Do this challenge again, but decend in elo each bot, so skip the duplicate elo bots. Then if you don't win by Martin, you have to go back to the top of the bots and continue

I found this more interesting than the battles against Martin, as Martin is just seems to be a random mover, except for not missing mate in one.

Interesting choice for Morphy's bot. Apparently, Caro-Kann opening was first analyzed two years after his death (although, I guess, Morphy could have theoretically tried it on his own).
Would be interesting if you could randomize which bot came next

18:08 Bots played: 277. Did I fall asleep or something? 21:22 "The only thing I can hope for ..." Nelson breaks his rule of never playing Hope Chess. 28:17 He made it to Isabel. If I don't blunder, I usually can beat her (it?). From Andy Soltis's _Chess To Enjoy_: "There was an added twist to this at the European team championship in 1961. It was held at Oberhausen in West Germany, and one of the writers of a Czechoslovakia chess magazine recruited players, captains, trainers, spectators|just about anyone around|to contribute a move to the game. Each person was shown the current position and asked for the best move."

Really cool video idea Nelson! I think that game was amazing, maybe even needing an analyzing video on its own. Also another idea might be to try this challenge in reverse, starting at Martin and ending at Morphy. Although the beginners might blunder to many pieces before the advanced bota can take over. Idk, just an idea.
A. try the challenge until you win. B. try the reverse. see if masters can salvage a potato opening from Martin.

This was excellent. I'd like to see you try against a random bot each move, as an alternate version.
Make another one but alternate between beginners and advanced players. I think that'd be fun!

That would be too easy since after a blunder the game is over anyway
I would love to see another attempt at this
Play a match that 1/3 of moves are martin. 2/3 will be stockfish
This makes me imagine a tough battle, holding out all the way to martin but at that point it's mate in one and we know what Martin will do then...
Well, the first five moves were theory on the part of both sides. Play should have proceeded 6. dxe5 Nxe5 7. Qe2 Qe7
Absolutely give it another try!! Very fascinating.
Very interesting video. I am happy I saw the blockade with rook d2 and rook e2. I would not have last as long a you though. Very good game from you
By far my favorite video yet, I was holding my breath, definitely try again but maybe less bots
18:04 bots played 277😂😂😂
21:37 it was 30 because of e3, kxe3, f1, rxf1, rxf1#
You should try this again and add a lifeline option where you can sub in martin for one of their moves or stockfish for one of yours
Best challenge in a while. Would have liked a game review even.
This was really cool! Would like to see another crack at it.
You should do this but then random next bot or 1 lower on the engine every time
Chess but martin gets 2 moves for every move you make
Love the channel, love chess and love the breakdowns and thoroughness. These gimmicky games, however, are not my cup of tea. It's fun to play jungle chess or bots with extra rules, but I do come here more so for the puzzles, the educational videos, and even just normal games (because I always learn something whether it's new or just engrained via repetition). I'm sure the audience is pretty diverse, and it's not bad a bad thing, it's still entertaining. Just sharing my own 2c for what's it worth, keep up the great videos either way.

You can chance thre rating of the engine mid game you can do that maybe 2 moves per rating from maximum to begginer.
18:02 the number of bots jumping up
That was fun! Maybe give yourself a lifeline? You can call in Martin out of sequence for one move.
All the problems started when you "liked the idea of trading" and played a move which didn't even guarantee a trade.
11:08 taking the e4 pawn making your problem easy
i would love to see more
This should have been completely randomized
I love this idea! I gave it a try, starting with the Masters and going down. I won!

24:20 i wouldhave played d8 to check the king and depending on what he does you can go back or check him more often to get to weaker bots
Do this again it was great
Next time I suggest using a random number generator to choose which bot gets to make a move
As a beginner i found this very insightful, thanks!
I was looking at Rd2 the entire time, thinking that there must be something wrong with it that I didn't see, but it turns out you just missed it. ouch. happens to all of us though, of course, not trying to be rude (nelson is a far better player than I am!)

