I know people have already said it but Michael Reeves didn’t allow him to use his robot dog is because the company from which Michael bought his robo dog from (Boston Dynamics) explicitly has a forbidden use with weapons in the contract. A few takes on this video: First of all, the uvalde school shooting was ended by an off duty border patrol agent with a borrowed shotgun. This is similar to the Elisha Dickens mall shooting in Illinois. He was able to successfully eliminate the shooter from 40 yards with a handgun with 80% accuracy. What did these two have in common? They were simply armed citizens who had the training and bravery to stop massacres. The reason both of these terrible things happened is because both the school and the mall were gun free zones. So its not like the shooter is picking out places with armed citizens so he/she will be neutralized quickly. Mentally ill people may be crazy, but not crazy stupid. Also, please stop portraying gun owners as irresponsible. It’s a pet peeve of mine when someone who doesn’t know much about a certain subject says an expert in his/her field isn’t doing things right when there’s more going on that certain people don’t see

This video is a masterclass on how to mislead without tevhnically lying. The only problem was when you brought the targets of children and tried to grandstand because they didn't stop you. That was such obvious virtue signalling and clearly shoehorned in it ruined the video as a dishonest hitpiece.

The issue is parents, school, society, and the fucked up world we live in. People commit suicide so no one should be allowed to own sharp objects or have high roofs, or have balconies/ windows that open after the second story. we as a society on this planet are failing. i remember not too long ago there was a guy going around chopping up people with a machete in Australia. Japan has a literal cannibal who was set free and allowed to walk around in society after literally stating that he plans to eat more people. I don't even fuckin know where to begin with brazil, so many issues there right now. really beautiful music, art, and history, but currently i feel terrible for anyone born in a lot of areas of that country. England's got stabbings, and its not a stranger to bombings. America has people shooting each other everyday, stabbing each other, etc. its what happens when society isn't prepared for the population to explode and for technology to advance in the way it has. the leaps and bounds we have made in relatively no time at all in the grand scheme of things are not to blame, but they are the vehicle through which our rapid decline has been traveled. The space race, foreign trades, wars the world round being staged as "righteous acts of violence" when in all reality they are for political agendas, ridiculous religious beliefs, or just plain old greed. We changed our clothes, we changed our music, our art, our foods, our modes of transportation, communication, violence. We changed so much over the course of the past 200-300 years. Yet somehow, we left our minds in the past, ourselves. We didn't change one bit about ourselves as a society, nothing. We sit idly by and fall victim to the same loop that has existed since the beginning of human society. we allow the rich and wealthy to polarize us, into being nationalistic, patriotic, and to a degree they make us hate even our own country men, our own neighbors. And the whole time everyone blames someone or something besides themselves even though they are falling for the same shit plated differently. The left hates the right, conservatives hate liberals, blacks hate whites, Jews hate Palestinians and Muslims. America hates Mexico. Britain hates America. Russia wants world domination, so does north Korea, so does china. All this fuckin bullshit. all this shit to keep you distracted and down, and fighting and struggling. Its easy to sit up on your high chair and blame. Its really fucking hard to sit in the middle of a world on fire and try to put it back together, especially when no one wants to think or use their fucking brain for longer than ten damn seconds. Suicide, mass killings, drug abuse. Pay attention people. to your family, your friends, your neighbors. Being a hero doesn't have to be running into a burning building, it doesn't have to be killing the bad guys or defusing a bomb. Be good to people, genuinely good. You never know when raising a kid well, helping that neighbor who seems alone and down about life, or giving your family member/ friend you haven't heard from in a while a call or visit might save their life, and or many others. Sorry to drone on, but a great example is the actor from friends: Mathew Perry. Perry struggled with mental health issues and depression as well as addiction, as mentioned in his recently published book. In his book, He had a section in which he mentioned he would send out bat signals if ever he were in trouble. Leading up to his death, Perry posted a whole unbroken set of batman references, or "bat signals," to his Instagram profile. Each post seems to be random, but after the events of his passing the message is quite clear. Perry was making one last attempt to cry out for help, or perhaps just letting everyone know he wanted this. The first two posts are just pictures involving batman, with clearly visible red bat symbols involved in the posts. following those, was a picture of a bat symbol with the phrase "Batman plays pickle ball" in the middle of it. Perry was found dead, by drowning, no foul play, two hours after he had played pickle ball. The post following the pickle ball post, involved three cranberries being placed on the floor. the post was captioned, "This is all I've had to eat today, I'm Mattman." This post was Perry letting everyone know he planned to drown himself while over intoxicated, like the lead singer of the band: The Cranberries. The following post was a bat symbol carved into a pumpkin, letting everyone know he planned to do this around Halloween, an eerie and cryptic caption: "Do you know what i mean?" The next post showed an almost full moon, Perry communicating he was waiting for the moon to be full, and a chilling caption: "do you understand what I'm trying to tell you?- i'm Mattman" Perry's final post was of him in the very hot tub he passed away in, the somber post captioned: "Oh, so warm water swirling around you makes you feel good? I'm Mattman" Mathew Perry died on Saturday October 28th, at approximately 4:17, just 2 hours prior having played pickle ball as well as sending his assistant out on errands after he had finished his match. While his assistant was out, Perry intentionally overdosed on an anesthetic level dosage of ketamine, after which point he sat in his hot tub knowing he would slip into a trans, and would eventually drown to death comatose under the water and unable to pull himself back out. Some people, like Mather Perry, despite being surrounded by a massive population, could not be more isolated and alone. I lost an old friend from my days in highschool yesterday. He had been struggling with mental health issues since early 2020. he finally lost his battle, and sadly, My friends and i will always have an empty seat at the table now whenever we are all back in town. We tried to help, but he pushed most of us out. the ones he didn't tried to help him, but his parents honestly just weren't there the way they should be. He felt alone, and he felt like it was all over. i hate that he felt that his only option was ending his life. it eats me up, and makes me question why no one did more, why i didn't do more. but its too late. This is the problem, but only on a small scale. We are not too late yet as a society, but we are getting there, close as hell, and we get closer every minute. As i said. be a good friend. be there for your family, your neighbors, a stranger in need. You have no clue when what you are doing will save lives. I remember a time not too long ago, when i was just a little boy, when thats what being a "True American" was all about.

