    George - my parents had one of those high chair tables. Theirs was made in the 50’s and was called a “Baby Tenda”. The overall look was different than the one in the video (less “curvy” seat, and coloring was pastels rather than bright red). The seat did fold up, bit there was a separate piece that dropped into the chair space to make the top into a solid table. The legs were adjustable in height and were foldable as well. I remember my Mom feeding my baby sister in it (circa late ‘50s), then after we girls got older, it was used as an arts and crafts table. Great memories!

    01:33 Its Bohemian painted glass from about 1890-1900. It was made to look like Thomas Webb Cameo glass from England but the Webb its etched into the glass, the Bohemian is painted on the top. 03:28 Spot on with the date. The Apostle set is by Charles Meigh C1842, most of the other similar style jugs you see are by William Brownfield C1840-1870

    Agreed about the Bohemian piece, just wish I could ascertain the maker! I appreciate the maker information about the jugs, I don't have as much knowledge of them as I would like because I have seen so little over the past 30 years.

  • @seana2646

    @seana2646

    @@TheAntiqueNomad The glass is called Bohemian Florentine, not sure if that was the range or the maker. I managed to have one signed a while back. The jugs are pretty common over here in England despite being very old they were tough so lasted. They do sell for a lot less here but they are expensive to export so understand the costs there.

    Mid-century boomerang pottery... I'd have nabbed that whole pile so fast , but I know someone who wants it. I'd be looking for that vintage Murano. The furnaces to make it run on natural gas, and gas prices in Europe have skyrocketed. (as in bat**** crazy skyrocketed) Some companies have gone cold, and the ones still operating have had to jack up prices. The vintage pieces are going to be a real relative bargain soon if they're not already. That white ceramic tree would have been out the door with me too if it's vintage; the white ones sell for $$$.

  • @TheAntiqueNomad

    @TheAntiqueNomad

    Жыл бұрын

    I should've bought it all, the rest had small chips and I have fussy customers. I agree about the Murano, not just the gas prices being up but the existence of so many very new fakes and forgeries makes the verifiable old ones more interesting

    I bought my first glowy glass piece almost by accident - the antique store owner held green depression glass with great disdain and gave me a deal. When I researched the piece I learned all about uranium glass. Now I source it as often as I can, and own a UV light to test it and to do the photos. My most interesting uranium glass piece recently was a gorgeous early 20th century perfume bottle I got from an estate sale. Flipped within a week for $84. My current favorite uranium glass in my shop is an oblong molded glass serving dish, and it glows brighter in UV than anything else I've seen!!

    Good evening, George! I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving!!! I liked the dancing faun statuette at the start. It looked like it could've been bronze. The MOP opera glasses, next to the lighter, looked like nice ones. My granddad retired from Goodyear, and he had one of those tire ashtrays...no idea what happened to it. That Vienna portrait tray was nice, but the price was a bit "up there". I liked the old kerosene pump next to the pay phone. $20.00 for the baby chair seemed a really good deal. They definitely aren't that well-made or sturdy these days. Those were really nice shops and the prices seemed good, too. Thanks for the take-along!!!
