I love the way you’re talking about Berlin. I’m a native German myself and it makes me so incredibly happy to see you enjoying our capital. Berlin is so beautiful and “affordable” for a big city. I think that the German past is horrible there’s no excuse for it but think Germany is probably the best country when it comes to learning from the past. As you said we have more German museums than rainy days and you can’t go through school without having to learning to learn the two World Wars about 3 times. That’s why I’m proud of the Germany now. Horrible and disgusting events happened but we try our best to prevent any kind of event like this to happen ever again. I’m sad when I think about other countries that glorify their past and don’t learn our acknowledge their mistakes because I think every country has their “bad” past or even present. But our job is to learn from it and prevent that it’ll ever happen again.

@hannami Poland, sure. But Russia? Yes, Russia suffered a lot during the war, but it’s not true to say they were innocent victims. Have you ever read about the atrocities Stalin committed during the war? How many millions of people died in Russian gulags? How after ww2 ended, Russian soldiers had a blanket permission statement to rob, pillage and r*pe as many german houses/women as they wanted (which they took full advantage of)? I’m not taking away any of germany’s blame and the horrible things germany did. But russia definitely wasn’t completely innocent

Totally agree like how so many countries still don't tell enough about there part in slavery. And like yes German did awfull things but so did lots of groups in other countries so the blame should be to the people who did terrible things not the countries.

@@inerys6133 it's a Canon 750D (which I've had since I started my channel!). I use a Sigma lens to give it the bokeh effect. The lens is soooo heavy that I hardly ever take it outside haha. Thank you so much!! ✨

Aren't "ich möchte" and "ich hätte gern" basically the same thing? Ich habe Deutsch als Fremdsprache gelernt, also vielleicht habe ich es falsch verstanden. Aber ich wusste nicht, dass es da einen Unterschied gibt.

I went to Berlin like 3 years ago and I noticed they had this really cool bottle recycling system. So basically every time you buy a plastic bottle you pay like 10 cents extra (i think i cant remember the exact price) and when you return it they give that 10 cents back. So the relatives I visited collected the bottles in a bin bag and then returned them in bulk so they got back a lot of money. Also have you noticed how clean the streets are ? In London i see so much chewing gum and litter on the floor but I didn't see that in Berlin.

Hey I'm working at a store were we take back the bottles The prices vary from 8 cent (beer bottles) to 15 cent for hard plastic bottles and 25 cent for Einweg Bottles

Miri Left I can second that. When I heard she was coming to Berlin in winter, I thought “oh nooooo. November is probably the worst month to be in Berlin, lmao.” But it’s jade and she’ll just enjoy the Christmas markest in December, the autumn in October and then maybe study a lot in november. But yeah. Berlin in summer vs. winter are two entirely different sides of the same coin.

You can do it! :D I did almost the same for other reasons, so here are a few tipps: 1. Try out CS50 if you are into coding at all. If you mildly consider it, give it a try :) It's a ton of fun!! 2. Find some job. Be it waitering, helping in a shop, tutoring, cleaning... 10h/week is totally doable. You'll have a regular schedule, safe some money, and value it more ^^ 3. Set some time apart to just be and discover yourself. Don't force yourself to keep a schedule at all times. You're free :) These tipps would've certainly helped me back then, so I hope they do so for you! :)

Hey Jade, I lived in Berlin for 12 years and my whole family still lives there, so if you need some tips, I'm here! I know some cool thrift stores and stuff, soo...you really have to visit the "Kurfüestendamm" with the "Gedächtniskirche" (This church has so much history!) or the "Bikini Berlin" or the "Rosenhöfe"! Believe in me, there are so much more vegan restaurants in Berlin...Hope you had a great start to uni. I love your videos so much!

I think something that you should know about „my“ city is that every district is basically a whole new city. It really depends if you are in Neuköln or in Prenzlauer Berg. But rly. Visit as much as you can. It’s fascinating. 💛

I'm from Argentina (where covid situation is still extremely bad) and watching these vlogs give me so much joy and bring so much light into my day. I just sometimes have this awful feeling of thinking that the situation here is never going to get better, but seeing someone actually traveling and doing cool stuff makes everything seem possible.
