The fact that Sidgwick said last week that he cant wait to bury the Wyatt 6 leads me to believe he isn’t acting in good faith. And definitely not when he talks about Seth

It would look that way, but Sidge has repeatedly said he is anti supernatural wrestling stuff across the board cause to him it fundamentally never works and that's before his thoughts on the bell to bell work of certain members comes into play. Last week was him respecting the content of Bo's segment even tho he knows the Wyatt stuff likely won't get over with him going forward.

Sidge just loves to dig down to an atomic level to find a reason to hate the product. And then will just give AEW a pass on pretty much everything. Oh you don’t think the Wyatt’s are scary? Oohh big brave boy you are. Guess what, kids do! If I was 12 I’d be absolutely loving this stuff and 20 years down the line there would be huge nostalgia for it.

Mere moments into every fed review Sidge can’t help but insult viewers for enjoying it. Pretentious, smug, obnoxious. Can’t let the other two speak at the same lengths he asserts for himself. Groans and talks down to them for enjoying the show. Utter charisma vacuum.

Suspension of disbelief requires the rules of the universe to be consistent and understandable in context. Who is putting out all those smoke machines for the Wyatt 6? Are the members doing it? Are they getting WWE to do it? If so, why would WWE help when the security guards keep getting beaten up?

Yesterday’s smackdown and forbidden door reviews were both excellent. Sidge was great on forbidden door and he wasn’t on the smackdown review. Why is he back on the raw review? Why would anybody be hosting a review show of a product they fundamentally hate and openly admit is not for them (which is totally fine)? Would love for y’all to honestly address this.

Sidge barely can admit that it's not made for him but it's going to go over for other fans. Then talks down on those fans. He's said it before, he's a hater. And lately it's not just about WWE. I don't think Hamflett is on the wrong side of history. I think the Wyatts represents an experience. Not really prowrestling, but you could argue there is a lot of "non-prowrestling" in prowrestling still. Regardless think of the psychology of why something like a haunted house works. Some folks see through everything and find it fun, some legit find it scary even though they know they won't be hurt, kids are likely terrified, etc. It's like a haunted house meets a movie maybe. And on top of that Bray, Bo, the legacy and connection to fans...it makes sense doesn't it?

Maybe I can help. I watch horror movies daily, I haven't been scared by one in decades. I don't watch Friday The 13th movies because I'm scared of Jason, to me, Jason is the hero, Jason is Captain America. Michael Myers isn't scary to me, he's Iron Man in my horror cinematic universe. Freddy is Thor, Pinhead is Dr. Strange, Pumpkinhead is Ant-Man.

Could the vid of Bo/Howdy be a supernatural thing but actually created by the character for creepy effect? I mean, Bo's character could be so far gone that he knowingly - or unknowingly perhaps - creates these videos, playing both parts as he suffers from schizophrenia. I think it's possibly unfair to suggest that every creepy segment or lights off moment is supernatural, when the latter part of Taker's career all the stuff was billed as mind games. Horror stuff gets into people's heads.

Hey Professor Elite, was it ridiculous when Smeagle was arguing with Gollum in Lord of The Rings? They were both the same character yet we could see each of them when they spoke, there are plenty of good examples of characters with split personalities talking to themselves while we the viewers are able to see them both until the conversation is done, then the camera zooms out or refocuses and you see it was just the one character the whole time.... Fight Club, that entire movie was this, are you going to tell me you didn't enjoy Fight Club? Or that fight club reminded you of Hogan seeing Warrior in the mirror at WCW? For once this is something I feel you're being a bit too eager to complain about due to the ingrained distain for early 90's WWF\late WCW content. 🤷‍♂️

@@judshuttie70 again, I hear you. But you're being disingenuous now imo. Sidgewick criticises the Bucks as authority figures, and a threat is different from being intimidating. With regards to Ospreay, it's your prerogative if you think he's on steroids. Personally, I don't think anyone would get away with that in this day in age. But comparing Sidgewick's love of Ospreay to his dislike of Dexter is like apples to pears if we're focusing on Sidgewick's criticism of Lumis being intimidating. Sidgewick doesn't think Ospreay is intimidating; he thinks he's skilled in the ring; something he thinks Dexter isn't. The only time I've enjoyed Dexter as a character is in comedic moments; not his wrestling. So I'm with Sidgewick on that. But, aesthetic wise, I'm intrigued about this character and the lore to do with the Wyatt Sicks.

There was the missing link who was just basically some dude with green face paint and the evil manager dude used him as a weapon to try to take out the good guys. He was listed from parts unknownand he just came into the ring and just beat the living shit out of you. That was scary. They didn’t have spooky lights or anything like that.

That is scary and I no point in time do they say that oh she’s a zombie no they just call her the undead girl because that’s what she calls herself cause she’s a psychopath, that’s scary wrestling

In other terms, he is so emotionally distraught that he created this persona to focus his rage and anger. At least that’s what I think they want to go with this. It’s just like the whole idea of face and the screen franchise. It’s not an unstoppable killer. It’s just some psycho guy who thinks that he can get away with killing people by using a persona

I think I understand where Havlat is trying to go, and Sedgwick is also right on his point as well as far as reality versus what they’re trying to do with the WyattS. The only thing I can come up with right now off the top of my head is Lucha underground. The world that they created for that show was specifically saying this is not the real world and we’re trying to convince you that spooky things are happening in the real world, what they did was they created this weird world and wrestling happens to be in it. It’s just like the old Mexican wrestling movies where they had spooky supernatural stuff happening and the wrestlers had to fight vampires and zombies. To us it’s ridiculous but in the world of the movie it’s real and it’s supposed to be jump scare scary. The problem with doing that with WWE is once you start down the road you cannot break the reality and unfortunately, there’s too many factors involved for them to actually really get away with it.

The others can suffer loses and still be "creepy" and worthy of attention. Howdy/Bo sends his followers to do his dirty work, sometimes they will succeed other times the babyface will triumph. In the end the will still look "cool" and Howdy/Bo will be able to keep some/most of his aura

Really it all really comes back down to what I had said earlier in the comments. The scary monster part of wrestling only works when they exist outside the normal existence of wrestling. What I mean by that is it’s a character that’s there for the purpose of only to beat the crap out of the baby face, because they are literally monster who is there to do that they’re not there to win belts there to create deep storylines. They are there as a weapon to use against a baby face and a story. Yet another perfect example Kamala. His whole purpose was to come in and beat the Everling crap out of the baby face because the evil manager dude is trying to get over on the baby face that’s it. Bray was trying to create something different and fun for the audience, and it would’ve worked if they did not have him involved with title stuff that’s where things go wrong. If you have an unstoppable killing machine, you have a B and unstoppable, killing machine and a story.

The biggest problem with characters like the Wyatt when it comes to being in the arena is that they’re trying to build scary tension and that is really a mood killer. The only way that you can really work with the Wyatt six to scare someone is that they come out of nowhere when you least expect it to scare the crap out of you. That’s why on television seeing it on television doesn’t work. It only really works when you’re in the arena and you’re into it but as a medium, it doesn’t.
