Congrats Bella, good work. The realization about your dogs is SO true and so good for folks to know. One of the fastest "life hacks" when you're depressed is to try and find something nice to do for a pet or for someone else. Being nice to others makes you feel better as well - and having animals or people to care for gives you a purpose which also helps a lot. *For helping get out of bed, here's something to try:* Lay out your ADHD pills and a protein bar and a meal replacement shake. Get the healthy ones, not crap. (Huel makes some good ones) Put that all out on your nightstand the night before. Set your alarm for about 30 minutes before you ACTUALLY want to get up. When the alarm goes off, take your pills, slam your meal replacement shake and protein bar, and then reset the alarm for 30 minutes and snooze. This works b/c ADHD meds typically take about 30 minutes to kick in, so you feel ABSOLUTELY GROSS in the morning (at least my wife and I do), so planning for that so first thing in the morning you can take your pills and get some protein without having to do anything other than the absolute minimum will help a lot. Plus, the first couple days you do this, you'll be activating the ADHD "this is something new, I'm excited" circuit which will also help. Hope it helps, keep up the good work, you can do it! Cheers

Bro, smoking even vape is very addictive. I have a friend from school who is smoking for 3 years already, he recently tried to quit, but couldn’t because after a week he was always so angry and depressed. He just couldn’t bare it. So yeah, don’t start and don’t even try, it’s not fun and if your friends are doing it - doesn’t mean you should. It is their choice, not your’s. I hope there were more people who would inspire young people to NOT smoke.

Please don’t ever go into smoking or vaping. You’re only 12 years old and you still are a little kid. Smoking is a really unhealthy lifestyle and improves your chance of cancer. Once you really start smoking, it will be extremely hard to quit. Since you said that most kids at school do it, I will just tell you that breathing in the smoke from the cigarette of someone else is very dangerous and called second-hand smoke. If you keep breathing that in, it could be just as dangerous as smoking a cigarette. If anyone at school tries to get you to start, don’t.

Keep pushing after about a month your dopamine levels will start to return to normal. Get lots of sunlight, water and exercise so your tired at night and fall asleep easier.

Hey just wanted to say that it’s ok to fail. Addiction is a tough war to fight and sometimes you’re gonna lose a battle. What matters is that you forgive yourself and don’t give up on your original drive to quit. It may seem like it’s hopeless, but there is always an end if you have the courage to look for it. Thanks so much for being so brave in sharing this with us. I know that had to be really hard. Keep on fighting and know that you have so much support and are never alone!!💜💜💜
You should be so proud of getting this far. You rock Bella.
That’s so crazy that your ribs hurt bc I stopped smoking recently & I had the same thing happen to me. I’m really skinny too so maybe ive always had the pain there but weed just masked it, not sure though. It was so annoying I couldn’t even sleep on my side withought waking up in even more pain so I had to sleep like a psychopath and lay flat on my back. So proud of you though! Keep pushing after about a month your dopamine levels will start to return to normal. Get lots of sunlight, water and exercise so your tired at night and fall asleep easier. Also listening to Binural Beats while you sleep. (432Hz is my fav) it helps put you in a meditative state to fall asleep. Cool dreams too👌🏼

If you're still having depression issues, look at seeing a psychologist, or other mental health professional. Keep up the good work!
