It’s so sad, people clean out their parents home after they pass. But someone like you find the treasures and save them❤️
For years, I've poured my Dawn dish soap into one of my decanters, and placed it on my sink. It looks so nice and is really handy. I use another one for my scented bubble bath. I'm 76 and go by the advice to "use the good dishes"!!!
Reach out to Jocelyn/The Crazy Lamp Lady about Murano glass.

KEEP the dishes! They are stunning! And because they're neutral - you can style them with any pattern/color! I love them!!❤️❤️❤️
Colored glass is a favorite. The Norwegian bowl I actually got as my 5 year gift for working at Boeing, and that was in the last decade. So lovely but not old.
Sorry my dear but I'm pretty sure they are not Murano. Most likely made in China. There are many knock offs but people still like them. Not a high return for your money. I loved all of your other items and I really enjoy watching all of your videos. It's nice that you took a chance on the art glass and are going outside of your comfort zone. That's how we all learn. Keep up the amazing work that you do!!!
I have collected Murano for years. I’m afraid that the 3 pieces that you collected are (probably Chinese) copies. Someone already mentioned this but real Murano does not have ‘accidental’ bubbles. If a true piece of Murano has bubbles, it is controlled and there for a reason - as part of the design or to enhance a pattern. It looks like the Pontil mark is missing also, it should definitely not be absolutely flat on the bottom. Can’t wait to for your trip to Murano and all of the treasures it has to offer 🥰

Agreed. I have not been a collector for a long time, but after doing a ton of research over the last few years, I feel fairly able to also say those horse heads might be cool, but, alas, not Murano.

