Keep the piece as an olive oil decanter. There is something special about using an everyday piece you love in a luxurious way. Years ago, I used my grandparents sterling flatware for my everyday flatware. Yes, it was expensive and special but using it made every meal a memory and reminded me not to wait for special occasions to use the things you love.

My sis took the sterling flatware and sold it for the $. I’m the one who loves the vintage and antiques. I also took care of my parents until they died, she was a no contact child. ( Now she is “born again” Yeah right!!!!)💩

Best to sell, as olive oil should be stored in dark glass to prevent spoiling. You'd have to hide it in the cupboard... awesome haul!

I love what you found!!! Having said that, I miss the old format where you push your cart around and gather things and THEN show how you decorate with them. Am I the only one?

Hello Laura, If you keep the decanter for olive oil, you must store it in a cupboard in the dark. Otherwise your olive oil will get rancid very quickly. That is why olive oil decanters are made in ceramic so light does not alter the quality of the oil. It’s my happy place. I go to the Oregon coast as often as I can. ( going next month as a matter of fact). I grew up in eastern Oregon, but my heart is on the coast. (Left coast, as connected here).

The brass book ends are made after the gates of Seoul, Korea. Originally built in 1300s, there were 8 gates to enter Seoul. The south gate, i think, is registered as the national treasure. And yin yang symbol is a part of the national flag. Great finds!!!

Everyone can have their unique take on things and come across some really cool items that other people might not recognize as something nice. I see a lot of stuff I pass on because while I think they are cool, I just don't think I can make a profit on because others just might not get it.

1. Put up some bat houses to combat your mosquito problem naturally. Bats love to eat mosquitos. 2. I am not Italian, but I seem to remember that you need to store olive oil in a darkened or ceramic container away from light. This preserves its freshness.

Never ever let that turtle flower frog go. I have live turtles,I'm so obsessed with one lil girl turtle I'm keeping her. She has her very own pond and will be neefing a larger pond liner before long. She is just between 7 to 9 months old. Lol,I love her as a pet. So does my dog,she watches over this one,so yes both are in a forever home. Keep that turtle,no feeding plus its beautiful and fitting for you and your arrangements. Peace

I love the stone bookend. No, I wouldn't use the Danish vase for oil; it drips down the outside edge, plus looks cumbersome to hold onto.

Sell the vase because olive oil should be stored in a dark decanter so it doesn't go rancid. You had one amazing haul for sure.

Laura, I had to laugh when you told everyone about the flower frog. When I was younger, my husband and I lived in the Florida Keys. I had a customer come in and asked if we had any frogs (at the time I had no idea what it was, but we always had lots of live frogs that would sit in our hanging baskets). I told her that we had lots of frogs and she could take as many as she could catch. She looked at me like I had two heads. She then left, with out purchasing anything. I then spoke to the owner and she explained what a frog was and what it was used for. I started laughing so hard that I cried. I will never forget that encounter, and I'm sure the lady hasn't either!

I have to agree with the others. Olive oil decanters are best stored in dark glass and ceramic. If you see any Olive oil stored in a clear glass it's usually for the esthetic or it's a smaller container that will be used for only that day because it is mixed with seasoning to use for bread or cooking. I vote to sell it.

I would keep the decanter for olive oil. We live in a hot climate and use a decanter of the same color and it doesn't go rancid very easily. That may be because we use olive oil several times a day. You have such a good eye for putting things together.

For the fun tikki party, you can get these really cool coils on incense to keep the bugs away! The smoke will add to the ambiance, the citronella smell will keep bugs away, and they look so cool!

YES I would totally keep the decanter for YOU but would not use it for EVOO as it should be stored in a dark container or dark place (and then who would see it) for freshness (of course unless you go through a lot of EVOO).