You really disrespected a man who welcomed you into his home, helped you realize content and was chill even when your political views were so different from his. Also, it was fun seeing you all say how awesome his guns were when he let you shoot several thousands worth of ammo in his gun range. Bit hypocritical mate

How do I know I’m on the right side of the aisle? Situations like this. The other side, the gun grabbers, are duplicitous, conniving, and callous. Key mistake: You forgot to add some sort of a stabilization system to avoid the robot dog from falling over due to the gun's added weight. If you had simply taken between 5-10 minutes every day to sit down and meditate with your robot dog, practicing simple breathing and head-clearing techniques, not only would it have found it's inner balance, but it's outer balance as well

I think mounting the firearm directly to the robot upside down would be the way to go. It would reduce center of gravity, stabilize the weapon and make securing it easier. A digital screen with a calibrated sighting system operated remotely by the user would finish the package.

@@tcnguyen1987 if you lay the gun down with the ejection port facing the dog, you're gonna get a stoppage as soon as the second round ejects, maybe the third if you're lucky if you have the ejection port facing the air, the spent casings could very easily fall back into the port, causing a stoppage

Him living in Australia (where gun control worked) it makes sense he is pro gun control. Ultimately the average person (and not money-grubbing politicians) just wants kids to be safe, despite massive disagreements in the methods to achieve that safety. I strongly disagree with having more guns, since logically it means a higher likelihood of children getting accidentally shot, but if someone truly believes that more guns will help the situation for the safety of those kids, I find it hard to hate them, since ultimately we both want the same thing. Civility like in this video is really refreshing to see.