We were in Venice two months ago and went to the Murano glass factory. What an incredible day that was. The way they made their products and the items we saw! Wow.
Keep the grey dish set it looks natural with the counters & linen placemats would be perfect
The hand blown glass, always reminds me of Christmas Candy.❤️
I’m a moderate collector of art glass, I don’t care who makes it if I like the colours and shape and can afford it I buy it. I admire the talent that goes into hand blown glass. Those pieces were amazing I could have picked a few of those especially the birds. Nice find
Murano is pretty much always smooth and polished on the bottom from my experience. The swan you picked up in the beginning very well may have been a mid century Murano piece🙂
We were in Venice two months ago and visited the murano glass factory. To see those masters blowing the horses in such a short time in so much heat was mind blowing. I loved a glass African chandelier and they would’ve shipped to Australia where we live. But short of our budget restrictions and the fact that we are downsizing, it was really beyond me justifying my purchase. But the thought of that magnificent piece stayed with me for a while.
Spectacular haul! The Scandinavian blue bowl is stunning! Definitely a favorite. The decanters are beautiful and make a gorgeous collection. Love everything!
I was born in Vancouver and my family moved away when I was just 7. It is so fun to see all of the thrifting available in my birthplace which I have never gotten to experience but hopefully I can one day soon especially since now I am getting more and more into reselling myself and can experience the amazingness that the west coast has to offer Now that I’m an adult!
hey Laura ,the Miksa dishes will be great when u start cooking on line make the food stand out the dishes will disappear , but like u said a placemat under will look FANTASIC love them on your counters KEEP THEM.
HOLD UP! WAIT A MINUTE!! FORGET THE GLASS...LOOK AT LAURA'S EYES! That's what I'm talking about! Beautiful!!! Had to do an edit... HER HAIR! OMG! WHAT THE HECK? SO PRETTY!
Keep the dishes and purchase vintage place mates...so fun!!! Nice finds!!!
I went to Good Will today and found a huge haul of Franciscan Floral dishes, bowls, salad plates, 2 large oval platters, large covered casserole, still need to go back today to get cups. I think I have service for 16, but only 4 cups…. I NEVER ask for a deal, but I did today. They were pretty fair, I’d say. The dish ware I bought looks pristine !! 😳Update: I found 12 PRISTINE cups (1 was chipped, left it), & 3 what look like ash trays..? 3 legs and 3 sets of ridges on the rim..(?)
I LOVE the Mikasa dishes!!! I think they look great on the concrete! 🥰
I'm sitting here with my mouth hanging open: 🤣 I can't believe the wealth of items there!! Beautiful.
I would keep the dishes and buy placemats. I really love the fact that they blend with your counter top. And If you use them on your wood table It would feel like the kitchen is coming to the dinner table and connecting It all.
This is an old video so you probably already know, but just in case.... Murano glass figurines like those won't be hollow, the base will be polished (not cloudy or have the pontil) , and no bubbles unless the piece was purposely designed to have bubbles. These are probably China knock-offs. The large vase is probably one from China as well. I can see the bubbles, and the base was not polished. I resell art glass, and there are a lot of knock- offs out there. Even some that have Murano stickers on them are fake. High-quality art glass won't have bubbles and will have polished bottoms. The bottoms will be crystal clear, not cloudy, and will not have a pontil. Some really nice art studio glass will have pontils, but no bubbles, and they will have signatures on the bottom. Still very valuable to collectors, especially if they are well sought after artists. Using these for staging is still fun!!! And that swan?? 🤩 That was epic. I also loved the aquarium paper weight you left behind. Those go for a LOT of money if you find the good ones.
Hi Laura 🙋🏻♀️. What a great haul! I loved the way the speckled dishes looked on the gray concrete. Just think of the possibilities! Chargers, placemats, napkins, textures, the choices are endless with the neutral colored dishes! 😍
I use decanters in my bathroom to hold mouthwash and bubble bath.
So much fun. A lot of great Scores there. I love watching your videos and getting Inspiration on my KZread Vids and what to resell. Thank You! 😊 😊 😊
Oh my gosh. I have that Mikasa set in blue. Mine was purchased in the late 80's.
I would most definitely have to keep the Mikasa dishware set!! Very pretty, very nice and such a great find being a large setting! I actually love the finish/color and think it goes nicely in your space.
I for one would keep the dishes and place them on colorful woven place mats. They would just pop. I collect decanters and have about thirty on my living room beams. I enjoy being in the thrift shops with you since I only have two local second hand stores which has more clothes than vintage items. Love your style also. I always say, "if it fits and I like it...it's mine'.
Yeah, you got some TJ Maxx glass I'm afraid. They are pretty though! l always look for the polished/shiny bottom or ground bottom with signature, to know if I have good quality glass.
Great pieces you found, Laura! The gray Mikasa set is beautiful! Love it! Love everything! Keep up the great work! Can’t wait to see your trip to Italy!👍🥰💜
I'd definitely keep the grey speckled dinner service it's fabulous. We've started using our decanters of late so it was strange yo see these all out in that thrift store. My daughter visited Venice as part of a college art and photography course and brought me back a pendant from the Morarno( not directly I've spelt it right as I'm dyslexic)glass factory and they had an under water glass sculpture by someone famous on display, hope you enjoy it. Xxx
I’m curious…..do you ever look at the face of the thrift store cashier when you bring up allot of glassware? I used to make garden art with vintage glass/China. When I brought my glass filled cart up to the cashier I Always got the “stink eye”…….because they didn’t want to wrap everything. I immediately said “ You ring, I’ll wrap”. That’s how you get an immediate smile from the cashier!

Absolutely!! I said the same 😂 And she happily gave me a stack of paper. We were a great team! She scanned and I wrapped and we got it done fast. She was sweet and wonderful but there was a long line and one woman was very rude to the kind check out woman and kept asking her to call for backup. Even after she had twice. I finally said something to her and the checkout woman thanked me. It was actually a very sad moment so it’s interesting you just happened to have mentioned this ❤️
It's like opening Christmas presents. I would have taken all the glass items. They were so beautiful. I really enjoyed this haul.
I love the glass zebra! I collected colorful glass vases for a while, and I love them with sunlight shing on them. Sadly, I went through a hard time financially and sold them at a yard sale. A woman kept haggling over the prices and she wore me out. Ended up selling all of them to her for a ridiculously low price. It was not a good day for me.
When I saw them I was like please some one call the jocelyn aka crazy lamp lady ....... 🙏🙏🙏
Laura looking forward to”our trip to Italy”🤣 it doesn’t get any better a date with your handsome Jesse and Good will shopping you are one lucky babe!! Keep the speckled dishes for now, I am sure they will come in handy for a future family gathering, if after a while you really don’t have a use for them pass the blessing on. I pray you can get approved to visit the Botosi factory can’t wait to see those videos. Safe travels and God’s Blessings on your trip.♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️

