I SOLVED ELEGOO NEPTUNE 4 PRO BUILD PLATE ADHESION ISSUES | 3D Prints now adhere reliably! No Glue!

Ғылым және технология

In this video, I show 2 ways to improve the 3D printed part adhesion to the Elegoo Neptune 4 Pro 3D Printer build plate. This guide is specifically for successfully bonding the initial layers of PLA or PLA PLUS (PLA+) filaments to the build plate.
Solution #1 is to apply the included glue to the build plate. Although this works, I hate it because then glue has to be cleaned off the base of the 3D print model.

▶ CREALITY Build Plate - amzn.to/3uREupw
Solution #2 is to buy and use the CREALITY SMOOTH build plate instead of the stock Elegoo Neptune 4 textured build plate. The Creality smooth build plate is exactly the same size and a perfect fit. PLA and PLA+ adhere very well to the smooth surface without the need for glue. The parts pop off afterward by flexing the plate and no cleanup is necessary. The build plate needs to be wiped with alcohol before every use to make sure that it is clean.

▶ ELEGOO NEPTUNE 4 PRO Printer - amzn.to/49K1QNv

The Creality build plate continues to perform flawlessly, and I haven't had any build adhesion failures.

This CREALITY smooth build plate has excellent adhesion for PLA and PLA PLUS. Buy it on Amazon amzn.to/3uREupw

I was having the same problems on my Neptune 4 with poor first layer adhesion. I flipped the Elegoo textured plate to the smooth side and it fixed the problem immediately. Perfect first layer adhesion.

Interesting. The textured plate that came with mine is uncoated on the back. It's just steel. I tried this and it didn't adhere.

Weird. I finished a print last night that covered most of the build plate in surface area. I did have my z offset a little closer than I normally would and the plate 10c hotter than I normally would.

Thanks for this video i Bought the Build plate yesterday after watching this and its just arrived and works perfectly!!!, I used the glue stick on the original Plate and managed to get it to print but it was a nightmare to get the prints off

    using a dishwasher soap instead of alcohol works like a charm for me on the Elegoo PEI sheet ;

I will try that. Another issue I've noticed with this Neptune 4 Pro is that the initial layer height inconsistent. Sometimes it's perfect, other times it is too low or too high. The non-touch sensor seems to be inaccurate.

I switched from glue stick to non scented cheap hairspray on the original build plated and it has worked fantastic i mean worlds difference mainlybi think because the glue stick leaves microscopic dips and valleys on the byild plate that can cause layer adhesion and shifting issues but the super fine spray of hairspray makes the print stick withought rhe uneven surface of the glue. Ive found myself just running a quick calibration before each print without adjusting the bed level and its been printing like a champ!

Thanks for the tip. I know hairspray used to be the product of choice for glass. Does it leave any residue? Calibration (Z homing) before each print is essential. Pre heating for about 20 minutes before doing bed leveling or Z-homing also helps, because the build plate takes a long time to settle when heated.

I have bought the creality plate… now I have the opposite problem…. Can’t take the bloody print off easily! Thank you though for showing us a solution,

😂 you might need to use glue stick to be able to take it off 😀. What material? I've only had too strong adhesion with TPU. Had to buy a separate build plate to use for TPU that I keep covered with glue stick.

Instead of buying a new PEI sheet, I flipped the Elegoo one over to the smooth side 😉 works perfectly

Does it adhere better than the textured side? I didn't try that because I assumed that it was due to the quality of the "PEI" material they were using. They usually use the texture for better adhesion.

hoping this solves my problem, had adhesion problems and they seemed solved and now continuous blobbing problems. Any particular settings for the purge line to move, cause of the plate's different shape?

Haven't needed to shift the purge line. The new plate was basically identical.

Yes, it continues to work better than the original. The Neptune 4 Pro has Z home and bed leveling issues though.

@@timmyd463229 The main issue is that the bed takes a long time to stabilize when heated, about 20 min. There's nothing in the calibration or print startup that takes that into account by default. So, warm up the bed and nozzle to print temps and let it stabilize for 20 min before doing any calibration, bed matrix, or Z homing, then that gives better results. Get an enclosure. Look at my other video about bed warping mod.

looks like your z-offset just needed to be lowered tbh.
