Once Shakira "exploded onto the scene" with 🎶Whenever, Wherever🎶; I did what any REAL musician/writer does: I went backwards in her discography. She's a TRUE musical "jack-of-all-trades" (unlike that vapid & useless "Taylor Swift") Shakira plays several instruments, speaks several languages, is successful & is truly intelligent & attractive. I have all-but-three aspects: I'm a man😎 I'm NOT "successful" (yet)🤔 I'm definitely NOT attractive😉 The rest I can do...much like the lovely Shakira...but like Danny Sapko here says: "Aww, f'k off..." 🤣🤣🤣

It’s less and less common these days, sadly. The music industry (especially in the US) cares more about money and aesthetic than actual artistic quality. (This isn’t to say there aren’t any talented and famous musicians in the US right now. We still have a few)

Shakira is a feeaking goddess!!! She is a mother, multilingual, and a sense of humor, musically talented, an on and on.. Her love and appreciation for her fans is something other artists could take notes on, might learn a thing or two 🤨

I interviewed her and shadowed her almost 20 years ago when Fijación Oral came out. Not only. She is an actual musician but she runs her things like a actual boss. Even though she had a lot of people around to help her, she was very much aware of where her crew was and what needed to be done throughout the day. I saw her as a celebrity who is taken care of, but not in a spoiled kind of way, but rather in a hands-on-CEO style. She's not my favourite artist (a simple matter of taste), but I really admire her discipline and proffesionalism.

I think you'll find a lot of people who make bad music are actually quite good (and versatile) musicians. Lady Gaga also comes to mind.

It’s a similar shape but Darbuka has a rounded playing edge rather than a protruding rim (at least mine does).

Her first two live DVDS were great! Spot on backing band too 🎸🎸🎸

She’s pretty bad ass. I played in a cover band that did a lot of her Spanish stuff before she came to the US. Not the typical pop star, and her career now spans decades.

Just because a woman can str9ke up a cheap sexy pose with an instrument and play a couple of notes doesn'mean she can play the instrument.