I almost cried over all that beautiful art glass! I would have died if I found all that! ❤️😍🙀 I think you should keep those dishes, at least for awhile! Looks fantastic! 😀
Tea tree oil is a superb thing to have in your kitchen: it removes sticker residue in seconds...just use a cotton wool ball and it comes off like magic. No need to soak anything first!

You have to wash the dishes anyway and off comes the stickers. And with using oils I think they would need to be washed to get the oil off right?
@jayjaytailor
2 жыл бұрын
@@leonardmottjr1 Hi Leonard....there is often a sticky residue left on the surface of the porcelain after washing them either by hand or in the dishwasher that refuses to budge. And yes....I would always wash the area afterwards that I have just used tea tree oil on, otherwise it remains greasy and also to remove the smell of the oil which can be quite potent!
It is SO cool to see the crystal vase I purchased in the shop sale on the shelf 🤩
Wow... Laura you should keep the Mikassa set. They are rare and they are unique. You have a great day of finding treasures. Thank for your inspiring videos. Be well and take care! 🙌🏻💚🤟🏻
WOW...Laura, what great finds !!! You have fantastic thrift stores !!!
I’m not a murano expert but I do know the bottoms of their pieces are usually always clear they don’t have cloudy bottoms
Loved the blue bowl & the paperweight with the tiny fish. The glass factory (& Italy) sounds wonderful.
Love the bar cart and such inspiration! I use my heat gun if I have really sticky tags. They come off really easy when you heat the adhesive.
Great haul‼️ Check with Jocelyn on the horse and zebra heads as she knows Murano and glass. Keep the Mikasa set and find some colorful placemats, chargers and napkins 😘
Lovely Artglass 😍
Love all the glass. If you want advice on glass just ask the crazy lamp lady. Haha
The place settings are gorgeous! I would definitely keep!
Yes, keep the grey crockery set definitely. I think it is a great match for your kitchen decor. You sure had a good thrift haul today. Enjoyed your video very much. Thank you. xx
I think you should keep and enjoy for alittle before letting them go! There so precious. 😊
I spotted a Viking glass duck! Amazing finds! I collect vintage glass and quite a few of those are vintage and sought after!
Keep the dining set, looks great and goes really well with your black cutlery!
Great items in your trolley Laura your so lucky to find stuff like that,l loooove them all an comming along, stay well❤💙🤠

