    Thank you so so much for this video. God is amazing! Thank you Jesus! 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾 I am currently a BSN nurse of 23 years and just started the DNP program in adult gerontology . Im not sure on which direction to go when I complete the program but I definitely will follow Gods provision for me (most of my career I’ve worked in long term care and med surg). I want to thank you for 1st your representation of black women and more importantly your anointing. God will do amazing things in your life.

    Please avoid the “diploma mill” schools if you can and choose a brick & mortar institution. Ultimately, your education will be more affordable if you go that route, and yes, the reputation of the diploma mill schools is becoming an issue. I’ve literally been in spaces where I’ve heard NPs and physicians discussing a prospective new hire NP who went to a school like Walden and were questioning the validity of their education and experience.

I have been looking at and praying what would be my next step as far as what school to transfer too . I notice you said some people will not accept you depending on what school you go to . I’m between Kent state and Florida A&M . Have you heard anything about these programs? Also my number one pick was TWU In dallas, Texas because I live in Texas but their WHNP is not accepting applicants the earliest is summer 2024 due to trying to graduate current students and go to online programs. Just wanted some advice on what which way I should go

    So if you’re a FNP, you can work in all of the specialties that you named? Or if you get a specific specialty, you can only get jobs in that specialty?

  • @ashley_audacious

    @ashley_audacious

    4 ай бұрын

    I do believe that FNPs have limitations. to my knowledge FNPs who want to work in the ICU , should be adult gero acute care nurse practitioners. FNPs can’t be neonatal nurse practitioners even though they can care for patients across the lifespan. so if you know that you want to work with a specific population for the rest of your life, I would recommend that you become a nurse practitioner within that specialty. FNPs can switch between different outpatient specialties. I don’t think FNPs can get jobs in psych if you become a nurse practitioner in a specific specialty, then yes you are limited to that specialty . For example, women’s health nurse practitioners can not work in a setting that provides care to newborns

    That's simply not supported by the data. There are zero studies showing that NPs are capable of making diagnoses as well as doctors. And there are many studies showing they do NOT increase access to care and end up costing patients more individually. Corporations want you to see NPs because they can pay them less than doctors. Studies show they order more unnecessary drugs, unnecessary tests and referrals to specialists. @@ashley_audacious
