It's just his old 70s P Bass with a Bartolini 8s Pickup and flatwounds, doubled by Xan McCurdy's flatwound strung hollowbody guitar. I am pretty sure he went direct... He's not a gearhead.

She’s a singer and the bass is a prop for a photo shoot. She’s not a bass player or even pretending to be.

"Have you heard the word" by The Fut was sung and had the bass recorded by Gibb. The wiki page is a great little read. It was his only "side project" outside of the band

I feel exactly the same. I have a 4-string each set up for standard, half a step down, D, and B. I'm not smart enough to switch from fours to fives, and the only reason I have the one tuned B-E-A-D is to justify the Peavey G-bass I wanted to buy, not because I ever really needed to play that low, haha!

There are actually two different five-strings: the ones with BEADG tuning (most common), and the ones with EADGC tuning (far less common). Both are chopped from the six -string standard of BEADGC tuning. 'nd thenks fer wotchin' 😉

If the bass has 6 strings, just call it a bass guitar, literally! I did play bass for a very short time period a few years ago. Since I have small hands I much prefer playing a 4 string bass guitar. For me, the bass guitar will be the next instrument to master after the drums. I am learning guitar now, but I am thinking of switching over to bass. Way easier to learn bass than guitar because of less strings.

Many issues with modern metal bands are heavily distorted guitar AND bass. They tend to step on eachothers toes in the frequency range. The trick is to give the bass a very clean, crisp overdriven tone. Alex Webster is a great example.

Day Four | Video Four | New Behs Challenge for Danny Sapko: Play this Ominous Behs Riff, 17 Times… with Picc: 0E 2E 3E 4E, 3E 4E, 3E 4E 3E 4E, A2 E4 Pedal = Reverb and/or Delay There’s a lot more to the riff, but it would be a pain in the butt to transcribe every one. Also, I don’t know the amount of Reverb or Delay for the riff. BPM = 110 *Best Played on a Blue Custom Shop 1960s Fender Jazz Bass*
