profitable

I haven't played in a while but the ship doesn't get replaced I believe. But the fee to spawn the ship in again isn't even that much, that's only if you want to speed up the process which can be up to 50k auec for the largest ships I believe

There needs to be an illegal shipyard where you can sell off stolen ships for scrap. I'd love to boost ships and drop them at a shipbreaking yard for some cash. Kind of like a chop-shop.

this would kill the game tbh. it can take hours-days even weeks for most players who dont have all day to sit and farm the game. Id be pissed if someone stole my hammer head, only to find out they turned it to scrap for money. Or even worse my starlifter, even though its cheaper its still a funny thing to have. I have 3 of them, but man if someone took that thing and sold it for scrap id be pissed.

@@Life-mo5mw That wouldn't kill the game though. That's why you have insurance. You can always get your ship replaced once you've registered it as "yours". However, if I drop it off at a chop shop I can get scrap cash for it. It's already registered to you so I can't keep it for my own. It means a small amount of trouble for you (going to a console and hitting the claim button), and a little extra cash for me. It makes for a valid gameplay loop for pirates. And you didn't really lose any hard work. Keep in mind, killing you and taking your ship isn't the only reason I would be selling off your ship. If you went on a bunker mission and got killed by NPC's your ship is sitting there taking up space. Let me profit off of that valid gameplay loop by braving the turrets to salvage your ship. A ship that you've already put out an insurance claim on anyway.

@@corelockout6293 there’s a reason a lot of games don’t have chop shops in their games. It’ll either be extremely broken and infinite money. Or. It’ll be extremely shit, not worth and people with the expensive items just simply won’t use them or will simply never leave them. It sounds cool but multiplayer games with some sort of multiplayer economy chop shops simply just don’t work. For example. Arma 3 life, chop shop has been tried left and right on those rp servers. But the pay out wasn’t worth the time or the risk, and on top of that, it took away hours of work of some of the players which to the thief is no issue. But again, the payouts just simply weren’t worth it. On top of that, if you steal ships, you’d now have to worry about campers at said chop shops, and bounty hunter players or even pissing off a massive clan who will just constantly be tracking you down ruining your experience playing the game because you stole his starter Mustang Ship. Some of the issues are fun like fighting off the group chasing you for stealing said ships. But the pay out more than likely won’t be worth it for the time it takes to plan out a heist of someone ship

But in the sense of getting the ship back from insurance so stealing it won’t matter is how it would break the game worse than originally stated. If it does get added like I said, it’ll either be broken cause unlimited money or. It’ll be the most boring way of making money cause the payout will be pretty garbage for the time spent getting the ship

there shouldnt be a crime stat anyway if theres no way for the authorities to know about the crime technically speaking. game really needs a system for that, like a beacon that marks your crimes and you can "hack it"to turn that system off but if you get scanned and its off then they fine or pursue you

Murder is hard when both your equipment and the victim's track everything. Maybe they should do something like you can jam the communication temporarily so a crime in that window doesn't count.

8 months later they've actually added this exact thing right? You can now disable the Comms Links in certain areas to remove your CrimeStat or be detected by Bounty Hunters and things

Would be like to have extra pay so Low / Medium and High Crime Stat Happens on the Current ship if stolen depending on the Size and Items / Gear currently in the Ship so if Players dont pay extra there is no Crime Stat unless Local Authority Notices it but these are Low Priority

Bruh those are literally Pro Atlas players and I have fought Boaty McBoatface and lost a boat to him in Atlas before. Also most of the time the 123 as player names or in the name, is call sign/steam name for Atlas and Ark players to remain semi anonymous when logging in and out of servers/grids. But I'm sure you already knew that. xD. Love this series and keep em coming sir! Steal more ships ! try taking a hostage or something make a group have to pay ransom for their ship and or crewmate! You can do soooooo much with this series I am stoked to see what you will do next. (chewing fingernails)

It's fun when it actually works, but with 3.23 coming out it seems the game will finally function properly again

this whole time he is asking if the guy had a respawn on the ship or if anyone was even on the ship. if you look left it tells you how many people are nearby. it went from 3 to 2 cuz only the ship owner was on the med bay. so he was just going to spawn there everytime. HOWEVER im only half way through the vid as of typing this so idk if he figures it out. maybe i should finish b4 typing but im this far already xD

Hi, I don't know how the economy work in this game but from my understanding generally speaking, people buy they ships with real money. So could anyone tell me what actually happens when you steal it or it gets destroyed? Does your ship respawn somewhere or is it literally stolen and you lost real money?

If you steal someones ship, can you keep it ? or is it somehow bound to the original purchaser ?

You can buy insurance so if you lose your ship you will get a copy of it though without its upgrades or cargo

I feel like getting in and out of the pilot seat while in qt takes more cahones than stealing the ship. Lol

i have seen some people do this and drop the body's out in space . i saw crew of 12 steal the ships and then hold them for Ransom .

i bought this thinking yeah, im going to be a space pirate...it's been 5 days and i've gotten stuck in my own ship 3 times, starved once because the game wouldn't let me eat and have to drop and pick up my helmet to take it.

I hope ship stilling is really going to be a gameplay loop later

You could have looked at the prox comms count on the side of the screen to tell if there was anyone else in the ship.

Uhm, whats stopping them from just filing a insurance claim after you stole the ship to get it back? Why would they pay you for getting it back? (plus can't they just disconnect?)

Can't you just go and recall your ship? Or can you only do that if it has crashed?

I haven't got to the ending yet. But I'd handle this alot different then the actual owner of the ship. I set the meeting place somewhere away from any armistice zones and bring my harbinger and blow my other ship up and kill the one lowly player that's in it.

It was an RP set up at the beginning, but he put the crate one because it makes a marker on your hud so you can find it again if you lose it