The Mikasa perfect for you! Agate book ends wow. The haul was great!
Great haul! So jealous of the Norwegian bowl. Love the dishes. They would look great with a placemat or table cloth underneath.
Love all your barware styling! I always looks for MCM barware too! It is a good seller! Excited for your trip!
Ahhh! What great finds! Maybe I’ll run into one of these times at a goodwill in Vancouver!! Also thanks for the reminder about checking out ReTails!
So many beautiful treasures things I see that my folks had but ripped out by grandkids completely clueless of their story or use, to go to a yard sale without first letting daughters have anything, hideous, unthinkable and insulting, thank you for showcasing so many great finds, inspiring
I have been to Murano Italy and I soon found out that even in the shops in Venice, you have to be careful of fakes from China. I’m skeptical of the horse heads but their still beautiful and that is the point. If it speaks to you, that’s what really matters. Do a lot of research before you go to Venice because once you’re there, you’ll be too busy to.❤️ Oh, and keep the dishes awhile and enjoy them. Mikasa is getting more sought after so the prices are going up so if you find another set you like better you can sell this set for a good profit.
The Mikasa set is a keeper. I think they're awesome and looks so interesting on your countertop.
I think you would really regret selling those dishes. They look so right in your new home!
I love finding things that are newer but based on a vintage design. The "Bitossi" from World Market is something I've never seen!
I love the Horses, especially the Zebra looking one. Keep the dishes. I think with the right placemats (which I know you will find) it will look great.
Hi Laura, I by no means am an expert on murano but am an amateur seller of it. A general rule I follow is if the pontif mark is buffed smooth on the bottom and is clear, you possibly could have murano. Those horse heads in my opinion probably aren't. I definitely think they are quality. The gold one is definitely not murano in my opinion. No Junk in these Trunks is my ebay store. I hope to run into you thrifting sometime! I live in des moines wa but my son is in Vancouver and we always thrift when we are there! Love you style and you videos.
The glass was so pretty, even if not Murano, it seemed like a great buy. Your hair and eyes were stunning in this video! Thanks for sharing your shopping adventures!
Keep, keep, KEEP that gorgeous dish set!!!
Great haul Laura! Love how knowledgeable you are don't second guess yourself when you're thrifting! Love the decanters and the dishes! I would keep the dishes but you can also make a lot of profit! ❤️❤️❤️
The glass pieces look like a lot of the Chinese glass you can find at Hobby Lobby and Home Goods. The bottoms are a tell.
With your large family, I say keep the dishes and use placemats!! Glass horses are you, enjoy! Can’t get enough of your vlogs!🤗😍
I wish we had a Retails here in Indy. Keep the Mikasa and find some cool placemats to make it all pop.
I love hand painted Italian ceramics, so that blue and white candle holder is my favorite piece from this trip. “Rescuing” Italian pottery from Goodwill and the Salvation Army is my jam. Don’t care if it’s chipped, crazed, or cracked, just so they don’t end up smashed in a dumpster. And you don’t notice those imperfections when it’s group together in an artful display. My little paisanos.

Wow! Absolutely fabulous finds! Keep the Mika’s a set! Find so,e cool placemats.
Those plates!
I actually like the Mikasa granite-looking tableware combined with the concrete countertops. Your food will be the star! I thought it was a beautiful tablescape. Vintage napkins could be a fun addition. Happy Hunting!
The first blue and green swan was lustworthy. I’d have bought it. Love the horses too.

I loved that blue. & green swan. Thought that was coming home with her, her colors, mine too! All the glass was pretty, fake or not, who cares! Buy what you love, live with it til you're tired of it. Swap it out!
Definitely keep the dishes. You are so good at layering that you can find great placemats maybe in blue, and green with a touch of red or orange that will make them pop.
I would keep the dishes! I love the horse & zebra; but, from what I learned on CLL it is not murano. Murano would only have controlled perfectly placed bubbles & a very polished bottom.
I would definitely keep the set of dishes. I really like the color
What a great haul.
Good Show! Thank You!
What an amazing haul! 🥰🥰 you have to keep the mikasa set - they are amazing and compliment your kitchen so well! Every thrift trip I’m trying to manifest a complete set of dining items but I’m get to find them! ❤
Can’t wait to see your Murano video. It’s an amazing place - you’ll love it. If you have time you should hop over to Burano too. All the handmade lace is really cool to see people make in their shops.

I’ve always been a fan of Mikasa, so love the speckled set! Your glass, as others has noted, is probably NOT Murano, but is still pretty. So many resellers label all art glass as Murano, so I’m always a skeptic 🤷♀️. Great finds!
Great haul!!!!
Hi, horse's aren't Murano, they grind and polish the bottoms until they sparkle. They also don't leave evidence of the pontil mark. I thought the piece with the blue coral and little fish were quality glass, but we didn't see the bottoms. Tfs 😻 Keep the dishes you'll use, sell the rest.

Murano bottom is polished