I actually thought during the game there was also other refutation with Rd8+ where if Kh7 than Re8 Rd3 Rxe4 Rd1 Rh4+ Kg6 Rxh3 Rxf1 Kg2 and if Kf7 Rd4 e3 Re4 it's zuzgwang for all pieces and will be a draw eventually because black King can't cross the d file. As usuall long lines wrong lines and after Rd8+ Rf8 Rd1 repetition black doesn't have to blunder again :D B pawn will be winning.

Can this become a series please
that was awesom
if you do this again turn the evaluation bar off it feels like your just playing around the evaluation bar instead of realizing threats yourself plus i want to try to figure out whos winning myself
Nelson do this challenge again but go in descending order of elo i.e highest elo first then lower then that and so on.
Martin bot, but your pieces are as strong as their value. For example: queen can capture every piece, rook - everyone without queen, minor pieces - each other, pawns only each other, king's value as a minor piece. You need to checkmate with queen or rook. Good luck!
Great way to learn!
from 18:06 the bots played count goes from 26 to 277 lol
in 22:51 Nd2 draw cause after he pushes you would take he pushes, and you will be able to sacrifice theKNIGGGGGGGGGGHT for to pawns.

G6 then Rd1 and you get mates or lose a rook
Hi Nelson, I have another idea for you: Try to play against the strongest bot with three jokers. You can apply each joker whenever you want, but only once, and only one at a time: 1. The Martin joker: You are allowed to let the Martin bot do a single move 2. The Take Back joker: You are allowed to take one move back 3. The Two Moves joker: You are allowed to make two consecutive moves at once. Maybe for joker 3 some extra rules must be applied to not make it too easy: When doing two consecutive moves, you are not allowed to take a piece, to give a check or checkmate, or to promote a pawn...
@lanotalos1362
Жыл бұрын
Maybe make joker 3 a little bit weaker: You are allowed to move two different PAWNS at the same time, without taking a piece, or putting the the king in check or checkmate. Promotion might be allowed though...
Awesome, please try again!
Is this actually 30 min video. Actually i feels like 15 or something. That much interesting . Waiting for puzzle series

at 27:33 couldn't he play knight takes pawn e2, so if rook takes he pushes his g5 pawn to g6, then after that he can promote but since you took one pwn already you can take it back without loosing the rook
18:05 how did the bots played counter go to 25 to 277😂😂😂😂😂
at the position at 9:25 you didnt even consider a knight move(except na3) why ? like i thought of nfd2 which has its drawbacks, so i inputted the position to stockfish to try and understand and it said nbd2 same idea, better execution (defending f3) not the best move but second best, i think better than just xde5 😅 idk if it comes as disrespectful but just for good measure, thats not the case im genuinely trying to undestand what were your concerns in that position and learn from that.. btw cant wait for a second try, i was so invested xD so.. part 2 ?

The knight is abbreviated as N. Not as K, because "Kbd2" states that there are 2 kings on the board.
We want rematch with the same challange!!
at 27:00 I maybe would have tried to setup mate pushing the pawn. If black wouldn't have pushed e2 you could've had mate by playing rook a8. With a little bit of hoping bots didn't see this (as you were playing Hope Chess at 21:22 anyways ;) ) you could've had checkmate.
That was fun. You should try again.
18:16 277 bots played, nice
I have an idea, play Martin but unless you promote all your pawns to knights you lose
21:04 well.. The eval totally disagrees 🗿
I'd like to see yo u do this again but randomize which bot you play against each time.
I would've gone knight f1 and hope they take
Funny thing is I found rook d2 after you explained everything I’m surprised the position was that complicated
the knight sacrifice wasn't worth it tho
18:11 Yes, makes sense
At 11:50 Anna didn’t take the pawn(b2 pawn) because there might have been a threat of trapping the queen
If you can does 100 moves then it’s impressive
18:14 that’s a lot of bots

another game another game !!!
26:57, after pawn to e2 why didnt you take with the knight on e2, this is because if rook takes knight then there is rook f1 and there is no way for black to defend their f1 pawn and the game is either going to be a draw or a win (win because lower rated bots may blunder piece leading to your victory.)