I don’t think solving the problem with more guns works at all, since the leading cause of death for kids in the US is still firearms without public shootings. It’s the kids who play with the guns abundantly available at home, stored improperly, and loaded. Those kids shoot themselves or others because gun safety is not respected or followd by the majority of americans. This is why regulations work in every other country, since only responsible gun owners are allowed the privilege of owning a firearm. Honestly if most Americans were like Brandon here, the gun problem would be reduced by insane amounts, but most are just your average stupid idiot, who can eaisly acquired fully auto weapons

Standard rifle rounds like .223/5.55mm, 7.62x39mm and .308 are some of the most common hunting and sporting ammos and are not high power rounds even if some stupid people on television say they are. Theyre standard ammo. Joe biden can say a 9mm will blow your lung out of your body 100 times, that doesnt change the fact its factually untrue. Mather the fact, depending on where exactly it hits, a .50 BMG, so a 50cal sniper round, can pass through someone without mortally wounding them. Here in germany you also can buy guns; after 7 years in a gunclub, absolutely clean record, only 10rnds magazines and no supressors or muzzle devices at all or anything like that. Even then the paperwork and weapons themselves are prohibitively expensive and youll need seperate safes for storage of ammo and weapon if you want to even consider to have it at home. There the feds can just invite themself in twice a year and check for storage. Your neighbors might also just missuse germanys red flag laws to report the gun owner and have his weapons taken away, no payback or recharge. Its just a state racket to sqeeze some more money out of people while still keeping the monopoly on violence. Rant over 😂👍🏻 take care yall 🤙🏻

Btw for those that dont know Boston Dynamics does not allow customers to mod their robots with anything that can harm humans. If they do they will deactivate the robot. In case anybody wondered why Michael's robot wasn't used here

There was a glaring issue with the design! Since the Robo-Doggo-Cop wasn't very accurate, you should have aimed for an area of effect instead of pinpoint accuracy, thus strapping Brandon's rocket launcher to the dog would have been the objectively best design.

Interesting and maybe terrifying to you, the military already has functioning ground based reomte control robotic weapons platform, they just don't use legs. They're basically small unnarmored electric tanks. One of them was fitted with a 30mm autocannon and was able to reliably hit targets about 150m away. So if you want a functioning gun robot, use treads. Aiming could be done two ways, a easily modable turret or a placement system like you have now but with hydropnewmatic suspension system to aim up and down and different gears for aiming faster or slower.

Why terryfing ? We always knew that the military had flying drones capable of annihilating houses thousands of miles away, why would a walking drone be any more scary than a flying one with bombs on it?

Gang and drug related shootings make uo the vast majority of "mass" shootings and have nothing to do with mental health issues related to a highly institutionalized and oversocialized society in the midst of an unrecognized depression where the average new car costs 3-4 times more tham the cost of a new car during the great depression in 1930 adjusted for inflation, and the average house 2-5 times as much, and more to do with criminal behavior/enterprises.

He went in this knowing full well that he will lie to people, betray them, purposefully edit the video to make them look bad, and overall just abuse their hospitality.

I respect your stance on guns, but I cant shake the feeling that this was deceptive, not to mention disrespectful to Brandon. You clearly took a very serious, stern tone for this video, yet from the looks of Brandon's video, you and your friends seemed to enjoy every second of it. The part that appears to be particularly deceptive to me is when you melodramatically edit the video to make it seem like everyone was nervous and frightened of the robot, like Brandon and company had little-to-no idea how to handle and go about the situation, which comes off as insulting, despite the fact that all of you were having a blast, as depicted in Brandon's vid, and were intrepid and carefree. On top of all that, BRANDON HAD NO IDEA YOU WERE PREACHING A POLITICAL MESSAGE. You ask someone to use their guns, their field, their image, only go behind their back with an antonymous, contensious political message, again respect your stance, but you are spitting in the man's face. It's centre of mass is too high, creates too much torque from gravity and recoil. Perhaps lay it on its side as well as screw it down to make it more of a cohesive unit.

nah the biggest problem is that the gun is so far away from the centre of gravity, it means that because of levers and shit the recoil is gonna be way worse and it'll go off balance way faster

Dude the sketch animation was sick!! And by far this is one of the worst ideas, putting an automatic gun with 30 rounds onto a robot dog is one of the most dangerous and stupid ideas you have ever gotten, loved it.
