@@weizhang2834 The OP was just referring to the architecture. There are many beautiful things in Europe too, whatever the political systems or history. Though China had suffered tremendously from western countries, she has preserved the buildings and history from those times and from even older times back to ancient times. Thus making China a place where history is alive and present in part of the land.

We went out at 7.00 and took an underground, to an area called Chuhehanjie, which was much busier place. We descended some steps into a pedestrian precinct, containing loads of designer shops, Gucci, Armani, Uni Qlo, Zara and Gap etc, but as we were getting hungry, we found a nice old fashioned restaurant, very elegant with high ceilings and I had a dish of veal cooked in black bean sauce and Ling had some fish, plus we had rice and fried lotus roots and a bottle of local beer, costing a total of 129 yuan. Next stop was to visit Yellow Crane Tower, on the other side of the city, after catching a 14 bus for some distance and then had to walk up up 80 steps to the pagoda shaped monument. This morning, we had to walk up about 50 steps in the underground, at Jianghan Road while an escalator was bringing people down. We got into the Yellow Crane park for 40 yuan, which was a free ticket for me and half price for Ling, so usual price would have been 80 yuan each. Not much to do, except take photos and enjoy the view, from the highest point overlooking the city. We weren’t going to go up to the top of the pagoda, but found there was a lift for the use of people over 70, so we went up on that after I showed my passport. After leaving this place, we made our way across some bridges over the road, to a food street, called something like Huban Street. A busy crowded street, with fast food outlets all along. We turned into another street about halfway along and Ling said this was the main eating area. There were loads of places selling food outside, but I was looking for a place where we could eat sitting down and finally went into a noodle bar, where we were the only customers for about 20 minutes. I had a bowl of beef noodles, which was OK and Ling had Beef noodle soup and we both had a carton of cold rice wine, which was quite refreshing, all for 32 yuan. At the end of this street, we came to a main road and Ling worked out on her mobile that we had to catch a number 14 bus to the museum which we soon found. It was only 2 yuan and lasted about 25 minutes, to take us to an impressive building, which is one of China’s major museums, although in my opinion didn’t seem to have many exhibits and lots of marble halls and empty spaces. Unfortunately, at the security check, my 2 fruit knives were confiscated, much to Ling’s annoyance-with me, for carrying them both, although this was the first timeI’d been stopped. When I got them back on leaving I was also stopped at the security screen in the underground.

Great video. Nice to see the "out of the way places" in China that few of the other travel vloggers visit. How was the cost of living while visiting Wuhan? From a Westerners perspective. It would be great to see a video on The Grand Canal and The Great Wall also.

I recommend Jianghan Road - one of the most renownend pedestrian streets in China, which is also very large and full of surprising little alleyways to discover. Another place would be the Wuhan University, one of the most beautiful universities in whole China.

The Chinese are practical, frugal, ... for many, the older generation especially, it's less about outer appearance. I love this at 04:56 - that was my highlight, different strokes for different folks. 💡

Yes. That “it’s less about the outer appearance” is something that was a big cultural shock in the beginning, but know it’s something I admire more and more about Chinese culture! I’ve learned so much from China

@@RafaGoesAround There is another thing people fail to understand or Chinese fail to explain... the spitting - it stems from the belief that phlegm is full of bacteria. I looked it up and found this quote, "Phlegm is a thick secretion in the airway during disease and inflammation. Phlegm usually contains mucus with virus, bacteria, other debris, and sloughed-off inflammatory cells. Once phlegm has been expectorated by a cough, it becomes sputum." Therefore coughing it out makes sense, unfortunately, paper tissue in the past was a luxury and hence the seniors will do what they have to do, it's either this stays in me or out of me, and I would rather have it out of me, Unfortunately, this can come at the expense of others. What I am getting at, there is a 'reason' for wanting to get phlegm out of you. If people dig deeper into something they don't understand, you'll find the answer as to why. 💡 🔍

I preferred Kunming as I was there in the middle of summer when Shanghai is very hot, and muggy. Kunming sits further south and at around 5000 ft and they describe their weather as perpetual Spring. After shanghai, it was wonderful. The city itself is about the size of Chicago and there is a nice lake. From there we went north to Dali and Lijiang. Wonderful trip!

I stayed a day in Wuhan in 2013 at the start of the Yangtze River Cruise that finished in Chongqing. The ancient Yellow Crane Tower looked awesome but the “new” buildings that I saw were nothing special. Wuhan is totally different from 10 years ago. It’s such a beautiful modern city now! Thanks for the video.

Wuhan is my least favourite city in china. It is the city where fentanyl is produced and kills thousands every year. The spineless politicians do nothing and even encourage the fentanyl chemists to carry on producing the drug. While on the outside wuhan may look lovely, the real city is horrible.
